Issues ordering from Seidio (buyers beware) - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

Seidio is having problems. I ordered the new 4500mah battery for my S4. They claim they are having "glitches" in their system. They swear it's been shipped, but the USPS tracking number is still invalid after a week. As the USPS instituted tracking some time ago, even if they're having system problems, as soon as they presented USPS with this shipping number, there would be tracking info available. A week (business days) is enough time to have received that battery from anywhere in the US. I ordered from Seidio as a member of XDA gave a 20% off coupon that made it just slightly cheaper than Amazon. I ordered the combo case a day later from Amazon (cheaper) and it came the next day! Amazon is now the same price as Seidio, but with free shipping for the battery. I will charge back the order to my credit card and reorder from Amazon. Beware if you order anything from Seidio. The person I talked to on the phone was also very rude (I was very polite).

That sucks. I have been ordering from Seidio for years and always have had great service. I hope this is an isolated incident.

I apologize about that. We definitely believe this is an isolated incident because we want to ensure all of our customers have a great experience shopping on seidioonline and with our product. Can you please PM me your order number so I can look into this for you?

New Gtablet, but different...

I returned my Gtablet to Sears, since a few days close to the return window and am still needing to see if VS fixes the accelerometer and the bluetooth issues for input devices. Purchased another tonight from Office Depot that they price matched ($380) and has a return window of January 8th.
My first Gtablet was confirmed by VS's CS to be one of the first batch of 1,000. There are some differences with the second one I have now, though most are petty issues: Box was factory sealed.
1. Green cloth instead of gray (mega petty)
2. No second peel-off screen layer protection (petty)
3. Perfect display appearance out of box with ZERO bubbles or blemishes. This thing (not turned on of course) looks iPad level clean. Wish was the same turned on
4. Device seems more stable ADDED: compared to first one, when still stock (though pointless, since going to TnT 2.0 anyways).
Will update in regards to other comparative issues later.
Did they charge you a 15% restocking fee?
How long is Sears's $380 price going till? I thought about buying one from Staples, and just trying it out myself for a few weeks (their return policy I believe is quite lax, no restocking fee, and is after the new year like Office Depot), but opted not to because I'm not sure I'd keep it. Maybe I'll have to just give it a whirl one of these days.. maybe I'll like it more than I thought.
No restocking fee charged, since accelerometer not working and Flash not working (in contrast to features on box).
I think Saturday was the last day for $380.
I didn't have any screen protector on my Staples version at all.
Any way i could identify the gtab from a new batch ? i am about to buy one and would like to buy one from the new batch
The first 1,000 had an easy peel-off protector (for shipping) and a normal screen protector. That is only differentiation suggested from customer service.

I got mine from Staples and it did not come with a peel-off protector. It also came with a green screen cleaning rag.

My first one(one of the first 1000 and received 11/2) did not have the screen protector. I'm pretty sure if you don't have the peel off application 2nd layer, you don't have a screen protector at all. You can check with a piece of tape.
My second one exchanged much later did have the screen protector.
So i'm not sure that these are things to go by.
I may call and complain a bit and see if they can get me a protector.
On an unrelated note, any word on a new update ETA?
CS stated 12/19 is the next one, but if the Advent Vega update Roebeet is working on pans out, folks here may not want the update.
Correct. No screen protector. CS should send us one.

Did people that get the screen protector get the green cloth? I don't think so, so you get one or the other.
Can't you just call stables and ask for price protection? That sears had the item for $380 when you bought yours or within the 30 days? I would call.
I got lucky, the store tag in sears was $399, but rang up as $379, they questioned it, but gave it to me for the $379 price.

Staples price matches up to 14 days from purchase. I had no problem getting the price adjustment, just showed the manager Sears website on an instore computer and he authorized it.

[DEAL] Griffin Folio Case for around $5

People say that it fits the Touchpad...I picked up a couple for myself.
Snatch these up before they're gone. The deal is in www.passwird.com.
I hear they dont work with the Touchstone charger.
I just ordered 1. Cant beat $5!
I just got mine (though I paid $10) and it works on my touchstone charger when closed.
biggest gripe was FedEX showing up at 10am and my having to sign for it. (no way to just get standard USPS shipping where I didn't have to stay home from work.

Bastexwireless plus

I ordered an EZO Power battery and they sent me some off brand that crashed my phone while charging.
In order to send the battery back, I'm suppose to pay return shipping. No Way. I'll just cut my losses.
Update: Bastexwireless just contacted me and issued a full refund.

Ballistic Case for $20.95 shipped (Best Protection)

Hello, I hope you are doing well.
I know hundreds of members here recently purchased the Google LG Nexus 4 phone, and many people are still hunting for a case. After hours of research, I have personally determined that the best protective case currently available is the Ballistic Shell Gel (OtterBox and Lifeproof have no plans to make cases for this phone).
This case comes in either black/black color or black/pink color. The official Ballistic website offers this case for $34.95 plus shipping (source), and the black/black ran out of stock within hours of being available.
Fortunately, TheCellGuru.com offers this case for just $18.96 (here), and shipping prices start at $1.99 (for the 48 lower US states), making the final price $20.95.

Thanks. I've been searching for this and have ordered one to Canada.
I find it humourous that international (US to Canada?) is 13 to 18 days.
Must be coming by stage coach.
Cheers
Great case and great deal! Received mine last Saturday straight from Ballistic. Was too impatient to wait for a good deal. I paid $37 shipped. It's a great investment to protect the Nexus 4. Highly recommended!
Just bought one. They said ill get it at feb 19. Thats a long ass wait o.o

hey.. im really looking for a rugged hybrid case like the one you are offering.
do you guys ship internationally as well ? like other than US UK and Canada. I wanted to know if it was possible to ship to the middle east or India, preferably the middle east.
I want to get one but they are out of stock need it for work and am so scared right now this phone is super slippery lol

It looks like this just ran out of stock at TheCellGuru.com, but the official Website now has these in stock again for $34.99 here. Use 20% off coupon code ALL4LOVE to make it slightly cheaper, though still not as cheap as the original deal I posted.
Hope this helps,
Vic
I ordered one last friday from him and was surprised that I didn't hear one peep from him about the sale. I sent him a note yesterday and he just said that the listing had already told me that the item would ship three days after payment was received and they'd send me a tracking number when they shipped it. I've never bought anything from good sellers on Ebay where I didn't get at least some kind of note immediately after I paid for an item at least acknowledging they'd taken my money. And a terse and rude reply as well. The guy I buy my skintomi gear from emails me seconds after i pay him and ships the same day sometimes. I won't be ordering anything else from thecellguru, and I wonder just how long it's going to take the ballistic case to get here.
Ordered mine through CNB Deals on ebay here. Hoping all goes well, as I also never rec'd an email after I paid with pay-pal. Hoping I get a tracking number soon!
I wish Ballistic kept they're Amazon store stocked, since I have Prime it would've been a no brainer to do the free 2 day shipping and pay the full $35 and be done with it.
Hot DAMN it's $55 shipped across the pond!! No USPS first class? Disappointing.
Some guy's selling it on ebay with cheaper shipping... still $43 though. Might just go for the Ionic Guardian.
$26 shipped

Just say no to the extra items.
I bought one from the cellguru guy when they were in stock last weekend, but got an email today saying they'd run out. Stating dispatch ~end of Feb. But when out of stock, delivery is anyone's guess.

I also ordered from thecellguru.com when it showed in stock. Received email stating now out of stock and wont ship for 14 days. Considering cancelling order and going elsewhere. Unfortunately did it through paypal so money is paid already.
Will update when I receive it. If I knew it was going to be that slow I would have ordered directly or bought the Rearth Fusion Hybrid.

Why you don't ever want to buy from Seidio's webstore

Most of the time Seidio products can be purchased from Amazon at much lower prices but in the case of recently released Seidio items they're not available on Amazon yet so if you want the product Seidio's webstore is the only place to buy it. If I hadn't gone through this I would not have believed it possible but here's what it takes to return/exchange an item purchased on Seidio's webstore:
1) request approval for an RMA (note this first step is not getting a RMA it's getting approval to get one) by emailing under your login on their website
2) after the approval getting the RMA (instead of just filling out an RMA to begin with)
3) sending Seidio pictures of the item (done after the actual RMA is issued but not requested by Seidio until after the RMA is issued, completed & returned) Must be obvious to everybody but Seidio that if you ship them a damaged item they won't exchange/credit it.
4) Seidio emails you that they've received your returned item and will further advise you in 2-3 business days
5) You have to call their Customer Support to find out the outcome and if it's a store credit you have to contact them again after you order something to have them apply the store credit to your order.
And to top it all off Seidio gives you 7 days to return an item, a whole 7 days. It is completely obvious that Seidio deliberately makes every attempt to have you just forget about returning something because of all the steps and time involved and I'm guessing a lot of their customers do not go through the entire process.
Well guess what Seidio, if I spent all the time I did with your ridiculous return process I can spend a few more minutes telling my fellow forum members about it.
Compare the above to Amazon's 30 day return window where all you do is print a return label. And no Seidio does not provide a return label you can print, you have to address the return box yourself & pay for freight both ways.
Nice job Seidio, I'm sure this post will encourage a lot of orders from your webstore.

Greatful that I never had this issue with them.I dealt with them note 2 days.
BAD ASS NOTE 4 & GEAR S
It's BS like this that makes me essentially only ever order things from Amazon, and typically only if they're eligible for Prime shipping.
The bigger issue is that Seidio stuff is so overpriced...

Worse than that is the fact that it's not premium merchandise warranting their ridiculous prices. Three brands I'm familiar with BodyGlove, Ballistic & Otterbox actually have premium products. An Otterbox Defender is about the same price as the Seidio Convert and I think a far superior case. My BodyGlove ToughSuit and the Ballistic Tough Jacket Maxx are considerably less money, about a third less and both are better more protective cases cases than the Seidio. All Seidio is doing is overpricing inferior goods.
Such posts make me thankful I pay for Amazon Prime.
OP I'm sorry you had to go through this adventure for a simple exchange and thank you for warning us.
ordered a case from UAG for my note 3....was messed up.....
so guess what happened...
they sent me two replacement cases immediately and let me keep the original.
Great company.
Yea seidio stuff is overpriced for sure. I used to like SOME of their products but with their horrible cs and dip in quality lately they've lost me as a customer. At least with Otterbox the warranty last a year and all you do is take a photo to prove its authentic, not with seidio and they're arrogant and straight up deny well known issues with their products. Never again.

I'm going to be sending back my Convert Add On kit because both the rugged skin & the holster are unbelievably bad. After applying for an RMA last night I was notified by email it was approved and I can expect to receive it in 1-2 business days. I forgot to mention in my original post when you apply for an RMA you have to supply the product code(s), like Seidio doesn't have the info contained on the invoice they create when you order a product.
After my first (and last) experience with both Seidio's products and their dog & pony show for returning items I think Seidio should be crossed off anybody's list and put under the category of "don't even consider buying anything from them" and that includes on Amazon or any other independent reseller. As lousy as my Convert rugged skin is and a holster that caused my phone to fall to the floor when I bent over to tie my shoes owing to the flimsy method with which the holster is attached to the belt clip I must categorize their products as pure trash.
And the beat goes on.................
After receiving an email 3 days ago from Seidio's warranty/returns dept. advising me I would receive RMA return instructions in 1-2 days I called them today because I haven't received that email with those instructions and at 1:49pm CST and was told that dept. "was out to lunch". They are only open from 8:00am-5:00pm M-F.
When I do get the email IIRC they will be requesting I send them photos which of course will take several business days to reply to and if everything is satisfactory they will actually issue an RMA the better part of 2 weeks after I initiated the return request.
Seido as a company is "out to lunch".
unbelievable
Seidio received my garbage Convert Add On kit return Saturday March 14th and they just send an email yesterday acknowledging the return which stated there would be an additional 4 to 5 business day timeframe to "process" the return.
It took about 2 weeks for me to get them to issue an RMA including 3 phone calls after going through all the nonsense logged into their website to request a RMA, add in the week delay in acknowledging physical receipt of the return & the additional 4-5 business day timeframe to "process" the return it will take about a month before I even know if they will issue a refund & that doesn't include the 4 days shipping time.
Needless to say Seidio is way beyond ridiculous when trying to return defective merchandise purchased through their online store.
Hands down this is by far the worst experience I've ever had trying to return defective merchandise purchased online. No other experience even comes close.
As I've stated previously between their completely defective merchandise & their inane return process Seidio richly deserves to be out of business.
yup, this is why I always check amazon before buying something, if they have it in stock, I'll buy from them.
This is also the main reason I buy my phones from amazon. I know I can buy "new" phones from swappa which will be about $50 cheaper (for the case of Note 4 atm), I 'd rather spend 50 bucks more and have peace of mind thinking if there ever is a problem, returning and exchanging is only a few clicks.....

Unfortunately for me the Surface case & the Convert Add On kit weren't yet available on Amazon when I ordered them. I made the huge mistake of thinking Seidio sold premium quality products and thought I'd try one of their cases. The Surface case which I ordered last October when the N4 was released is good quality but it's way overpriced for the features it offers. Only reason I ordered it was to turn it into the Convert case/holster combo which took Seidio about another 3 months to release. So I immediately ordered the Convert Add On kit when it became available and it was total trash. The holster was literally unusable because it kept disconnecting from the belt clip causing my phone to drop to the ground and the rubber Convert cover slipped off the bottom edge every time I used the fingerprint scanner sometimes impeding use of the fingerprint scanner. The holster & rubber cover were so poorly designed I could not use them.
After I made my first post today I got another email from Seidio and if I'm understanding it correctly they are issuing a refund of zero. I'll have to call them for the 4th time and clarify that is the case. If so I will be initiating chargebacks with the banks that issued the credit cards used to make the purchases. I've never had reason to initiate a chargeback in my life but now that Seidio has taken so much of my time there is no way I'm going to just forget about it and lose $70 because their products are unusable junk.
I truly believe Seido's whole game plan for refunds is to make it so difficult you'll just forget about it. Without giving any great deal of thought to it I'd have to say Seidio may just be the worst company I've ever encountered and considering I've spent six decades on the planet that's saying something.
Good luck in getting your hard earned money back. I never liked seidio cases.
Thanks for the feedback, at least we know their game..
Similiar situation here..never again will I buy something from them.
I had the opposite experience. I agree that their site is overpriced. When I had a return they asked me to send pictures. They replied within one day and just sent me a whole new one. Once I had a small defect on the phone case after having it for 3 months. They also sent me a new one right away after I sent them pics. Sorry you guys are having such a hard time......
