Is there an android app that I can load a recording into (mp3/wav file) and it gives me the text file?

I don't even think this is possible at all yet there'd be too much background noise

Evernote will do this for you. Just play it on your computer and use text-to-speech on the app.

So I watched a video with the new WebOS devices. And they had this type of sync for text message's.
So if I am playing on the webos tab and my webos phone gets a text, it will be sent to the tab as well.
Is there a way to have text message on Android device do the same?

You could use GO and back up your SMS, send it to your other device via email and then load it up.
Other than that I do not know how to sync messages.
AFAIK, it's there in 3.x. Don't have anything to test just yet

This is one thing that has me looking at the new webos devices.
To many times I am doing things on my tab and have to go look for my phone to see who sent me a text.Me

Try Qtext. It does exactly what you want.
I like Tasker. Not only will it do what you want but also lots of other things you would wnt to automate. It takes a little bit of patience to learn but stick with it because it is worth it.
Do you mean tasker by crafty? Currently I am currently using smart receiver and it works exactly what I need.

I would go with with QText ($2.99) or Tasker ($6.49).
There are trials of both.
Hey Muffin, I haven't tried tasker but I did tried trial version of qtext.. But I can say it's very bad and it force closes on my Samsung s2

By sub I mean an option inside a main option in settings... I know if you go to the message app like your going to send a text and hit the menu it will also bring up message settings too... It has been a long time since I've been on sense but I'm sure I saw that option somewhere.. Sorry for being so vague...

No worries.
Yeah looks like the only setting is to show message on lock screen, but nothing to actually turn screen on when it arrives. I really only want this because I always have my phone on silent. When playing Xbox with headphones I miss everything but I guess that's a good thing lol.
Anyways thanks for the help

I don't ever remember hearing about that option built into a rom--
But, as Google is your proverbial friend--maybe this--it is for text messages, maybe something else available for more notifications--

I use this app, simple and does exactly what it says it does. Turns on your screen when you get a text, nothing more nothing less.
I bought the pro version, there is also a free version that does the same thing.
There used to be an stock option in sense, I'm not sure what version they took it out in.

You can also do it with Tasker (and a lot more).
Ok, does anyone know if I an alphabetize my spreadsheet through my phone? I like to keep record of all my movies and books (nerdy I know). I use the app on my phone and it really bothers me if it's out of order for a few days since I share it with my family and close friends.

Maybe I don't fully understand your needs but surely almost every phone on the planet has a built in answering system linked with their provider.

No. The operators provide only voice mail options.
A good auto answering software / appn, I doubt, is available.

He he.. I remember the advanced call manager app I used in Nokia phones. Awesome app,. But none is available for Android.
