Hello everyone !
I have made an application that clears all applications caches with a single click, but I get mixed comments about it, with people saying that it doesn't work for them.
It is available on the market, under the name CacheCleaner (org.lsartory.cachecleaner).
I would require your help, as these users won't give any information that will help me debug.
Please tell me, if it doesn't work for you, which ROM you are using.
Also, I could use some help with translations to make the app more user friendly..
Thanks !
Worked fine for me, running CM 5.0.6
Thanks for testing !
Works for me! (HTC Dream, CM 4.2.15.1)

cm 5.0.6 with nextheme and intersects avs kernel
Worked fine for me - HTC Desire, rooted stock rom with busybox installed.

That's good to hear, I had no feedback from Desire users so far.
(Except from non-rooted users, but that's pretty useless obviously)
Has worked on both my devices, Magic running CM 4.2.15 and Hero on BeHero, Villain & Kimera
Hello Also working like a dream on my Desire, Have been using it for the last 4-5 days and usually clear around 1-2mb per go, My Desire is also rooted with busybox and apps 2 sd.
Thanks for the app, its very handy and works very well indeed
Gz
Well, that's great. Thanks for the feedback everyone !
I'll assume that people rating 1 star don't have root and/or can't read, then.. ?
Been using for a while and i love it! works great in my G1 with cyanogen 5.0.7. Been able to clear up to 7mb of cache! Great program I've had no issues.

Hey, I need your help again..
Can anyone help me translate the app ?
I could use new languages, or corrections for the existing ones.
Thanks !
Hi! Your app seems to be exactly what I'm looking for but I cannot find it on the market on my SE X10 mini pro. Can you help?
Hi guys!
I'm using standard Gingerbread Android ROM and I'm getting a little tired of it so wanted to ask if someone could suggest some ROMs to try. Also, I'm not sure how to flash them on Nexus S. I heard that there are many Androids that can be rooted by clicking one button in an app, but for Nexus I found a long tutorial here on XDA and I'm a little hesitant to try it.
Any tips will be appreciated!
Thanks much

I have tried out just about all of the roms out there now for the nexus s and now I have reverted back to stock. I have found something wrong with every rom I have tried. Custom roms are just too buggy for me even ones marked as "stable". If you're willing to deal with bugs things not working phone reboots and dropped calls by all means try some custom roms. Now I'm just waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich to come out.
oxygen rom is one of the better ones out there.
oh and btw nexus s is one of the easiest phones to root follow the guides carefully and you'll be done in minutes.
This has been discussed couple of times here, do a search.
For example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239365
If you don't really feel comfortable flashing a ROM, hang around in dev section where most ROM & guidelines are available and read the feedback from users on each ROM and see which one fits your needs.
And there are NO best ROM only most suitable to your needs, what is best for others doesn't necessarily fit your needs.
I'm with blowtorch, you have to try it to find out yourself...I myself did and at the end of the day I'm perfectly comfortable with stock rooted.
The longer and harder thing to root a Nexus is to installer drivers on computer. After it's fast and easy.
Oxygen is great after 2 or 3 days. I use adw launcher ex, or stock launcher.
Sms, mms, video gtalk, video skype and so on.
Everything is juste ok.
2 days of battery life with heavy use.
I try ns collab, superosr, it's great too. More cyanogen like.
I never use miui more than 5 minutes...but i read and heard that it's a good rom too.
I love Ice and Fire. Has an Ice Cream Sandwich style launcher. Lots of extras.

This x100.
Stock Rom may not be flashy but its rock solid and fully functional.
I once searched for something like this and found that there's no clear cut answer for "best" ROM. Like others said try them all (one you figure out how to flash) or do watch videos showing off each rom to get a sense of what it's like. I don't have my NS yet but I'll be trying NSCollab and SuperOSR when I get it. Odd considering I'm not a CM7 fan...
Depends on the features you are looking for. For me at least, I got the Nexus S so I could have stock AOSP. I've been sticking with Oxygen for a while now as its close to stock with some useful added features. CM wasn't for me though I may give it another shot soon.
There's a lot of tutorials on youtube that show you how to flash a ROM. I suggest you watch a few of 'em to get an idea how to do it properly.
As for the best ROM, like others have said, it all depends on your needs. I use Oxygen because it's very stable and has extra features that I find pretty useful.
I also like minimal bloatware so I downloaded ES File Explorer and removed most Google apps since I never use 'em!

I read about it already, and the question is - is there a simpler way to root Nexus S than installing all of these SDKs etc on the computer? I guess, not from what I see here.
Don't worry, I won't **** my pants)
there is one...give it to someone who knows how to do it.
You are asking for best ROM, how to flash it, finding simpler way to root it without installing SDK, etc. on computer....and that's the only way I can think of.

This guide should be simple enough to follow.
1-CLICK-ROOT (Windows)
Download link {Updated with CWM 5.0.2.3 (cyan) and su-3.0.4-efgh}
Note: Don't forget to install the corresponding x86 or x64 drivers through the PdaNet setups.

cm7.1.0 RC ns-kang. its in rom manager. there is a 7.1.0 stable release but causes random reboots.
Ok guys this is just for fun.
It has been over 2 years since I have G3 with me. I still remember the first few weeks trying to search what even "rooting" means. Then i saw a link for CyanogenMod, and that was it. I just scanned google for that. Then I stumbled up on rudolf895, Indroid 3.0 ROM. I watched his youtube video about 10 times, after which I got the confidence of doing so. The first time when i used odin and it was when it came till some 6 mins i was like WTF!!! Because rudolf's video showed the pass message in some 5 mins. When the phone booted i was totally excited to see something new. Finally when the phone started running I clamed down.
Now I dont know how many roms i have flashed, but still that excitement is still there in me.
Hey, how did you feel when you were flashing your first rom? Did it go right? How was it when you reached the new phone screen. Tell me.

After messing around with system files my rooted eclair g3 soft bricked... Flashed kyrillos' v.3, if I remember correctly, keeping my fingers crossed . Never looked back

and i must give props to all the dev's on xda! your work is so much better then what samsung has shown me so far! its actually at the point where its ridiculous that a large company like samsung is out smarted in dev terms by a community forum.

Indroid 4.0. And just like you i saw his video too! =D
I almost **** bricks when flashing my first ROM. Sad to say I wasn't too pleased with it. It was too jazzy and it had too many features that I never used. Then I switched to Kyrillos' and I must admit, it was a great ROM.
2.1->2.2 dunno which rom exactly ;d by odin, because kies said that i have newest update (always the same ). And it didn't work (dunno why), then i installed another one 2.2 and worked. Later i installed kyrillos rom and i'm using it until now
I used Lestatious then kyrillos, i used CM7 and come back to kyrillos .
I want to say thanks to the devs of those rom Thhe Dark Lestat Marcellusbe Kyrillos13
When one of friend saw my phone with CM7 i wanted it i said go on XDA and the next time i meet him he was using CM and he just love it i'm sure he 'll continue to use it

my rom is xxjpf
Indroid v5 was my first
I was really disappointed because the kernel was not very good with my phone and it was really slow and laggy. At first it was fine and i loved the looks but then it just went downhill. Also, when i was flashing, it came to the triangle screen with android image on it. I waited on that screen for over 3 hours and then rudolf replied to my message telling me to press the menu button. Then i flashed Kyrillos 7.0 the next day and loved it!
Now i think stock ROM's are a lot faster for me anyway. I'm not rooted or anything of that sort and my phone is working perfectly with no lags etc. I always had one problem or another with every ROM i used.

I had exact same problem when i was using 2.1. This is why i started flashing custom ROM's but now i flash stock ROM's using odin.
My first rom installed was the Leshak' Samdroid's Rom on my GT-I5700 .
Eclair FTW
Hello everyone, I am new on this community, so, I am sorry if I am going to ask something that was already answered. I have searched an answer to this particular question but could not find one.
I got my hands few weeks ago on a Milestone XT720, and for real .. I love this phone. Except, it came with "Dexter's Froyo" .. and it gets stuck sometimes, it freezes and I need to take out the battery in order to restart it and maybe few more bugs that I cannot recall.
So, I was thinking about getting the Stock Eclair ROM but then I thought maybe I can get something better. So, here is my question:
What is the best ROM for XT720 at this moment?
As far as I saw, the phone has already a different ROM (as mentioned above : Dexter's Froyo) , so, it won't probably need a root. Correct me if I am wrong. So, the flashing another ROM should be kind of simple at this point.
I am asking all this stuff because I do not really want to burn it.
Suggestions? Tips?
Thank you.

I couldn't find one that was answering to my exact question. Anyway, I just finished installing the CM 7.2 which looks pretty nice and also moves kind of smooth.
Is there a better ROM than this one at this moment ?
Also, if you find the time to answer to my question, I would really appreciate if it would be a helpful answer.

Cm 7.2 is great. Actually most stable ROM are cm6 and cm7. So, if you want to make your opinion just backup your ROM and try CM 6.

CM 7.2 actually turned to be a very unstable ROM for me. It restarted from time to time (sometimes every few minutes, I guess because of the high load - I tend to use many apps at the same time). After about 24 hours I flashed the default 2.1 eclair and updated it to CronosX which have restarted just once since then. At this moment I am pleased by this. It is very fast, compared to CM 7.2 which tented to freeze at some point. I am going to try the CM 6.3 RC4 in a few days.
Thanks for your answer. :good:

Use this cm6 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24044052&postcount=1224
Flash recommended zip and gapps.
But don't try to use 2 apps at same time : xt720 have poor ram (256mb) so it make crash.
I am still using my SK4G. Love it! and there really are some excellant roms here for it. I was wanting to use the aroma installer, can I use this with any rom? Or does the rom have to have it included already? If I can use this with any rom, do I just flash it after I flash the rom or ?????
Thanks for any help, and sorry if this has been addressed. I have been searching and combing through everything here, and chasing down files and all that fun stuff, so it can be a bit of a mess to untangle now that I have jut about everything I was wanting.
There is only one ROM with aroma options during the initial flash but I believe it still had some issues where ricandroid and I left off.
There was a thread with an aroma install for various apps and mods which I believe yo are referring to, and yes that can be used with any ROM (except for the not finished gingerbread port) it can be flashed at any time. So if you flash a ROM and like it, then flash that aroma installer and you can customize the ROM currently on device.
I hope someday to pick up where I left off and even hopefully work on a gingerbread ROM where xindixix left off.
There are still a few people on this forum who are left and are glad to answer any question, even a few willing to do some work for the sk4g so long as someone will use it...
