Hi All .
About 18 months ago I successfully reflashed my daughters (VF Spain) HTC MINI HD from WM 6.4 (I think ?) to Photonic's Android 2.3.7 .
My son now has the phone and he wants to reload WMback on to it . I've downloaded a few WM ROMs (RUU_Signed_0C0Ano_sense_clean.nbh) from this site , but they all seem to require that the phone already has WM on it and that I establish an active synch connection with the phone before hand in order to perform the upgrade .
I'd appreciate any help that you could give me to remove android and reinstall WM .

Hi again .
I've managed to find the WM backup (.img) that we made before changing to Android . Can some kind person please tell me how to go about restoring this image from the RECOVERY menu ? I've tried a few things but now all I'm getting are "MD5 mismatch" errors .

I was missing a file called "nandroid.md5" in my backup folder . I created an empty file and my phone is recovering as we speak .

The first 5 steps went successful, and I've tried installing multiple ROM's like :
Transformer 1.1
Touch VII
and both ROMs are giving me same error on command prompt ( although in the end it comes as successful upgrade ) and this popup of "SUCCESS" comes on my device while upgrading.
the error i'm getting on command prompt i'm getting is :
Writing the new CrossBow OS Rom ...
Copying C:\Downlo~2\itsutils.dll to WEC:\windows\ItsUtils.dll
could not update Itsutils.dll to the current version, maybe it is inuse ?
try restarting your device, or your active sync.
then that Congratulations msg comes up ~~

-Download again all the .zip's from web to the desktop and extract all to desktop again
-disable antivirus and firewall
-run pvtemp.exe(choosse between g3 and g4 depending of your mobile model)
then run the update.bat

Hi all, long time since my last visit.
The problem for me is I cannot get my pim from a backup .dbk made with HTC DataBackup 3.10
This is complicated because I MUST get a lost contact. I made this dbk file inside an imate JASJAR the past year, this pda was of my past work, and since I'm not working anymore there, I left the laptop and PDA given to me.
Because of this, I cannot obtain from outlook sync, when I get fired I just made that backup in 3 minutes (it finished I'm sure) on my own SD card. Then I did a Hard reset to the PDA and a factory system restore to the laptop (on that time I don't had my own pc).
I hope there is some program to restore the contacts, I tried using the WM6 emulator without success using the restore function in HTC DataBackup, actually I don't have a PDA.
I opened the dbk file in Hex Editor and I can read some strings in ASCII, but most of the content seems like coded or encripted (compressed???) so I cannot get the information on this way.
Please, some one help me, it is really urgent for me to get this contact!!!

well obviously I'm a newbie here and i needed to know if anyone can help me find a download link for windows mobile?it crashed on my Siemens pocketloox and i lost my cd so i've been looking everywhere for a downloadable version but i can't find one.

Dude a pda is not like a pc where you can freely install any OS you wish... The official Windows Mobile versions must be provided by your manufacturer (there isn't a Universal version per say... if you try to flash the version of another device you'll kill your phone). You may try to check Fujitsu-Siemens homepage for an official ROM update or contact them if needed
Over the net you may find ROMs for pda but bare in mind these are device specific and your device usually needs to be hacked in order to install unofficial versions (your device seems to be quite old... I don't believe you'll find any rom here since xda is almost HTC land).
Also what do you mean by crashed? Did you brick it (OS won't start... all you get is a black screen)? Have you tried removing/reinserting the battery and restarting?
the start menu suddenly has no icons,and neither the camera shortcut button nor the notes one are working.basically,it just opens and almost everything is disabled.
The easy solution is...
Just hardreset the device (seach here) and it will reset your device to factory defaults (it's like a format+reinstall)... Problem solved.
Just make sure you backup your data (photos, contacts, messages...) before because everything will be erased

Hello there
I bought htc hd2 second hand with windows 6.5 installed on it, but i did not like it so i followed some tutorial here in how to install android. i did that and i never been happier, however i was surprised when i run out of buttery and my device shutdown then recharge it and turn it on there was windows again and i had to do all the process again to lunch android system which drove me crazy because all the app's i already downloaded and installed on SD card were not working any more ...
So i have a few questions hopefully someone can help:
1. Is there any way i can uninstall windows from my HTC HD2 permanently and replace it with Android ?
2. If not How can i help my app's from getting lost?
3. what is the best way to back up my files and data before doing any thing new to my device?
4. since i am new to this system can any one explain to me what is the different between android, mglader and nand ? and what is latest version of Android?
Hello , ant thank you for the interest . I have been searching the internet for days trying to figure out whats up with my phone . I got as a gift from a friend to my young sister , but the phone is stuck on the login screen.
Methods i tried to resolve the issue :
Hold down power volume - and + , and restored factory settings : didn`t work .
Try searching for official android relies for my phone , downloaded tons of different software , in some i had to make a folder : dload , and put the UPDATE,APP in the folder , but when i try to update with the fastboot menu i cant seem to see the update file.
I have downloaded .zip files and try to put them on a new sd card and install them , i can see the zip files but when i try to install them it says : signature verification failed .
I Cannot access my phone using my pc , it simply does not find it as a device . So if there is a solution to all of my problems , i will try to send a virtual beer to everyone
