So I updated my bootloader to 4.2 fine, now I'm unable to install twrp, fastboot just comes back with:
sending 'recovery' (7872 KB)... FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))
or sometimes I just hangs on sending...
I can't do anything :/
can anyone help?
Are you sure you are using the correct version of twrp? It is bootloader specific and in my experience WW OR US specific. Make sure you are using the 4.2 compatible version. If that is all good, try downloading again. Maybe you got a bad download or bad cable

Yeah everything's fine, it just keeps giving that error, I'm just grateful it does work, just can't flash any ROMs on it, stuck with stock

My guess is something is wrong with your Windows installation of the Android SDK. Perhaps the USB drivers of your tablet as well?

Try a different USB port. I had this same problem when I used the front port on my computer. Once I moved to the back port everything worked like a dream. If that doesn't help it might be a bad cable.
Okay new problem, I got that working, and i flashed the 2.5 4.2 bootloader, but nothing works, nothing would boot, and now the recovery says version is 2.4.3.0, but the downloaded file that i flashed says its 2.5.0.0-4.2, it cant mount anything, I cant even get back to the fastboot screen, it just boots to recovery
edit: it can only mount the system partition too, nothing esle :/

I have soft bricked my phone 3 times due to my recovery not sticking. I followed the OneXRoot.com instructions. When I flashed the TWRP on the terminal ( I use mac) it says sending ok booting ok then boots onto the recovery. Once I restart the phone and try to get back in recovery its either a bootloop or black screen, phone and red triangle. I've tried ./fastboot-mac flash and boot with the .IMG file name. Please help.

That's hopeful. Do what gunnyman said. If that doesn't solve your problem than see if you can get Windows running via Boot Camp or the risky virtual machine.

I think a good first step is to verify you're rooted and the bootloader is still unlocked.
pushing an image to the phone SHOULD fail if it's locked but stranger stuff has happened

Ok so installing TWRP through GooManager WORKED. Thanks. That's one issue fixed. Now flashing another Rom is the issue. I've tried slim ics and cm9 and after pushing the img file ad flashing Rom in recovery I get an error. Something about assert failed. Any idea what that could be?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
You're flashing roms not meant for your phone. Use roms in our development section only.

For slim ics I know it said htc one x....maybe not for the att version. I'll keep that in mind and look around. I guess no stable aosp roms out. Thanks a lot for your help. I'll repost if I run to ant other issues
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
There's AOKP, CM9, Paranoid Android, MIUI, just to name a few stable AOSP roms available. All you have to do is stay within this forum..no need to wander off to the international One X forums

Lol..feel so dumb. I think that's where I was. Might not know this but is the aosp issue still goin on with the lockscreen when calls come through? I liked miui on the evo but had a ring delay when calls came through

Okay, problem solved.Using the "ADB push" method will do.By following this guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929 Just simply push the ROM into the SD card through fastboot mod,and flash the ROM,then everythings work fine. The ROM I used is Nexus S original ROM download from net.

Fastboot was working because you were in bootloader. Adb requires you to be booted into a ROM with usb debugging turned on.

OK so the other day I was using my phone and it had cm10.2 on it. The phone started to act up so I went to recovery (cwm) and wiped everything but the sdcard. When I went to flash a new ROM the recovery said that it couldn't mount the sdcard so I instantly think OK let me try to flash twrp and this is where the issue come in...... I'm using Ubuntu and when I go into fastboot mode and plug the phone up Ubuntu/adb won't see the phone. I ran "adb devices" and it shows that the phone isn't connected even though in looking right at it and its plugged in.... Any ideas? Because I'm fresh out of them XD

I know that, I said both because both of them aren't working. I did it on windows no problem but I still would like to know why it wouldn't pick up. I had the phone in fast boot and put in fastboot flash recovery (file location here) and got stuck on waiting for device. Did it on my moms windows computer no problem though

Most likely something, who knows what, was interfering with the driver
Sent from my One Xl using xda app-developers app
As of now fastboot isn't working on Windows 8.1 due to driver issues. This might be the explanation for your problem.

I get an error when I try to fastboot flash system system.img. It doesn't appear to write the system.img to the phone. It downloads but doesn't seem to write and I get an error that says sp space is not enough.
I have a dev edition unlocked and was trying to return to stock anticipating the update.

moto fastboot. I am using the same computer/sdk/fastboot that I was using just a couple of days ago when I wasn't getting the error. FWIW it doesn't seem to actually affect anything. I just flashed twrp, formatted system, booted back to the bootloader and flashed the system and got the same error but the phone boots fine so it must be writing the system image. I am still perplexed as to what the error is. I had never seen it before until last night.
