Beizer Live Wallpaper cannot be used after CyanogenMod 5.0 flash

Force close after flash.
Is there any way to fix it?

dont think so... i get the same FC's all the time.

After the force close, I opened the market and when I exited the wallpaper was working.

its hit and miss, i have e-mailed the dev, this is the best live wallpaper by far

Same problem here. I eventually ended up restoring to stock rom cause I didn't find that CM 5.0 added anything for me, sure JIT really showed its powers in the benchmarks, but nowhere else that I noticed.

Huh, really? I didn't notice much difference, but the fact that it did away with the slight stuttering when switching desktops was enough for me.

I had the same problem.
However I've noticed that if you use it with Home+ it doesn't force close.
I'm now running Cyan 5.0 beta 2, Home+ and JIT flawlessly.

I got a reply from the Dev today, he is running stock rom so i did a logcat of the issue and e-mailed it back to him per his request, i'll keep you all updated as things progress

The app was updated but still seems to FC on Cyan 5.0 beta2. Yes, I can do it every time I'm left with a black screen after a force close.
I go into the market, go to my downloads. Then I click on the Beizer wallpaper app, and hit home. Voila, Beizer works.

try uninstalling the app and installing it again, i e-mailed the dev the logcats and he updated the app to version 1.2
I'm running CM5b3 and its FLAWLESS now both beizer and lines are working now

just reinstalled the latest version and its working great! love it. It is also my favorite background

cm9 questions and general

Hello again,
After trying every custom rom for htc chacha/status I decided to give cm9 a try. So here are my experiences after some modifications of my own:
Very nice, stable and smooth even at 600mhz. No FCs whatsoever. It will be ready for daily use when video recording is fixed (it records, but couldn't play it).
Still, few things are really bothering me.
Camera has no saturation and contrast settings.
There is no option for additional call settings - my phone number is hidden by default from my carrier and I cannot show my number since there is no option for changing that (or I couldn't find it). It is always hidden which is annoying. There are a lot of people who are not willing to answer when someone is calling them from a hidden number.
There is no option to turn of overscroll effect. I turn it off in every cm mod I have used and I would like to be able to turn it off in this one as well.
Overall, very nice work and I hope that some day we will get a fully functional cm9 for our phones.

Try with CPU speed 800 MHz. See if it's the same.

I miss some cm7 features too (keyboard shortcuts, brightness status bar slider) but I'm not going back to gingerbread after trying out ICS, especially that the rom is quite stable IMO

Give it time. Remember that CM9 just hit RC1 so it will take a while.

Nope, its still laggy.
But I think its the same problem as with my Lg optimus one:
there I use a Cyanogenmod 9, Android ICS 4.0.4, CAF Kernel ROM
and they also got the HQ Youtube Problem:

Try taking lib called libOmxH264Dec.so from cm7 and replace it in cm9 and see if that fix the youtube issue. I fixed it like that in a different phone. Couldn't check it for myself since I reverted to cm7.

Strange. I could swear that I checked additional settings and that I could only see settings for network and not for call display.. Oh, well I was tired and I must have missed them. Cannot check it since I'm back to cm7.

In order to get GPS working try suggestion from cm7 thread. Flash stock rom or some other stock based, turn on GPS and get a lock for your position (in maps or gps test etc.) and then flash cm9 and your GPS should work.

It should be working. I'm in Germany. Tested and verified with the latest CM9 build.
Try GPS Test from Market.
Also, make sure you go to System Settings -> Location services -> GPS Source -> Select Use internal GPS -> OK.

Well, I can confirm that HQ in youtube is not smooth. Not with the changed lib I mentioned earlier as well. With GPS I have no issues. And Alex, I still cannot find settings for call display, lol... I'm not using the default launcher and I just don't see additional settings anywhere Am I blind or sth.? Are they located in the main settings or somewhere else?
Edit: I am blind Open the PHONE, you said! In my mind I read open the launcher menu and then settings - which are the main settings, OMG Found it, thanks

THANKS, now its working!
Here are the steps I made (for everyone with the GPS Problem)
Flashed Hexgore Rom.
Installed GPS Test.. (and run it)
Flashed CM9 Rom + Gapps (dont forget to wipe data)
AND yeaah the ICON is showing up :laugh::good:

Hi i'm new and i installed the cm9 for the Htc ChaCha and yes HQ in Youtube don't work i have the sound perfectly but not the movie .
Any solutions to fix it ?

GPS Problem
Hi,
First, great work with this rom, it makes phone usage much better experience than with stock rom. Too bad only few people works on it.
Ok, to the point, i still got problem with making gps active, ie. no gps symbol in tray, when it should be there.
I tried reenabling it in settings->location->gps source->internal gps and it still doesnt work.
Havent tried reflashing rom, like bok``888 did, cause there must be easier explanation.
Reflashing suggests some cache wiping or poking with hardware settings, maybe this the reason? (i cleaned it before flashing ICS, just saying)

Key mappings
Last night i installed CM9 on my ChaCha, and everything works wonderful for me, the only big deal is the key mappings, all the letters/numbers work fine, but the simbols.....they are all switched my low knowledge of android modding tells me its just a question of a mapping file, tho I dunno what steps to take =/ any help? (tryed SuperOSR and I didn't had to do a thing, just for the info)
My mobile phone is from Portugal, dunno if that helps, but how can i solve this issue?

IN ROOT FILES : ( use root explorer ) and just change your file in system/usr/keychars/ folder. is the folder for keymapping

Try Opera, the Browser.apk is there to fix a couple FCs prior on boot.

1. An "FC" means "Force Close" or when an app stops working and is closed by the OS.

I absolutely love the brightness adjustment bar built in the notifications...how about a 3g/edge switch aswell built into the notification bar.
A lock screen where not just Pandora/Google music player cab forward& pause song BUT also the stock music player, With vibrate swype slider built in

I don't plan on messing with the lockscreens as it they were not ported by me, finding everything that was changed would be a hassle, I have something planned though And the vibrate swype? Are you referring to lockscreen sliders?

Sorry man, was knee-deep in biz calculus, I know you asked for a mirror a few hours ago, but...uploading one now Dev-Host is back up and running though, so the mirror is just in case lol. From here on out, builds will have mirrors as none of the file storing services are reliable enough for only one link...

You tried out Holo Locker from the market? It will be packaged with 1.5 & if I can merge it into my current framework, it will just be another option in settings :good:
& Yeah I know, it has been pretty heavily modified cuz the regular version is filled with gingerbread. Just freeze or uninstall it and update. (system/app/com.google.android.music-1.apk)
If I can find time, I'll have the updated version themed instead for 1.5.

Holo Locker seems to be at least 10x better than WidgetLocker in performance but if it was ONLY a little bit more configurable, it would be just sweet. Looking forward to the upcoming releases Mac.

I've tried but it has been giving me a hard time lately. I am just using the stock music player for now...no worries:highfive:

I seem to get the Bluetooth bug more often after upgrading to 1.4, I don't mind it much( i just restart and it works again) but was wondering if you are planing a fix or it's a GB unfix-able thing(because it is persistent in every GB rom with custom toggles)

What Bluetooth bug???? I've been using Bluetooth to transfer files between my PC and no problem at all compared to the previous releases.

@ferfecir, I found a problem using Sygic navigator. If I turn off the screen while Sygic navigator is running, and GPS is fixed, the phone reboots. It happen more than one time. Have you got some idea how to fix it?

That problem is not related to this ROM only! I have experienced that on other navigation apps with other GB roms. :/ it's annoying.

Sorry for the late answer. The version is13.1.1. I tried to apply the patch "HTC BRAVO GPS FIX CM 7.2 by nico2786.zip" and seems fixing it but not completely sure.
Will keep you informed.

@ferfecir. It seems that the patch fix the problem. I left the GPS on for all the day and no reboot. I will make more test and report the final result.

My Network data works fine, after a 2 or 3 days it's stop work, what's the problem?? somebody can help me??

Nice Rom, fast, responsive and battery friendly. I suggest to remove chronograph and kapat (think they are in turkish only) instead add mvps host file. I like these essential roms (like Mildwild one's).

[Q] Lost home screens with Google Experience Launcher (GEL) Android 4.4

Hallo,
every now and then, when I restart my Nexus 5 Android 4.4 all of my extra home screens on the right have disappeared. Sometimes when I create new screens to the right and then restart, by some computer magic they have returned, but alas not always. Is anybody else experiencing this behaviour? Does any body know how to prevent this happening?
Or which alternative launchers have been tested and found good under 4.4?

unfortunately I have not yet found the cause or any further infos to the problem. I'm going to look into other launchers - also because the icons are so large on nexus5.

Trying to resolve the matter, I came up with a solution(?) :
1. Put new shortcuts/widgets so as to get back the same number of screens as you had before.
2. Settings --> Home --> Old Launcher
3. Home button
4. Settings --> Apps --> Google Search --> Clear cache (this step may not be necessary)
5. Google Search --> Force stop
6. Home button
7. Settings --> Home --> GEL
8. Home button
This triggers something and I get my original screens back (most of the times)
Please verify this solution and report back.

Hi,
I have all the same problel about the disappearing additional home screens: it appens randomly(apparently) when ,at the moring, I turn on my Nexus 5.
(last standard firmware 4.4.2 on,GEL Launcher and Google Now disable).
I found this other strange thing: when i found disappearead additional home screens, if I had new home screens with only app in each, when I reboot, SOMETIMES, i found the old disappeared home screens(whit the preovious app icons in them)
I thought it was a problem of "Clean Master" "Delete Junk Files" operation but I cant reproduce the problem everytime.
Anyone have hints about this problem?

Do you think that I'll be forced to change the device?

Has anyone discovered a solution to this problem? I recently installed PA 4.1 on my Nexus 4 and found that my homescreens kept getting wiped after reboot. It's hugely annoying and I can't tell if it's a problem with the ROM or the launcher.

It's a launcher issue with some people. I don't have the problem but have seen others report it. I prefer action launcher pro anyway

It's best not to rely on buggy launchers made by third rate coders.

Is there any way to find out if they know about this bug and fixing it?
I am currently looking into alternative launchers but I will miss Google Now feature.

If by 'they' you mean PA, then yes we are fully aware of it being a Google problem and not one we can touch since their launcher is closed source

By they I meant Google of course, sorry.
Found this thread by googling for symptoms. At least now I know it is common issue and can use another launcher as a workaround.

Having the same issue with CM11 with Banks' GApps on a Galaxy Tab 2 so I'm thinking it's the launcher, not the ROM...

Thanks for the update! Do you have a source for that info? It's driving me nuts and I've been reflashing all the PA betas to try to find one that works.
