What do you mean by "changed the LCD density"? I don't think it's possible. The display has a set density and resolution, you can't change it.
You may decrease it but you can't increase the density. Am I wrong?

Yes but I don't understand.
Does it just make "applications" think it's an other density or does it change more things?

It changes the complete system...
I do not want to look up the exact lines, but you would have changed the value 240 (which is standart) to maybe 220? then you should really notice a difference... there would be smaller status- and navbar and content would overall be tinier.
I always noticed a little lag of performance on my old device, thats why I didnt try it here, I could if you need prove....

Hi all! I used Bild.prop editor, Rom Toolbox and edit the build.prop with es file explorer, but after rebooting, the density is change, but my keyboard visibility is not full. Can anyone tell me why? On my old neo it never was a problem. Maybe the reson is that i have boatloader unlock not allowed? But i got full root, i can mount system as writable. I uninstalled some system app (Sony bloatware), and change some gapps into dark (blaked-out). So please someone help me! I would like to change to 220dpi, because on my neo that value was great!

DPI 240 is best for Galaxy R i think, if you want to change it then you need to edit Build.prop file you can try with different densities ......
Go to Build.prop and serch for "ro.sf.lcd_density" and change the value what ever you want and save it....
Yes. .240 is default. .
But 230 will give more contents per page. .
Try 230..

Guys I have this software. when I select 160 temporary DPI it works but when I select it for permanent, it boot & stuck after Galaxy R logo.
Even my Boot logo wont work.
But yes when I edit in build.prop file it boots but wont go to menu..stuck at bootanimations but I m on cm10.1. wiped cache & dalvik cache then it boot well. One question in my mind why the software wont let it boot..??
Guys is 1280*720 Pixel is equal to
for LCD screens:
Display resolution (px×px) - 1280×720
Name - 720p
Pixel count (Mpx) - 0.92
Aspect ratio - 16:9
Screen size (in) - 13.3
Pixel pitch (µm) - 230
Resolution (px/in) - 110.4
My question is how can I set 1280*720p(in DPI) in my mobile for viewing...??
Is it DPI 230..??

Download build.prop editor if you want to do more things with your device...or download density changer if you only want to change density...
Lots of apps are available on play store to do this...
Lower value =high resolution effect
Higher value =low resolution effect
One advice...
Keep in mind...
Some manufacturers modified their own ui over stock...which might causes some issues...
So... better to install another launcher... before applying... (third party launchers are able to catch any resolution...)

SonySketch font - Flashable zip

Just a small but useful thread
Had loads of requests for this font and saw everybody downloading 3rd party apps to get it ect.
For those of you that haven't seen the font, it can be seen here - http://www.ffonts.net/Sony-Sketch-EF.font
Look awesome on the phone.
This tricks the phone to think its stock fonts.
Instructions.
Go to settings / display / font style/ and change your font to Samsung Sans
Place zip on SD card and flash through CWM
Reboot
Switch font back to default
Done.

[Request] Smaller softkeys mod for .534 firmware

I've been using the smaller softkeys mod on my old Xperia Z for half a year now (24dpi size) and just can't and don't wanna get used to these huge and annoying stock softkeys...they are so large and ugly and take away so much screenspace.

I'll wait the hero creates flashable soft keys 36+32 (the same mod we knew on the XZ)
I'm happy to make a flashable zip for this. It's a pretty simple mod to do..once you know how.
The problem is I've just got the ordinary Z (why didn't I wait a few months?!) so I'll need some files from somebody.
I'll need:
system/framework/framework-res.apk
system/framework/SemcGenericUxpRes.apk
system/app/SystemUI.apk
system/vendor/overlay/android-res.apk
That should do it.

what you can do:
take the framework-res-overlay-navbarXX.apk out of the zips above and put it into /system/vendor/overlay/
if you then have smaller softkeys, that would be step one.
I can give you a new SystemUI.apk to fix the "big back button" problem...if it is there....

what would happen if I did this and reboot? Could it be that I don't have any softkeys at all?
As a safeguard, is it a good idea to enable and autostart an app like "Auto hide softkeys" which brings its own softkey nav bar? I could use this to navigate if the other option fails? Or is it also tied to the stock soft keys?
I guess I'm not brave enough (yet) to test it out . I just finished setting up my Z1 a few days ago and everything is running smoothly and I don't want to mess with it.
I'll have to get annoyed enough with the stock keys or my current replacement (Auto hide softkeys) in order to take the plunge.

If it does not work, nothing should happen actually... Worst case: no softkeys.. fix: open a root explorer, navigate to system/vendor/overlay and delete the apk....

here we go....
you need to delete SystemUI.odex inside /system/app
and replace SystemUI.apk with the attached one. make sure it has 644 permissions. ("chmod 644 /system/app/SystemUI.apk")
But please do a backup and enable USB debugging before deleting anything! so you might have a chance to revert your changes if something goes wrong....
