I have reading through the forums and have managed to s-off the phone using moonshine method and installed custom stock ROM
The phone doesn't ask fro any unlock codes but keeps saying PUK locked
Is there a way to do this? If there is a thread with such info please do guide me

I was wondering if you had any luck getting this on a gsm network..I know cricket is CDMA but I have read a few different websites listing the specs for this phone and some say it is GSM capable while others say it is not. Currently I am messing with it to see if I can get it on AT&T. Is this even possible. Thanks in advance.

Hello all, first of all yes I am a NOOB , second , I searched and i have not found any information. basically I have 2 HTC EVO 4G phones and both are locked onto the Sprint network , I have seen tutorials on YT that show how to "unlock" these CDMA phones , I was always under the impression only GSM phones had the ability to be carrier / sim unlocked , am i wrong ? also these videos mentioned that this is NAND Unlock , is this different than carrier / sim unlock ? could some one give me a simple explanation of this nand vs sim unlock difference ? what would be the benefits of unlocking these EVO 4G's if any ? and what would be the best method to go about doing so ? Ive used unRevoke as well as Visionary root methods and i have basic knowledge of how to use the SDK ADB program as well. Can anyone help me clarify all this info please ? thank you so much for your help

No benefit. Because they're CDMA you can't put a different SIM into it. All you could do is switch to a different CDMA network. You'd need to do that through Sprint as far as I'm aware and I don't think they'd be too happy about it =[

I've got my atrix rooted running android 2.3.4 and am looking to unlock it to use with t-mobile. I'm not trying to pay to get it unlocked if theres a free way, but I will if i have to. Also if I unlock the bootloader and use a custom rom will it automatically be unlocked? I've searched and couldn't find any info. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Lets say you found a free SIM unlock for the Atrix and use it for T-mobile, the phone will only get 2g because it doesn't support T-Mobile’s 3g bands 1700/2100. (technically its the 1700mhz band that the Atrix doesn't support).
Hope this gives you some insight.
Honestly anything will work for now. But thanks dude, learned something new
Oh and bump
you might have found this already if you continued your search but
pudding

Hi there,...
i thinking of buying a HTC one s for my girlfriend,... I have some questions and I hope you guys can give some information
I saw that the HTC One S (T-Mobile branded) is beeing selled for about 399€. Non-Branded device is about 450 € +-
My first question,... is it possible to remove the t-mobile branding by installing a original HTC Firmware to this device? Normally this shouldn´t be a problem, right?
Second question: I saw that there are some devices with a new chipset?? Are there any problems with the first chipset or what is the reason for this "second chipset (C2)" ??
I´m little bit afraid of buying a device with the first chipset because 2 month ago I´ve bought myself a HTC One X and it was affected of this WLAN issue,... so I was forced to send it back to Amazon,... Don´t want to experience the same trouble with the One S.
Thanks in advance!!
with best regards

Yeah u can remove all of tmobiles boot stuff by running an ruu on the phone and what ur talking about is s4 chip and a3 chip T-Mobile only sell s4 chip which is the better one

ok, thanks for the answer so far.
Are you sure that t-mobile is just selling devices with a S4 processor?

Does anyone know this t-mo phone will work well with other gsm carriers? Or one'll have to unlock the bootloader first?

TMOUS phone works great on other GSM network, but it depends on your network.. I'm on AT&T with One S and still get HSPA:11
You can just buy an unlock code online or request one from TMOUS if you can, otherwise you need to unlock the bootloader -> root -> follow the sim unlock process on the dev section.
Message me
Hopefully we can figure out FREE sim unlock.
I did for M9 and Desire 626 so far. See thread for proof http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/sim-unlock-method-t3143333
This guy actually works he has unlocked a bunch of my phones from the T-Mobile days

Good point. Although, donation based (optional) not free. I don't remember connecting with you!? Also the software I use only connects the USB drivers remotely. The worst I could do was connect to the Webcam and spy on someone. However they can see the devices I'm connected to and 'lock' any they want. I don't blame you for being sceptical. But how about NOT judging a book by it's cover? Contact me if you require unlock. Thanks
i can deffinitly vouch for this guy he has always helped when i needed it on hangout
I can vouch for Stifilz as well. He successfully unlocked my SIMLOCKED Sprint A9. Working great on T-Mobile with band 4 LTE!

I have the A9 AT&T variant 1.12.617.6 unlocked bootloader, s-off and rooted. SuperCID. Dont really need sim unlock but it's always nice to have just in case. I don't get on here alot but I am on usually once or twice a day.

I already have unlock code but my A9 not accept it.... samwhere read to unlock procedure need all stock system+boot+recovery. Try to flash RUU- no luck again. Not planning flash s-off, but think only flashing unlocked att ruu after s-off could solve my problems. Maybe IMEI change and new unlock code will help.
I was perform unlock any HTC carrier via remote i offer 2 unlocks to proof its works!
