[Q] How to reset number of missed calls on dialer icon? - General Questions and Answers

I have jelly bean 4.1.2 and on my Phone Dialer app icon, the number of missed calls is not resetting though I've check all the missed calls from the logs. Its stuck with 1 miss call. Even though when I get 3 or 4 missed calls it still shows '1' on the Phone icon.
I've tried switching off and restarting the phone several times. I've tried clearing cache and clearing data of Phone app but still no Luck.
Can anybody please help me on this?

I dont know what I did, either by deactivating a service or after an update to JB, I dont see any numbers on those icons after missing calls anymore, or when I get a msg on FB or sms.
How can I activate it again?

just got the solution, the service name is BadgeProvider. activating it solved my problem.
In case you want to refresh to start from 0, just delete the cache data there.

You are most likely getting a system error. Try reflashing the rom u r using after a full data, cache and dalvik wipe.

It must be problem with system. Which rom you are using Stock or Custom?
Try wiping only cache & dalvik cache in CWM
If everything fails then You will need to reflash everything again. As it is the only solution left.

First.. use Titanium Backup and backup all your applications.. (backing up is easier in paid version)
But wiping cache and dalvik cache will not affect your applications and data. ^_^

Hey, my girlfriends ace plus has a similar problem. The phone will vibrate without any reason randomly, usely its vibrates every second or so. Also the screen will go black and the phone will keep vibrating, the only solution is pulling the battery. When restarting the phone she needs to set the time and date again, but not always. The phone runs on the inspiration rom V17.3.
The same problem also occured on stock rom, this had to do with the power button or something she couldnt use the power button or the phone vibrate like a maniac. Now the phone will do the same thing only without any reason, kept us awake because after a restart the phone acts normal for a while and then will start vibrating again.
Hopefully it isnt a hardware problem

Good morning - Well, except for the phone problem. Let me see if I can help you. It sounds like your dialer got messed up.
Some ideas:
Try clear data from dialer (Settings -> Application Manager -> All -> Phone -> Clear data) first, reboot recovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, reboot system.
Did you recently flash or make any modifications, even if you think they're unrelated? If you did, restore the backup you hopefully made before that mod.
Last resort but would work: dirty flash the ROM.
When I have the time, I try to go through Q&A threads and answer the ones with zero replies... Good luck.

Before posting questions like this u should plz tell that which rom are u using, stock or custom also which kernel, ur android version and after what u got this issue so that u can get better assistance
If u are using stock firmware
Then try factory restore settings or use a call app if it works
If u are on a custom rom
Then go to cwm, wipe delvic cache
Reboot
This should fix ur problem:thumbup:

Can't recieve texts

Ive had my idol 3 for a few months now but yesterday i stopped being able to receive calls and texts but i can still send them. Any ideas? I dont think its because of the update cuz it was working fine for a few days. ive tried restarting and pulling out the sim card but no luck. im on tmobiles network.
Try to factory reset/wipe cache.
Had that problem earlier this week, after being on repair, they updated software. I tough that was the problem but problem was with my carrier. I call them and they reset modul for SMS and Call service for my SIM card.
That fixed problem.

factory reset did the job
Same issue - can't receive SMS
I've just started to have the same problem here with a 6045i. I've factory reset the phone twice - one through the Settings menu and once through recovery but still no joy. The SIM appears ok as texts are coming through when put into a different handset. Is there some other reset process to try that I've missed?

get the latest firmware from sammobile.com/firmwares and flash it in Odin with the CSC not the HOME_CSC. Let the normal CSC file do its job and wipe everything from the phone, make it revert to 100% stock and re-setup the phone as you see fit
I confirm that G955F ****sung restarts randomely without reason.
The solution above didn't help.
I'm able to watch 30 minutes long movie on YouTube then I put the phone on the table and within few minutes it just reboots and stuck on ****sung logo.
The worst mobile I ever had, really.

while im glad that doing this helped, im equally (if not moreso) confused as to why. I havent deleted a text in probably 5 years. Well, i guess ive deleted one or two here and there, but i have texts from years and years ago on my phone that have been passed from phone to phone. There would be even older ones if it wasnt for accidental wipes from time to time.
