hi friends,
i have just f*cked up my desire S!! pls help me out!!
i have done S-OFF with XTC - Clip and also ENG HBOOT,
i tested some coustom roms on my new device till now.
now i tell you what i did:
i had this rom on my device:
[ROM] 06-13-2011 SAGA LBC MOD v0.5.1 link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048203
then i wiped all data and cache over costum recovery (vers. 3.2.0.0)
after wiping i flashed this rom:
[ROM][Jun 14] Virtuous Unity 1.24.0 Sense 3.0 based on Pyramid link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122797
and rebooted my phone!
i also read that the recomanded radio for this rom is:
Recommended radio: 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2
but i downloaded the wrong radioimage - file and i flashed instead this one:
http://files.virtuousrom.com/vision/radio/Vision_RADIO_12.52.60.25_26.08.04.30_M3.img
i flashed the radiorom with fastboot ober adb - everything was OK but i took the wrong radio ROM so after reboot the device does NOT boot!!!!
AND i cant get to BOOTLOADER or recovery!!! USB is also bricked!!! my PC can not find my device ( ADB)
so i NEEED help pls help me out devs!!!
i don't think the desire s has JTAG. i could be mistaken though.
does the phone register as a usb device at all when you connect to usb and push the power button?
PUSH
@ all devs in here!!!
pls help me out if possible,
NO bootloader, no USB (ADB), no recovery, NOT booting --> is my device DEAD?!?
is there any chance to get back to life without any further hardware (JTEG - BOX)?!
nothing happens when i conect my desire s to my pc!
well to 99,9999% except if you are hardware developer and know how to write to the chip directly - yes it is dead
So, this means if you flash the wrong radioimage, it can kill your phone?

yes, i had bricked 1 year ago my htc magic with this
depends on the device, for example my old DHD recovered it's radio after i flashed a raido of the desire z, so it looks liek some devices got a protection against it
anyway, wondering why the desire s didn't has that protection when the dhd has, but can be duo locked down bootloader so they won't need it
i have to say i am surprised that flashing the wrong radio breaks it. the bootloader should remain unaffected by this and therefore still kick in and allow to flash a correct radio rom

I'm also very suprised but its a fact. Anyone know how to get it back to life? I read times ago about MYTTI I hope it the right name. Can this help me out.

I have always been told flashing the wrong radio will cause a brick. This thread seems to explain it for me. But whether this goes for every device I don't know.
Thanks for the link, L0cke.
But the initial question from the OP in that thread never got a precise answer...
"All I'm asking is to know exactly what is the real, down and dirty dynamics behind the radio flashing danger so I can be absolutely sure to avoid it in the future. I have yet to see a truly understandble explanation of this."
Can someone answer this in understandable words?
I actually never flashed a radio with my old Desire, even though I flashed roms like crazy and it always worked for me. I knew that flashing a radio is a critical process, so I thought unless something didn't work at all, I don't need to touch this radio stuff...
Over 600 views but no answer so far. I fear that I really ****ed up my new device.
If any dev knows a solution pls help. Remember I have S-OFF and ENG-hboot also.

if there is absolutley no life in it then its bricked and you cant do a thing anymore besides going to the store and tell them in the morning when you woke up it didnt turn on anymore.
ive done that with a samsung galaxy s 1 and i got a new one under warranty
if there is any sign of life then tell precise what kind of life there is in the phone then there mgiht be a chance of recovering it i think
i mean when you plug it in the ac will the charging light burn?
when you turn it on will there be any message on the screen?
if nothing is seen do you see the backlight of the screen turn on but dont display a thing

Any idea about fastboot commands?
As it still turns on it should be able to do something.
Instead of booting bootloader could you try recovery with vol UP and power
What happens when you do that?
Edit: not sure if that whas the combo as it dont work on my dhd. Will try it tonight when i get home on my gf here desire s

Have you remove sdcard + sim and than Boot in bootloader?
Also you can try to install the radio Form a New formated sdcard.
Volume UP and power is the same only startscreen.
Fastboot command need working adb

Hello, I have a question
I had on my sensation a custom rom
But i wanted back on a stock rom.
So now, i flashed a PG58IMG,but I have not thought about it that I no longer have root.
I've successfully instaled it, but when I start the mobile phone now I'm just the htc logo and no further.
So guys, anyone can help me with my problem.
I Think he bootloader is broken
I recommend going on youtube to find a solution, just search "how to get back to stock rom" or something like that, i am sure something will pop up, and see where you went wrong, if you did, or google it

A sure way for going back to stock is flashing a RUU. You'll still be s-off and you need to check that the RUU is compatible with your cid.

Pull out the battery, insert it, get into bootloader by pressing and holding vol down + power button hold them until you'll get into bootloader. Connect to a computer, change on fastboot mode and You are ready to flash a RUU
I've installed several ROMS since yesterday, the reason i've did that is because suddenly my HTC Sensation locked it self, i cant do anything when its powered on, i cant unlock the screen nomatter what i do ..
i have tried installing a new firmware and wiped the phone complelety, and 4 different roms .. it is all the same, my touch will only work in bootloader mode in "4EXT Recovery Touch" but as soon as the rom is installed, i cant do anything again .. why does my screen freezes after ROM is installed?
PLEASE HELP ME ..

You mentioned that your screen only reacts in bootloader, but you mentioned 4ext recovery. I assume that you can only get your screen to operate under 4EXT. Did you do a last known backup of the last working rom you had? And did you revert to it?
If not, did you by chance play with the density on the screen?
with bootloader , i meant 4EXT RECOVERY ..
i havent taked any backup /:
- what is the density of the screen? i havent done anything unusual .. suddenly the phone just, wont work in the ROM. the screen only reacts in the 4EXT RECOVERY .
Try a superwipe script and install your Rom again

Ive just finished Super Wiping and then installing the ROM, still the same.. no boot errors or things like that, but as soon as the phone is booted and i have to drag the lock ring i cant .. its like the screen is dead.
why is there nothing wrong with the screens reaction when i use 4EXT Recovery Touch ..
If someone could found out, i would be so god damn happy ..
What firmware are you using? Sorry, I can't post links im on mobile. Anyway, a ruu should fix it... It must be a radio issue (read framework)
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA
Firmware from 3.32.401.x & 3.32.401.10x RUU ..
thats the firmware i updated to in HBOOT.
What should i do to fix the problem ??
I had the same issue. It is a harware issue with the digitizer, but for some reason it only will work in gingerbread. If you want to use your phone again you will need to downgrade your firmware to hboot 1.17 and install a gingerbread ROM. Go to the guide linked in my signature and scroll down to the "go back to gingerbread" section.
In the end my phone died completely and i wasn't able to use it even in gingerbread ROMs. I'd recommend you to send your phone back to HTC and get the digitizer replaced. That's what i've done and now i'm waiting for my brand new phone
Check up on this posts regarding the same issue:

You need to go back to stock before you send your phone to a warranty repair or else they will void your warranty due to the s-off bootloader and major software changes you've made to your phone (Custom recovery, custom HTC leaked ROM, root privileges).
I'd recommend you to follow this guide to install the stock ROM and go back to s-on. You will need to download the original RUU your phone came with and follow very carefully the steps to go back to s-on. If you fail to install the stock RUU running the .exe file (error 155 or something similar) follow the second method posted in this thread, that will do the trick.
After doing the s-on procedure, if your phone is superCID'ed, you need to revert back to the original CID following the same superCID steps bur writing the stock CID value
Good luck
I'm sure that your screen works again when you are back stockrom.
hey guys i have the same problem on stock gingerbread,, havent rooted or anything..the phone boots and its stuck on the lockscreen,, i cant move the ring,, the screen doesnt turn off on its own,, if i press the power button it locks,, but a repeat press does not wake the screen ( any way out for this problem???
Thanks

This is in regards to me wanting to remove Team Venoms Rom...not sure if its Viper Rom or Venom Rom anymore. Whatever it may be I just want it off and back to stock :'(
I regret ever rooting and loading this custom rom. I just want to know how to get back to stock.
As of right now if I try to restart or power down my phone it always goes to clockwork recovery screen. If I want to get past that I have to hold the power button for 10 seconds.

If you have your backup from stock then restore your stock image. Having a rooted device will not affect you. If you are the unfortunate one to not have a backup, then look at this page for a stock RUU and run it.

RUU will put it back to stock but I can fix the issues you are having and have a rom that's just like stock but with a few tweaks.
I believe that the backup I created when rooting and loading this custom rom is no longer any good. Because before I figured out that I needed to hold the power for ten seconds to get things to work I was afraid and tried utilizing the backup I had just created.
let me look at that RUU page you just referred to me
After installing a RUU would you lose root? or would you be able to just flash another ROM if wanted?

Just use your old unlock token which you have received from HTC to unlock your bootloader again and you are ready to root again
Sent from my HTC One S running TrickDroid 4.0
Last time I heard, one had to get a new token after an RUU update. If you are using the same ruu as the phone was on then fine. Else you might have to get a new token.
I might me wrong. Just something I had read somewhere!

Ruu or not your phone will always say tampered an ruu will not allow a return to HTC.... When I returned my phone I hooked it to a car battery charger and fried it till it would not turn on at all...why don't you guys try a different custom Rom first before you go through all the trouble of ruu...there's a few good ones on the site linked in my siginature... If you still want to ruu your phone go to the site linked below and pm me I've got a T-Mobile ruu 2.35 if you used an ota and took your phone to HTC jellybean then you can't run ruu any way...

Hello,
So i have a new HTC Desire S, i just rooted it with HTC Quick Root, everything was good but when i flashed cwm-4.0.1.4-saga.img it didn't booted again i flashed the recovery via fastboot and in HBOOT, my HTC Desire S was a S-OFF.
Now it wont start even, if i press the power button nothing happens, what could be the possible solution for this?
I think i just corrupted my HBOOT , because i flashed CWM img as HBOOT img, that was a bad way though. But someone here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29400702&postcount=21 said it can be recovered but they are telling the ways for the other HTC models, can this be applied to HTC Desire S as well? As mine condition is same like this OP said.

It should work, but its a big risk. Most HTC phones have basically the same methods for unlocking, rooting etc. So this should not be different. The best action you can take would be to get it serviced. Unless you can't do it. This method could work.
