[Q] Anyone got working calendar on 4.4 ? - Samsung Infuse 4G

I have the 11/22 driver (update 5) on the Infuse and I cannot get past the authentication screen for calendar.
After I plug in my uid/pw it says "Couldn't sign in". This must be a default message for something because when I test with an invalid credential it simply says bad uid/pw.
Does anyone have a working calendar on 4.4 ?

I had a similar problem. I downloaded the google calendar from the play store though and it seems to be working fine.

fixed by replacement

Thanks !
It seems that the calendar application included in gapps (green grid icon) does not work . I disabled it and downloaded the calendar application from Google:good: play (blue page folding icon) which worked without setup.
Google must have switched the application and we are still flashing with a wrong gapps.:good:

that green icon calendar is the stock android aosp calendar app. its not part of gapps, though you used to be able sync your google account with it. i dont know if you still can because they killed off google sync a while back. its still needed for other things like exchange accounts. google released a dedicated google calendar app like a year or so ago so you should use that anyways.

Thanks

If the AOSP calendar is uninstalled and the blue Google calendar installed will calendar on lock screen function properly? I'm not on 4.4 yet but just curious. Thanks!

ICS (4.0.3) Calendar not showing appointments

I have 4.0.3 installed on my Nexus S (GT-9020), and have been loving it - best OS I have used on any phone. So sleek and well designed, it's a real shame most users will never see it's full glory once Samsung, HTC et al will put their own skin over it.
Anyway, yesterday (29th Feb) all my calendar appointments disappeared from my phone and now it is only showing new ones added since yesterday.
None of my settings have changed, I still have my work exchange account and my gmail account syncing and the mail from both are fine. All the calendars are still selected to be shown. When I go online I can still see my appointments in Google Calendar so I know they haven't been deleted and in Outlook my exchange appointments are also still there.
I don't know what has happened. At first I thought it was just the widget but the full app doesn't show them either.
Has anyone seen this? Does anyone know how to sort it?
Cheers.

Try turning sync off for calendar , restart, then turn it back on?
Have you tried clearing data from the calendar app? Go into Settings | Apps | All | look for calendar and clear data.
Are you using a custom ROM? Is this for all appointments (google and exchange)?
I had this problem once for the exchange appointments. I resolved it by removing the exchange account, and adding it back again with all settings left at default.
Maybe a problem with the leap year? But then others should also having problems.
I would also remove the calendar, reboot, delete data and re-add the calendar.
Thanks Oogway13.
I tried turning off and on sync with no joy, but deleting the app data under the app "Calendar Storage" did the trick. Everything went (as expected) then opened the calendar app (can't remember if I selected refresh or not) and all my appointments slowly came back. Weird.
I didn't need to reboot or remove-add the calendar app (which I think you can only disable, not remove, on ICS anyway) so that's good.
Just running stock Nexus S ICS ROM (downloaded from this forum) and use stock calendar app for both google calendar and exchange calendar. All had gone missing though!
Glad it's back.
Excellent!! good to know it's working now

Google Calendar post 4.4 Kit Kat Update

Is anyone having trouble with the Google Calendar (from the Play Store, updated on 11/20) since upgrading to 4.4? Whenever I install the Google Calendar from the Play Store it stops the default Moto X calendar from working and neither the Google Calendar or the Stock Calendar work when it is installed.

the "stock" moto X calendar is the "old" Android calendar. why they don't merge when you install the google calendar is beyond me. i had both operational (at the same time) in 4.2.2 and ended up disabling the android calendar. they functionally identical, but only one is updated in the market.
I been wondering about this also. Hopefully this has been fixed in 4.4. It's amazing how Motorola missed this.

With 4.2.2 I was able to successfully "disable" the AOSP calendar under the App settings (unrooted, stock) and the Play Store Calendar would still function fine. After the Kit Kat update, when I disable AOSP calendar, it breaks the Play Store version. This is really annoying because if I leave them both installed, besides the clumsy look of having 2 calendars in the app drawer, I get 2 separate notifications. I suppose I could try disabling notifications on the AOSP version... but anyone have other suggestions or similar experience?
This is odd, on my Verizon moto x DE I just have one calendar app and always have, both on 4.2.2 and the new 4.4. This must only be a problem for other carriers?

Are you sure you've disabled android calendar and NOT calendar storage? I had the android calendar disabled prior to 4.4 and it remained disabled after the update and my Google calendar works fine.

I have a vzw retail version. If you check the market for Google Calendar, you will find that it is not installed. The Moto X comes with the Android calendar and not the Google calendar which is what is odd to me.

I definitely only disabled the android calendar. I have no idea what's up with it. I also wish they had merged (i.e. deleted) the old calendar when they sent the OTA.

I disabled the Android calendar and installed the Google Calendar app on my stock/unrooted Moto X (VZW). Google Calendar doesn't work and now I can't even find the stock calendar in apps to enable it.
Yep, having the same problem... seems like I can only use the stock calendar app. Pretty annoying.

You can re-enable in under Settings->Apps->Disabled tab (far right)
Yes this is very strange, why would they leave the lesser of 2 still hanging around....especially in Kitkat.
Also, make sure under settings, Google, that calender sync is still check marked.
I've had this problem on multiple builds and it drove me crazy. To fix it go to Settings > Apps > All and select Calendar Storage, then clear data. Either calendar should work without issue after doing this.
Here is how I got it to work. Disable Calender in settings>apps>all. Next go to Calender Storage in settings>apps>all. Force stop Calender Storage and clear data. After that install the Google Calender from the play store if you haven't already. Finally, reboot and it should sync with your Google accounts.

So basically exactly what I said in the post above with some extra steps thrown in for bad measure?

Pretty much, except when I just cleared data it still didn't work properly. That's why I had to go through a few extra steps.

When I did it I already had Google Calendar installed from the Play Store and I hadn't disabled the stock Calendar. I've also done it with the stock Calendar removed and only the Google Calendar from the Play Store installed and it worked.
I don't think that disabling the stock Calendar before clearing Calendar Storage data or rebooting afterwards is necessary - at least it wasn't for me, but I never tried it with only the stock calendar installed (I hate the stock calendar!). You might need to go to your account sync settings and uncheck + recheck the Calendar sync to force a sync, but this should happen on its own regardless.

Had to look for an answer to this, since my S3 with the new KitKat wouldn't work. This did the trick, thanks.

No reminders from Google Calendar

I was having problems with the stock calendar app not picking up my reminders from my Google Calendar. Instead, I just installed the regular Google Calendar app however for some reason I am not getting any notifications for reminders. The reminders are definitely in the calendar, and I am notified on my other devices, however it does not seem to work on my Honor 8. Is there a setting I need to tweak to allow this?
Thanks.
Hi,
Do you have any issues with any other apps not showing notifications?
Cheers

Everyting else seems to work fine.
Is there any solution? I have exactly the same problem.
Make sure you allow calendar app full access in settings. I don't use a Google calendar app on this device. But reminders in my Google account and pushed through as well as my regular Calendar app.
This was on Android 6 and now Android 7..
Side note I also have Google Calendar sync up in Google account settings.. Check your setting to see if there similar to my ones..

[PX5][Android 9] Contact access problem

Hello,
Model: rk3368
MCU: MTCE_CHS_V3.15_1
I have a problem with accessing contacts and calendar from Google account. Most Google applications work correctly but Google Contacts says that I should log into my Google account (I am already logged in) but when I do the in app procedure it says that I am already logged in.
This problem shows up also in Waze app that has trouble accessing contacts. It seems like the problem is related to Android system because the same Waze version has no trouble with accessing the contacts on regular Android phone.
I'm running stock firmware. Maybe I should upgrade to Malaysk's version? Do you think it would help?
PS: I ran into this problem because I was trying to find an alternative to Google Maps because Google Maps widget with saved route was not working on this firmware (Google Maps was starting but into the main view instead of starting the route from the widget). Maybe someone could test on Malaysk's version that Google Maps widgets work correctly, please?
I'm here to tell you that I have the exact same problem with Google Contacts -- it is unable to display any of the contacts in my Google account (blank screen), and when I click on the profile button, it guides me through logging into my Google account, only to then tell me I am already logged into the same account.
I have a MTCE_HT_V2.84_1 unit here (Eonon GA9153A).

@cannondale0815 Would you be kind enough to check if you also are unable to search for your contacts in Waze? I clicked to allow contacts access in Waze when it asks but when I enter a name it shows nothing. The same when I search for contacts in the share ride view. I'm asking because I'm debugging this issue with Waze support for several months now.
I tried it yesterday but despite me authorizing Waze to access my contacts, nothing shows up. So I suppose it's the same issue you are seeing.

Hello same problem here on my px30. Impossible to synchronize my gmail account. Google contacts ask me Google duo or Gmail Exchange, nothing work.
I see my contacts in gmail or Google without problem.
I tried contact+ on playstore, it synchronize perfectly but I don't like third app
I tried microg (from youtubeVanced) not working either... crazy Google

Google services (Gmail, play store, etc) worked fine for a couple weeks, now don't

I've had my phone since the beginning of September.
At first I installed play services and the apps, Gmail, contacts, calendar, etc. Gmail notifications and stuff worked fine for 2 weeks but they don't anymore. I don't get notifications for Gmail at all, I have to open the app and manually force a sync. My proton mail app doesn't sync until I open it and force it to. Play store doesn't show updates or anything until I open it. I'm not sure about contacts and calendar sync because I rarely use them.
Play services is up to date...
If it gives any hint, for some reason when I go to the play store on my desktop it thinks the Ultra hasn't been used since September 16th... Even though it obviously has.
I'm not using any power saver mode lately or anything.
Any ideas? Other than waiting for a good AOSP ROM that actually works of course.
You could remove your Google account and install it again? This would be better than wiping it. But if you are going down that line, you might as well unlock your bootloader and flash the EU ROM.
