CyanogenMod 11 would be great
maybe should work on camera to have full screen instead of half screen when viewing. For me, unattractive

the new 4.3 camera has 16.9 screen size but only if 2mp is selected. ( would be nice to see this modded to work with the max setting )
Not specifically relevant to One S. Closed

Does anyone know how many mega pixels the FFC has? I know it's VGA, I was just wondering if there was a MP count attached to that as well. I can't seem to find it in a Google search.

3 I think..
Ya the FFC is VGA = 640x480 which is 0.3MP.
Thanks! I make the BIOS boot animations for the MT4G and I wanted the camera info to be accurate!
NP, I just looked in to your project as you know jeckyll I used his on HD2 as I just got the phone like week ago I might later put your splashscreen it looks good.
Thanks! I'm just finishing up one for CM7. I have to go back and fix up the one for 2.2 to match this one. I'll also be uploading a matching splash screen for the newest versions.
PS: Sorry to thread-jack!
Hi all -
I'm using the latest nightly of Cyanogen 7, but this issue has been present for a few months now. I keep hoping the latest nightly will fix it, but I'm starting to worry that it's a hardware issue.
It's gritty and just very low quality overall. Is this a known issue? Or did my camera get messed up somehow.
Thanks for the help!
It isn't letting me post a link to the image, but I can shoot you a link if you're willing to help.
Try and install MIUI camera onto it.

Can't find it in the market. Any chance I can get a link?

I tried the MIUI camera, still seems pretty grainy
Oh how long have that been happening?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Just looked back to a picture I took at the end of February and its pretty grainy. It seems to have been getting worse and worse though.
Can you post a picture?

I can after approximately 8 posts :\. This is post 5. I'll PM you tho.

If your pics are grainy in low light, then that is normal. The camera in this phone is not the greatest in low light situations. If outdoor/brightly lit pics are grainy, then something is probably wrong with your camera sensor.
alright and have you tried a different ROM and see if that worked?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Well I started with Revolution (with Sense) and then moved to Cyanogen. I checked photos back to when I probably had Rev and they were still grainy.
I just checked some of the outdoor photos I've taken. The ones where there's ample light turn out pretty well, but when its a bit overcast or in the woods it's still pretty crappy.
Guess I just have to deal with it.
Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it.
I would suggest playing around with the White balance, ISO, and metering mode. I've been able to improve the low light quality of most of my pictures.
currently using MIUI Camera with nice results. might want to try using another camera app like camera360
Sorry for my noobness... but I flashed the paranoid ROM for my one S, the ROM is awesome except I don't like the new camera UI(It has a solid bar that takes up 1/4 of the screen, just for the shot button...), and I don't know if its possible to change this?
Another thing is how am I able to get beats Audio after custom ROM?
thanks in advance!
Paranoid is based of CM10/9 (main point is its stock android) so you will not be able to use the sense camera as it requires the sense framework. Basically, the camera requires HTC's proprietary camera drivers that are only available in sense-based roms like viper. Unless some magical developer with amazing skills comes along, it will never be possible. Now for beats, i have a solution and its called Awesomebeats.

i personally don't like it as i prefer a flat sound without any EQ changes but whatever, to each there own.
Hope i helped
Thanks! that helps a lot!
so if im not mistaken, it means that basically all the stock CM9/10's camera UI has that huge bar taking over the screen, and resulting smaller pictures?
what if I install some third party camera software and use those instead, do I get the same basic performance(pic quality) from my camera?
Didn't virtuous team achieve something like this over in the sensation boards? Basicly a real senseless Rom that kept the camera but replaced basicly everything else with aosp stuff all within the HTC framework? That would be really interesting if someone can achieve that for us since we all love aosp but want to keep the camera

Yes and no. Im going to assume that when you took your pictures on sense, you left the widescreen setting, meaning the pictures you took with the sense camera are actually smaller. When left in widescreen, they cropped from the top and bottom resulting in a 6 MP widescreen shot. The AOSP camera takes the full 8 MP. Dont be fooled by the aspect ratio

Yea but too bad the quality ain't the same, google should really consider better cameras for stock I mean that's all a nexus device really lacks anyways

This is really one of the biggest drivers for people sticking with sense-based ROMs over AOSP and/or AOKP-based ROMs.
So, if you want the stock camera - look at the sense-based ROMs on the forum.

well i did extensive tests, both low and well lit situations, quality is the same. As a matter of fact, maybe even slightly better on AOSP. There is less compression, and can be seen when zoomed in. The only difference between the AOSP camera and Sense is the speed and functionality. And if youre using a Nexus, the speed of the camera is insanely fast. Look up videos on youtube, the nexus has a good camera.
Change to the viperone s Rom its great and you keep the camera from the original Rom

alot of people in other forums i read say that SENSE stock camera is superior than the CM camera.

Definitely. Stock takes a much smaller picture, more square-sized, and is quite often blurred on mine. Sweep panorama is the only upside to the stock Android camera.
184 is from sense
547 is from liquids ROM

It has HDR but it's not that good and often appears blurry because the camera drivers aren't perfect yet
Here's the KitKat standalone camera app, compiled from source with no modifications.
It should work on 4.0 and up.
This doesn't include Photosphere and really isn't much different to the 4.3 camera.
Maybe it's just my device, but the camera is very laggy. I'm running stock ICS (Touchwiz) on my Ace II X.
Tx bro..
Work @andromax v( indonesia) or zte n986..

Try it and see but the 4.3 google camera (with gallery) is really much more usable.
This doesn't play videos and the menu is a bit slow to open.
I still can't see a difference between stock jb camera app.
Sent from note, a phone like never before
Runs good, but only pictures up to 8mp...
Would be nice to add an option to get better quality
Thank you

I'm not going to make any modifications to this, it is what it is, if you want a better camera there's plenty of choice.
I cant choose another location to save my images. I want them to my SD Card. Stock JB is better.
I installed the camera app as per your instructions but everytime I take a pic, the app freezes and I have to restart my phone for it to work again (only for it to freeze after another pic).
I am on cm10.2. Any idea on how to correct this?
