[Q] Flashing a different Kernel - HTC One S

So I'm running my One S with Codename Lungo using the 3.0.80 Kernel.
Prior, I Was using the LiquidSmooth 2.4 with the Twisted Kernel, which I really liked.
Is flashing the Kernel as simple as taking the boot.img from the LiquidSmooth.zip and flashing it via fastboot after flashing Codename Lungo using TWRP?
I have HBoot 2.15.0000 and radio 1.13.50.05.31 if any of that matters...

Yes it should be to my knowledge but I could only use one kernel because others didn't have a boot.img but that was while I was s-on
If you have s-off then in theory you don't need to flash boot.img via fastboot
Edit: obviously flash the kernel in recovery straight after the ROM not just the boot.img because you forgot to mention that in your post

When i flash a kernel do i need to flash the boot.img from fastboot?

Do i need to flash the boot.img from the kernel from fastboot before installing the kernel from recovery? Or if this is completely wrong and im crazy, could someone correct me
Many thanks!
Depends on your Hboot. I'd downgrade it if yours is 1.14 or higher

ViperSAGA 2.1.1 Wifi not working

Hi, I flashed rom, but wifi is not working.
If someone could assist me with hboot and radio?
With other roms I had no trouble with anything, so some assist with hboot and radio would be needed to get this rom working.

I don't think this can have anything to do with radio or hboot. I assume you flashed the boot.img after flashing the Rom and after every kernel installation (the boot.img from the kernel you flashed)?

You are htcdev unlocked, still s-on. This means you can't write to the /boot partition from recovery, only through fastboot. So after flashing a new Rom or kernel, you have to extract the boot.img and flash it manually in cmd.

S-off?

So what would S-off do for me? I have hboot 1.14, super Cid, rooted, and twrp installed running the latest ViperXL rom.

Pretty much you can flash anything through recovery...right now if you were to flash any other Rom than viper you'd have to fastboot flash the boot.img...so you can flash different radios splash screens hboots(through fastboot) and others...go do it it's painless

AOKP curious

I was wondering, im on viperXL rom and was curious to know if i have to flash a boot.img when using AOKP

if you are s-on then yes if s-off depends if the dev has scripting in his rom to flash the boot.img then you dont. just fastboot flash the boot .img to be safe it took longer to make this post than to flash it
If you are not s-off I recommend you do so. It is simple to do and well worth it.

After flashing a new rom you need flash the kernel through fastboot
Extract the boot.img from rom.zip

All They Gave Me Was The ROM but I Would Like To Go To Stock
The boot.img (kernel) will be inside the .zip that you flashed you need to extract it out
There are a few ROMs that are based off of stock that you can flash, which in mind (and probably everyone else's) opinion will be that much better than stock, maybe choose one of those to flash? And as far as I know you won't need need to flash the kernel afterwards as its based off stock but can't say for sure, never been s-on before

All I Want Is The The Stock Software back and maybe a different kernal
the choice is yours of course, but before your flash back to stock consider THIS
It is nearly entirely stock only faster and smoother, if you dont like this or any of the other stock based roms follow the guides to return to stock, then just flash or push busybox and su to have a 100% stock/rooted rom

That's cause its stock and the first go round of OC kernels weren't stable at all.
