So, I'm already getting tired of plugging into the USB every time I want to transfer file. Is there anyway to transfer file without using the hard wire? WLAN or bluetooth or any suggestion are welcome! Please show me how to do it though! (Because I tried and searched but can't figure it out!)

The phone supports bluetooth FTP, which allows just what you're looking for, I would type up a description but im sitting on the floor typing on my phone.. so maybe someone else can But in a nutshell, pair the 2 devices, (both must support bluetooth ftp), set up a bluetooth ftp share on the phone thru the bluetooth settings app, connect to the phone over bt.
its notably slower than the usb2.0 transfer though.
bluetooth
beam file thru bluetooth from a laptop or pc. set your phone to discoverable under bluetooth settings and on your bluetooth enabled pc you should be able to right click a file and click on sent to... and bluetooth device should be an option. a new screen will show up where you can search for nearby bluetooth devices and the rest should be self explanatory, the default password should be 0000 unless you changed it. hope this helps. bluetooth is rather slow tho. i usually only use this method for small cab files. i use the usb cable or a sd card reader for bigger files.
Great! I finally figured it out. So I have to enable FTP on this phone. lol
Total Commander has a LAN plugin that'll allow you to access samba shares on other computers. should be much faster than transfers via bluetooth as it's done over wifi.
You can also use Activesync.

I can access shares on my computer without samba or Total Commander. I just use file explorer.
This is really easy-peasy.
All you have to do is connect your phone to your Wi-Fi network, and then go into the File Explorer.
Click Menu > Go To > Open Path > New Path...
In the dialog box, type in the path to the share on your PC (yes you need to share the location on your PC that you want your phone to be able to access), for instance;
\\mypc\sharename
Click OK
Now you will be able to browse the folders on your PC and transfer files to/from it to your heart's content, just like you were looking on your own phone's filesystem.

I must be a bit thick. I have my network set up for file sharing, but when I followed your instructions, I get a Network Log On screen and I'm not sure what I need to enter. User name... Password.... Domain.... ????? I'm already logged on securely to my WiFi network, so I do not understand what I should be entering here.
Can someone help me out here?

Sounds like you need to enter your WINDOWS username/password to log in to your windows pc.
You may also need to create some shared folders on the windows pc if you have not already.
As mentioned, my network is already set up for sharing (among several systems) including specific drives and folders.
I already tried using my Windows username and password, without success, which is why I posted my question.
I'm still clueless.
I'd love to get this to work, but I'm not getting anywhere either.
I do have network shares set up.
I'm connected on wifi.
I go to file explorer->Menu->Open Path->New Path and put in \\Laptopt2310\test which is the computer I want to connect to and a shared folder on that computer.
I get a popup pointing to my wifi indicator saying cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings.
If I tap settings, it takes me to a connection set up where it says Verizon Wireless with some options under and My Work Network with some options under that.
The advanced tab has a box for select networks and I have Verizon Wireless in the Internet box and My Work Network in the private network box.
I don't want to touch anything there and screw things up.
It's almost like it's trying to do it over the phone's data connection and not wifi, but I did a quick speed test and at least the internet browser is definitely using the wifi connection.
Well, I figured out that I could also do this in resco and total commander.
Both of them connect fine on wifi. Not sure why file explorer doesn't, but I guess it doesn't really matter now.
What's the secret?
I also use Resco. Can you explain exactly what you did to make a successful connection?
Those of you still trying to use File Explorer, the username, password and domain should be your Windows username, Windows password and the name of your PC respectively.
If you don't get any joy using the PC name as the domain, or in the path dialogue, you can use the ip address instead - it may be that your network is having problems resolving names to ip addresses.
Trust me, it really does work, I've never had a problem using it at home on a perfectly bog-standard wi-fi network, with the shares on a Vista PC (it also worked with Windows 2000 before that).
Obviously, you have to be sure you're using your Wifi network and not GPRS / HSDPA.

I can pair my phone with the computer through bluetooh, but in the bluetooth settings menu when i select my computer I only see 'Wireless Stereo' and 'Headset' as service. Is this because the laptop might not support bluetooth ftp? Its a new Lenovo T400 with built in bluetooth, I figure that should support it?

Don't bother with bluetooth, it's too much hassle, just use the File Manager over Wifi, it's far easier!
But what if I really do want to use bluetooth...?
When I view my bluetooth devices on the laptop I can click properties on my Touch Pro and see the following services: A2DP, Active Sync Bluetooth service, Dial-up networking, Headset audio gateway, Object Push (Obex)
On the phone I go Start->Settings->Connections->Bluetooth and then select my laptop that i'm tethered to and I only see Wireless Steroe, ActiveSync, and headset.
Am I missing drivers on one of the devices? It looks like its possible something wrong on the TP seeing how my vista laptop is listing obex as an option...

We have a discussion going on that I thought the great minds here may have some input on. Is there a way/app that will allow you to control your phone from a remote pc (i.e. RealVNC)? This can be any smartphone. Secondly, if you can use this app to connect/control your phone, can you then remote control a pc via bluetooth?
Scenario. I want to run a location based app and I am on vacation in florida. I log into my laptop and connect to my phone which is located next to my home pc. Then, using a bluetooth connection, remotely control my pc.
The constraint is that the location based app would launch a secure vpn connection, hence why we cannot connect directly to the pc via a remote session.
We would like to see if there are ways and test them. Nothing like trying to beat the system.

I have tried forwarding Remote desktop port on my router, I allowed connections from all users from control panel, I set the allowed number of connections to MAX. I have allowed remote desktop on all my firewalls. I have tried turning off all my firewalls and antivirus programs. I have tried connected from within my network using my wifi connection, and have tried using my data plan to connect remotely to my home pc. I tried having a password on my windows user account, and tried removing the password. I tried everything possible, computer name, local ip.. etc etc etc.
IT JUST NEVER WORKS. I tried searching for this problem, and found users that have had the same problem, their problem each time was left UNRESOLVED. everyone suggests stuff from the ones I listed above. Others have suggested using different applications for remove connection. but I WISH i can see the microsoft Remote desktop working!!!
I also have tried connecting to my windows 7 ultimate computer and to my windows xp home edition computer... same problem.
I had this working fine on my touch pro,
now Im using HD2 and it never worked for a second, I tried it soon as I got my phone from tmobile, I flashed 100000000000000 million different rooms after, still wouldn't work. I tried all the tweaks, adding a dot or a slash etc etc after the username, NOTHING worked,

Im not using android, Im using windows mobile on HD2. I tried different applications, web based and not, they don't work as well as ms remote desktop.
Please don't bite my head off if this repetitive to you. But this is something I posted on a model train site (yeah I play with trains what are you gonna do about it). Give a quick read and make sure your not skipping anything. Copied from post and full read is HERE.
To connect using Remote Desktop, you must have a user account with a password. If you don't yet have a password on your account, create a password by opening Control Panel, and clicking User Accounts. Click your account, click Create a password, and follow the prompts. After you have a password, follow these steps to enable Remote Desktop:
1.Right-click My Computer, and click Properties.
2.On the Remote tab, click the Allow users to connect remotely to this computer check box.
Close window.
Learn IP address of host computer (one with train software). To find this double click on the Network connection icon in the system tray,click the support tab. Or open your router's control panel, find the area that shows you the Attached Devices and copy down the number under IP.
Go to another computer on your network.
Go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/Remote Desktop Connection
In the computer box enter that IP address and click connect and you should know your password and specific user name.
Once you have established a computer to computer connection here are some mobile device instructions.You can use any Wifi enabled pocket pc or pda. Must have Remote Desktop Mobile installed (check programs folder).
Before you can connect using a mobile device Wifi connection must be established. After that find and launch "Remote Desktop Mobile" on your mobile device.
The Desktop Remote Mobile program is very basic. It shows Status : Not Connected and 4 blank boxes. This is what I put in them to get this to work, Careful with those automatic spaces after words!
Computer: The LOCAL ip address of the desktop computer you are trying to access. (Usually 192.168.#.#- the last 2 digits are specific to your computer.) To find this double click on the Network connection icon in the system tray,click the support tab. Or open your router's control panel, find the area that shows you the Attached Devices and copy down the number under IP.
User name: This is the user name on your train host computer that you setup in Winxp of the user you want to access.
Password: This is the password for that same user name. YOU MUST USE A PASSWORD. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE, SET ONE UP ON YOUR DESKTOP OR IT WILL NOT CONNECT.

Domain: Leave it blank
Click Connect.

There are a lot of WiFi server apps in the market, e.g. Swiftp (swift ftp).
The app should be run on either the TF or your android phone (some of these things work on iphones too i think) and then you either type in an http192.168.1.3:8080 or similar into the web browser to connect to the other device as a file manager OR,
you get given an FTP:// address by the app which you need an FTP client for on your device (again there are plenty in the market e.g AndFtp).
This should allow you to use WIFI to browse the other device's files and transfer things between them.
I have my phone and TF connected to my home router, one is 192.168.1.3 the other is 192.168.1.6 for the IP's but whatever apps i try or anything I do I cannot get them to connect to each other. I just get "host not found" or "connection error".
How can I get this to work?????
