HTC Tasks

You probably know the HTC Tasks widget from sense 3.5
How do I sync with Google Tasks or some other sources??
in the settings menu "accounts" is disabled!

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing... Maybe it can't be done because it's a beta, or it doesn't sync with Google but with some HTC service.

Ya...it must not be a completed app. Based on the greyed out Settings>Accounts option and the "Refresh" option it looks like it is intended to eventually sync with a cloud-based service. I truly hope that it will be the Google servers. Their use of the color bars along the left hand side of the tasks makes me hopeful that it will be Google-based....

I use nuevasync as an exchange account with toodledo as a task manager. I've got it syncing without issue. Only certain exchange services will it support at this time.

It is more than just .apk there are system libs in there too. It won't work with 3.0 yet. Just got 3.5 its just as polished as 3.0 and appears faster to the naked eye. There are some wonderful. 2.3.5 roms.

any updates on htc tasks??
google calendar's recent updates integrated googles tasks as an own calendar and the tasks can be attached with due dates and notes which will be shown in the calendar. very very cool feature, but unfortunately this new "tasks" calendar is not shown in our htc devices as a standalone calendar which it should be :-(

Yeah that's a known issue with Google Calendar for quite some time. Tasks have been around for Calendar for well over a year. However it's googles funky way of integration that is the issue, not the Calendar apps. It's because Google Tasks are not true tasks nor true calendar, but a wonky hybrid.
My iphone and vanilla Android had the same issues.
What exactly is your problem with the tasks app?
Sounds more like your problem is Google, not HTC.

Well I can click accounts (using virtuous affinity 1.46) but can only sync with exchange or use local lists.
Even if you could sync with google tasks it's a basic service, I would rather sync with astrid or producteev.

The accounts list is grayed out, because HTC Tasks sync works with Exchange ActiveSync. Add an Exchange account under Settings/Accounts and Sync, and you will be able to sync your tasks.

I added my google account as an exchange account and selected only tasks to sync but it never syncs any tasks?

I have used HTC tasks widget with google task sync in sense 4 roms....however for all sense 3 and 3.5. Roms it has never worked for google task.

New to Android. I have my Exchange tasks working fine but how do i add Google Tasks. I am amazed it just isnt synching with my google acount. everything else is.
Any help would be appreciated.

HTC added tasks google sync to HTC Sense 4. I was never able to get it to sync on previous versions

Hey there! i have Desire S with HTC One ported OS. it also reports that it has Sense 4.0.
i've activated the widget and made task lisk on my google account but the problem is that the widget sometimes it shows the task list, sometimes it doesnt.
anyone know why this is happening?!

problem with calendar sync

The event can download from google calendar . But it can't upload to google calendar . Some service apk is missing , isn't it? How can i fix it ?

I am using the stock calendar, it is still not syncing with google despite being checked to sync. Google calendar is not listed as being installed on the phone stock, so how would updating gapps help?

If you don't have Google calendar of course it won't sync. How do you not have google calendar on a stock phone?
Go to your calendar. Open settings. Click calendars and make sure the one with your Gmail is checked. Should sync.

Don't know what is wrong. Have stock calendar on my S3. Account IS checked under settings. Has never synced with Google calendar to the point where I can go onto computer and open the calendar there and access my appointments. I wasn't sure if this calendar was a Samsung app or Google.

What Calendars are you trying to sync? I know that for me I have my Outlook and Gmail calendars synced together with Google Calendar Sync, that way my calendar is always up to date with whatever ROM I'm running (Sense, AOSP, etc.)

I haven't tried anything yet...was just looking for a good app for this

Yeah, the stock Calendar will do this, as well as any 3rd party calendar apps that use Google Calendar as their data source. You and your wife just need to be using Google Calendar, and share your calendars with each other.
As far as specific calendar apps, Touch Calendar is my favorite. It gives you a full month view (6+ weeks actually), while still displaying the time and appointment description (a good # of characters, so you can actually tell what it is). Which is something that the stock calendar and other 3rd party apps simply do not do (or don't do well).
The free version of Touch Calendar works great as a stand-alone app. But if you want put the calendar on your homescreen as a widget (which I like to do), this requires the paid app. But I found it worth the couple bucks to buy the paid app.

[Q] Anyone got working calendar on 4.4 ?

I have the 11/22 driver (update 5) on the Infuse and I cannot get past the authentication screen for calendar.
After I plug in my uid/pw it says "Couldn't sign in". This must be a default message for something because when I test with an invalid credential it simply says bad uid/pw.
Does anyone have a working calendar on 4.4 ?

I had a similar problem. I downloaded the google calendar from the play store though and it seems to be working fine.

It seems that the calendar application included in gapps (green grid icon) does not work . I disabled it and downloaded the calendar application from Google:good: play (blue page folding icon) which worked without setup.
Google must have switched the application and we are still flashing with a wrong gapps.:good:

that green icon calendar is the stock android aosp calendar app. its not part of gapps, though you used to be able sync your google account with it. i dont know if you still can because they killed off google sync a while back. its still needed for other things like exchange accounts. google released a dedicated google calendar app like a year or so ago so you should use that anyways.

I had been using the green icon calendar all this while .... did not know enough to go the blue icon calendar app.

If the AOSP calendar is uninstalled and the blue Google calendar installed will calendar on lock screen function properly? I'm not on 4.4 yet but just curious. Thanks!

Google Sync

Does anyone know how to make Google Sync work? I've installed Google calendar sync and Google Contact but when I go to accounts and choose Google, there is no entry for either.

Follow the steps here exactly as mentioned without skipping anything :
1) Factory reset your phone
2) After reset,
Download contact for android 6 apk
Then download contact sync APK for android 6
DO NOT LAUNCH OR EXECUTE any of them for now ...
Go to phone manager, go to permission manager and in CONTACT, let CONTACT app and CONTACT SYNC ALWAYS allow to change the contacts. It is by default on notify ...
Then, launch contacts app, introduce your login and password from google and it will sync all your contacts. AFTER that, you can download play store, google agenda etc ... You can find all apk i have mentioned on apkmirror
Then all will work perfectly with your chinese mate 8

Is contacts apk really nessecary? The native contacts won't work? As there will be 2 contact apps in the end.
Is there a calendar sync app nessecary to synconize Google calendar with the one built into EMIU?

Don't know exactly what I did. I went to Settings > Permissions Manager > Applications and turned on "Trust this application" for Google Calendar Sync and Google Contacts Sync. I am using a different calendar other than Google's. Didn't have to reset the phone.

I did try exactly as you said, but it doesn't work none the less. After factory reset, and adding Contacts and Contacts Sync, there isn't any Google account (just an Exchange account option) that can be paired to it, as there is no Google Account that can be added, sadly.
Will now try to install Google Play and hope that it will create an account that can be paired to the Contacts app.

Fixed! Installing Google Play did the trick.

I've installed Google Play Store and I can't add google account in native calendar app and contacts [emoji25] in NXT-DL00

Anyone could activate the google tap ? Phone does not open the menu for googele tap when i tap the home button twice or hold still.?

Install Google calendar too. Then sync possible.
