i'm just wondering if anyone had successfully change the green htc logo on boot... i'm talking about the htc logo that appears right after we turn the phone on, not the bootanimation... and i'm asking this because on my previous phone i was able to do that by unpacking the boot.img with kitchen and replacing the logo.rle... and i've tried the same method with a boot.img of explorer(pico) and i got stuck on that htc logo (the green one).. so i've failed, i guess.. has anyone manage to get this done? just wondering! (sorry for some misspelling )
thanks
dunno....

but, the rle was a t-mobile logo. maybe it would be displayed if there was a sim-lock... (not likely in pico's case).
and, btw, it is not always the logo.rle in all oems...

Hey guys,
Between all the flashing that I've been doing, I seem to have replaced the original 'M' boot logo with the one that has the little kid pissing on the 'M', lol. I think the logo's nice, but I definitely prefer the stock one. Anyone know how I can revert back to that? So after some googling, I've been trying to use RSDLite to flash the Red Motorola logo sbf, check the link...
http://www.peteralfonso.com/2011/07/download-updated-motorola-boot-logo-for.html
I've been trying over and over and the flash keeps failing, does it have anything to do with the fact that the sbf is meant for the Droid X? If I can't flash the red logo, then can anyone help me get the original logo back?
Any help appreciated guys, thanks!

motologo.zip is the original. You can restore it using nandroid.
Thanks MZ!
I just updated my boot animation to a custom theme, but it seems the splash screen loads far more slowly. I would think it makes more sense to put an animated file there, but I am having trouble finding one. Can I simply load a .zip file to the location of the splash screen, or will that not work?
As I read more about this, it seems it might not be possible to have an animated splash screen. Has anyone been able to get around this?
From what I understand the .img file for the splash can not be animated.
There is no work around that I have ever seen.

Could you just disable the splash screen altogether and just have a custom boot animation?

No the image is needed....But you can make it black or another solid color instead.
Any idea where the splash screen is hidden away?
The splash screen is a mtd partition like the HBOOT is but is called SPLASH1.I think on the G1 There was SPLASH1 and SPLASH2 iirc.
You cannot remove the SPLASH1 as its kind of like the BIOS loading screen on your computer, It checks files are there before moving on to the bootanimation (POST BIOS if you like) You could always use the first frame of your bootanimation as the splash so it looks like it hangs before loading?
Yeah, that's what I intend to do. If you left it blank, you wouldn't even know it's turning on if it wasn't for the vibrate!
Just need to find a way for me to edit my splash screen then.

There is a thread in the apps and theme section right above your post about a livewallpaper that has a good splash tool.

Yeah, just tried it. It won't let me pick my own image though for some unknown reason!
In the Coredroid ROM thread there is another splash tool in the first few post.

It's okay, figured it out. That splash flasher batch file is written wrong.
What's happening is it's converting your image to custom.img, but it then tries to push splash.img onto the phone. There was already a splash.img bundled in the zip file, hence that was the one that kept showing up!
Is my HTC Desire S bricked? It is stucked at the white HTC boot screen.
In september I got the MIUI rom up and running, now when I am about to sell my phone, I decided to go back and restore it. So I changed the ROM and then it wouldn't update it just stucked at exclamation point-screen, so I searched forums and found that I had to flash it. So I did with this one: RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.11_M_release_177977_signed.exe
Which I got from a list in this forum, went fine and my phone booted allright, so I went in and tried to update it via settings, it installed and now it is stucked at this white HTC bootscreen.
Is it bricked, or what do I do now?
Thanks.
download RUU_Europe_2.10.401.8 and use it

Unfortunately that doesn't work neither ... Any ideas?
Btw, thanks for the help
Well, I found out that I can go in to the fastboot mode, from revolutionary.
Isn't it called fastboot? Where you can choose factory reset, recovery etc.
Factory reset and recovery doesn't work though, when I try to recover I see a screen with a HTC Desire (not S) and a exclamation mark on it, what now?
