LCD Density Modder in Samsung Galaxy R/Z - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

Hi guys I'm new in the forum. First of all I want to thank all the user that will read this thread and work to make the forum absolutelly awesome. With that said, I'll like to ask if someone can help me with the DPI of Galary R/Z, I'm afraid that the phone doesn't boot anymore.
Anyone can give me a guide or something like that? Thank you so much.
PD: Yes, I saw the Noob video but please show mercy I'm not a native english, but it doesn't matter doesn't it?
PD2:I don't know if I'll ask my dude here or ask at the developer but I decided here because it will be someone with the same dude. Sorry if I'm mistaken

Why u wanna change lcd density?
U can use rom toolbox or similar app to mod density, goto build.prop tweak here u can change value.
If u want u can change manually also. Open build.prop in text editor.
And change the value of.
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density

DPI 240 is best for Galaxy R i think, if you want to change it then you need to edit Build.prop file you can try with different densities ......
Go to Build.prop and serch for "ro.sf.lcd_density" and change the value what ever you want and save it....

Yes. .240 is default. .
But 230 will give more contents per page. .
Try 230..

240 DPI is the default pixel density and u can go till 160 to get tablet like feel.i.e., more contents per screen

Guys I have this software. when I select 160 temporary DPI it works but when I select it for permanent, it boot & stuck after Galaxy R logo.
Even my Boot logo wont work.
But yes when I edit in build.prop file it boots but wont go to menu..stuck at bootanimations but I m on cm10.1. wiped cache & dalvik cache then it boot well. One question in my mind why the software wont let it boot..??

Guys is 1280*720 Pixel is equal to
for LCD screens:
Display resolution (px×px) - 1280×720
Name - 720p
Pixel count (Mpx) - 0.92
Aspect ratio - 16:9
Screen size (in) - 13.3
Pixel pitch (µm) - 230
Resolution (px/in) - 110.4
My question is how can I set 1280*720p(in DPI) in my mobile for viewing...??
Is it DPI 230..??

[Q] Default Density of sgs+

U guys i Just downloaded this ROM toolbox app bc of sassibobs boobs, now it ****ed up my screen resolution, the thing is i uninstalled it, hoping it would be automaticly reset after uninstallation..
It didnt, so i wanted to reinstall and check for the responsible option, but NOW my device doesnt work with that app (thats what the fkn market says now..)
i downloaded "lcd resolution" and busybox, set up the resolution manually but it seems that "lcd resolution" has a cap of 212, is there another app where i can go further ?
And the most important question: whats the default dpi ? isnt it 250 ??
Please u guys need some help here...
couldnt find anything helpful via searching...
Okay Got it:
Got an app called: "LCDDensity"
the default Density is 240 DPI
hope that helps others..
Default is 233 ppi pixel density

Woww i almost bricked my phone by installing LCD Density...
My phone was in a reboot loop and didn't do anything anymore.
I had to go in download mode and flash a new ROM with Odin.
So better watch out

Glad u made it bro ..
@kabadahija
Hmm i dont know man, i tried 233, the screen was all blurry and icons and stuff were all too small, after i did 240, it was as sharp as a razor blade and the screen adjustments were fixed..
maybe the stupid ROM toolbox ****ed up few more settings and thats why 240 works fine, but for me 233 is rly not the original size and as I said the status bar icons were all blury and not in the original size (smaller)...
--
U know whats strange ?
I was able to dl ROM toolbox from the marked, but many slidebars didnt respond and had their own default positions which didnt work (the cpu slieder for example), so after i reboot, i realize that my resoultion is ****ed up, so i uninstall, after next reboot, same ****, i want to reinstall it from thr market..
But now it says that this software doesnt work on my device, how the hell can this happen ? what did the programc hange so i couldnt use it anymore.. ??

based on my experience..you can start by using which custom rom that suits you best. custom rom that performs wells and most importantly gives stability on daily use basis. but if i may say..just my personal opinion..i would say andro.id but then again i'm not really a gamer though

Screen Density Changer

Hello, all,
I tried looking for this thread, but couldn't find one that's active and working.
Does anyone know any good app/method for screen density changer for S3? (instead of installing a rom that has the option)
I tried one from the market, but didn't do anything.
I tried changing build.prop, but had to restore because it wouldn't boot.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance.

What did you change in the build.prop? I manually change it all the time and never have any issues. What did you change it to?
Also rom toolbox is amazing for tweaking roms and it allows you to mod build.prop.

Thanks for the reply.
I think I changed where it says ro something density and it was around 300? Which I changed to 240 and it didn't work.
I will try the toolbox.
Thanks!

Thank you so much.
Not to hijack your thread, but what exactly is changing the screen density? Does it help with something?
Thanks

It's just changes the size of everything really. But if you put it low enough you can enable tablet mode on some apps. I personally like tablet mode

Hi. I've got the question too. Can I edit build.prop right on my device? Will it boot after that? I want to make text areas (in menus, for example) smaller so I could see more text on the screen. Or I just should make an update.zip and flash it via CWM recovery?

Download build.prop editor if you want to do more things with your device...or download density changer if you only want to change density...
Lots of apps are available on play store to do this...
Lower value =high resolution effect
Higher value =low resolution effect
One advice...
Keep in mind...
Some manufacturers modified their own ui over stock...which might causes some issues...
So... better to install another launcher... before applying... (third party launchers are able to catch any resolution...)

If you have root then download texdroider_DPI from the playstore and set your preffered DPI in there....reboot...done! However if your running custom rom and the dev pushes a update out then it'll set to default dpi
