Database Info

Please help!

I have the AT&T One X... Ive rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, blah blah blah. Im sort of new at this, so when something happens, Im a little clueless. The point of learning, I suppose. Anyway, today I did a factory reset and restored to my earliest backup. The phone booted originally but then said process.android something or other has stopped working. Phone turned off. Now, when I try to turn it back on, it wont go past the boot animation. Its not connecting to my computer to reboot it with a command, either. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and ASAP.

Did you Factory Reset from inside the ROM? Or from TWRP?

From the ROM. Thats when it told me process.android stopped, then went to the htc one x loading screen.

Frankly, my dear, you ****ed up.
Whenever you want to Wipe ANYTHING you have to do it from your recovery (TWRP).
Boot into TWRP by holding the down volume and power, for what seems like a lifetime and try to restore from there?

See, no one told me I couldnt factory reset from inside the ROM. Very handy tip. Im trying the Volume Down/Power thing now. Hope this works. Thanks for the help!

Well I tried holding them down from submitting my last post to opening this one. No luck. Any other ideas?

You should be able to get to bootloader power off phone
Hold volume down
Press and hold power button
Count to ten no really count to ten out loud
Release power button
Keep holding the volume button
It should boot to the bootloader

I finally got to the bootloader! What a relief. Thankfully I work with cell phones, so I had access to this loaner phone so I could find some answers. Maybe one day I'll be able to actually provide some substance! Haha

Now, however, I cant seem to find any ROMs installed on my phone. I know Ive done this somehow before, but how do I get a rom on the phone when the SD card wont mount to my computer?

And when I try to do a factory reset in TWRP it tells me in the dialog: E:Unable to mount /sdcard
Im beginning if this phone and I just werent meant to be. haha

Twrp did the mount thing to me as well. Still plugged USB and PC found the SD anyway. Copied ROM to SD, flash and bingo. Other option is to download the stock RUU.
PS I wouldn't publicly admit u work for at&t. J/k

My computer still doesnt show any connection to the phone. I tried downloading the RUU and when I ran it on PC, it said it couldnt connect to my phone.

When doing RUU, make sure you relock your bootloader. Instructions here http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-re-lock-htc-one-x-bootloader/
make sure you have HTC Sync and drivers installed if you are flashing RUU.

Also when u get into your bootloader, highlight bootloader and select it. After, right above that, in red it will read fastboot usb. Until then your pc wont recognize it.

[S3]cant install cwm recovery

hi. unlock went great but installation of cwm - tried both ones - touch and normal - didnt work. followed the procedure exactly as explained in the thread. what can i do to root my phone?

Download GooManager from the Play Store. Then inside the GooManager App go under Settings -> Install OpenRecoveryScript and Download the file given. Then you can reboot into Recovery and you get the same as CWM.

Seems like I have to root first. How do I do that without recovery? Torxx guide says recovery first and only after that root. I am not a Rom flashing noon (had about 10 customs Rom on SGS) but I can't figure this HTC one s s3 thing out... It beats me. Can you please help me do this? Bootloader is already unlocked, that was the easy part

still no luck. when i try to enter bootloader by pressing pwr btn + vol dn +vol up it doesnt work. when i press just pwr and vol down it enters fastboot. if i click fastboot, then i get a bootloader option, but when i click it it goes back to fastboot. fastboot is disabled in power options. this is really starting to annoy me..... think i will sell the damn phone and go back to samsung ((((((

Have you unlocked the bootloader? (check in the bootloader if it's saying unlocked)
If no, you have to do the whole unlocking process again.
If yes, reboot into bootloader (power down your phone. Press power button and volume down button). Go into fastboot. Plug your device into usb and start install-superboot-windows.bat.

I did that. It was the only solution left. It worked. Thank you again for taking the time to assist me

Did you try the r2 of cwm? I don't think I can post links yet' but modaco had a post for rooting that I used and I had to use the r2 and then it worked. I would google something to the effect of "inurl:modaco root HTC one s" or when I get a chance I'll pm you a link.
Because the cramp just won't go away!

Thanks a lot, my problem was solved. I think I used an older version of that recovery, but at least it worked. From what I read around here the r2 you are talking about is an upgrade, isn't it? Is it somehow better than r1?

[Q] Samsung Skyrocket help

I recently flashed jelly bean 4.1.2 (not the latest but whatever) and when charging it yesterday, it gave a message saying the battery is hot and i checked to see if it was hot and it wasnt. i booted up my phone and it didnt boot up past the samsung logo and cant get it to recovery mode at all. I know there are threads on this but i guess i could start a recent one.

Are you sure you can't get into recovery? If you are, can you get into download?

Now is when you're going to have to do some reading. You will need to odin the stock firmware. Go to the development forum and look for the stickies by vincom. They're you'll find one that will tell you how to return to stock. That's a good thing, because you should never flash if you don't know Odin.

You sure you know how to get into recovery? With the device off hold down both vol keys and power. When you see the Samsung logo only release the power button. Continue to hold the vol keys.

Were you able to get into download mode and connect to Odin and did Odin recognize your phone? You do know how to use Odin?
Were you able to access recovery as suggested by using the power button and volume button combination and maybe restore your back up? You did do a backup before starting?
I don't remember where it is but their are well written steps on how to do both. As someone else suggested read and research. As someone suggested to me "Don't trying to flash custom ROMs until you know how to use Odin to be able to get out of trouble."
Just a suggestion you probably know more about this than I do please don't take it the wrong way

Still, after all this time with the device and people don't know you don't have to hold the keys that long. Device off--->hold power and both volumes until you see the Samsung screen... You can then let go of everything.

Before using odin i read everything i could read if i ever get a problem and started the process. When done and after troubleshooting the same problem still continued. Whenever i try entering recovery, it reboots.

For what its worth when I have a problem I can't find the answer to I Odin back to stock when phone settles I do a factory reset to remove everything on phone. If it reboots okay I start loading everything back into it.
If I run into problems I go into download and Odin back to stock and start over. Sometimes it takes me more than one attempt.
I'm sure their is a better way but I'm no expert. For the most part going back to stock has been the answer then go from their. Hope your phone is not hosed. Good luck.

You don't have to go into recovery to do a factory reset you can go into settings.
A hardware problem is something that will have to be answered by someone way smarter than I.
I use CWM recovery and when I first started flashing I installed it using Odin.
Sorry I have run out of ideas Good luck.
Edit : just throwing this out their you could try replacing the SD Card.

You have to go into recovery to do a factory reset if you can't boot. When you try to boot what does it do? Does it try boot? And then what does it do?

i accidentaly modified the .fsab file in root explorer and when i reboot my phone it doesnt power on anymore. TIA

It's possibly bricked, can it boot to download mode? (Press and hope power+home+volume down)
If yes, it can still be recovered
If no, it's now a very expensive paper weight(you can still look for "how to unbrick your_phone_name")
If it goes to download mode, then tell me, I will guide you further,(you need to remove battery to get out of download mode. No other method to get out of it *except battery drain*)

Just download stock firmware from here: http://www.romkingz.net/2015/09/download-infinix-x501-stock-rom.html
And flash it using SP Flash Tool

I have successfully flashed the phone but the problem now is that my android buttons are not working again!
Home button, recent button and back button are not responding.
What did I do now?

Are those soft keys (buttons present inside screen) or hard buttons (hardware buttons outside screen, on which light may glow) ?
Update:
I just saw that they are hard buttons.
So maybe it's a hardware issue..
Go get it repaired from service center or repair shops.
Or, you can add soft keys on the screen if your phone is rooted..
I'll tell the method once your phone is rooted..

Before flashing the phone, those buttons were working fine but after flashing, they became unresponsive. I have also reflashed the phone again yet the story remain the same.

Before you proceed to the flash, make sure you format the phone with SP Flash Tool first. (Format Whole Flash) should be checked and leave the remain one to (Auto Format Flash). Just do it the same way you flash the ROM. After that Reload your Phone's "Scatter Files" don't unchecked anything, leave it the way it's then Flash the ROM. That's all. You may now get your Navigation bar working now.

Actually, I also have the same problem with my 8.52 oplus and I quickly remove my battery even the process is not done. I tried to clear emmc and wait to be finished. My phone is now working again but my other problem is my brother dropped it on water (TOILET BOWL) and my Internet and Bluetooth doesn't work ? lol.

Hi, please help. I mistakenly pressed the clear emmc on my phone(techno) when it was in factory mode n it is now showing that I need to provide qr code of an organization to unlock the android system. Please how do I go back to the default certain of the phone
