My impression? It looks really durable, pretty nice and apart from 1 little problem that can be easily fixed it is just awesome.

I am not experiencing any issues.
I had galaxy S before n4 with this case, and comparing the reception .. it seems to be the same, in areas where i had low signal i still have low... in other areas with full + hsdpa signal still the same.
That is odd, I think @DowntownJeffBrown got this case or maybe something similar and said the reception was bad with the case. And the openings in the back for wifi antenna's weren't working.

Yup exactly
I still have the case but I'm going to return it. It blocked my signal worse than the casefanatic one
Also it's a horrible design. The left of the case has a huge hinge and were it clasps together on the right it won't stay closed.
We see you meow on our nexus⁴ can we haz some more? Ohai there meow aren't u looking sexy >^.^

As i noted in video, the only downside of this case i can see is the hinge - and that it gets opened easily (but stays closed, it needs a little but of force to actually open). I fixed this issue with a very tiny piece of duct tape on 2 places on the case - now it stays closed no matter what.
To the problem of the signal.. i don't have any, i am using paranoidandroid with stock kernel on nexus 4 rev11, if it matters. In a hsdpa arrea where i live, i have full signal with, or without the case on.
When i travel in trains etc, i experience the same drop-outs in signal (and internet) in the same arreas as i did with galaxy S without case.

Oh, so the openning is for the wifi, good to know . Doesn't matter, i don't experience any issues with wifi at home, or public places...

I'm on PA also. I was disappointed with this case but I'm glad it works for you. Same thing with the casefanatic case. Some people get horrible signal block and some don't. Btw I have a rev10 nexus4 so maybe that has something to do with it. I got my nexus in the very first batch in November.

Update: Upon further testing and modem update from .48 to .84 i actually noticed moderate drop in reception with case on. Also in wifi, and i think that also it was breaking gps reception.
I ordered ringke fusion case, hopefully it will do a better job :fingers-crossed:

Hello everyone! Just wanted to share this with the people here. Bought an Orange mesh case on ebay via London Magic Store and have been very happy with it. It's so nice that I am considering buying the white and possibly the blue one as well.
It doesn't provide as much protection as the gel cases, but it makes the device easier on the eye. It simply looks sleek.
Now on to the photos:

this orange one looks great!
i'll wait until my red one dies, if ever... LOL
have anyone wondered.... Why the hell the cases does not cover the bottom of the phone??????, we just need a pin size hole for the mic
all these slick great looking hybrid (soft/hard) cases are like that... why?
not like we have any connectors there
I thought the mesh cases were the ones with holes in them? Usually, on Ebay, these are just referred to as "rubberized hard back case" or something like that.

But somehow, I prefer the real mesh design (the ones with holes all over) but they don't come in orange.
As for the bottom opening, it's most probably to retain the flexibility of the case, so U can snap in and out easily. Mine came with a hairline crack at the bottom.. but it's a minor thing.. so Im not bothered.

maybe that's the reason
otherwise i can't understand why the soft gel / rubber ones are fully wrapped, but the nice stylish ones are butt naked
i already have a full gel one, it's great for protection, but sometimes it gets a bit on the edge, when the finger is too close to the end of the screen.
so i prefer the stylish models like the orange one, makes using the phone easier, the finger doesn;t get caught in the way of the gel/rubber cases when sliding close to the edge of the screen

Naiveness ;> It's to save money, simple as that. Making a case which covers the top and bottom requires more precision work in order for it to snap in/out easily enough and beside that it also require more material and design work.
Back to topic though, you tricked my expectations Not nice playing with people's mind like that, saying it's a mesh case review when it's not. Anyhow, t'is a nice case, I should be getting the black version within a day or two.
As far as protection goes... Not really expecting much, if any at all. Pretty sure I'll end up buying a case mate tough case or something similar for the scenarios when I know I'll be more likely to drop things. Too bad they're pretty expensive, in comparsion.
but the mesh case and this case is identical
just different colours

But can U confirm the quality and finishing is identical?
Coz if I'm not wrong, the mesh cases are official Samsung accessory, made by Anycall. There's a shop here (set up by some China nationals) that sell cheap cases and they happened to have something similar to the one shown here, with various colours... They're S$15 and look cheap. Not sure if they are the same.
Do note the price varies alot.. U$11++ for the mesh ones and U$3++ for this with free shipping..
ihave the same case from london magic store but in purple and its great, gives the phone a lot more solid feel without making it too chunky.
also recived an orange mofi case to keep it in and even with the case on it fits in fine, very pleased
Anybody knows if this cases fit Samsung Galaxy SL (i9003)? I would love to buy one, but I don't know if it's going to fit with my phone!
Thank you mates!!
Nice looking case. Im stuck with some half metal half plastic pile of depression that scratches after the slightest graze. Seems like i got what i had for the money......
As stated in the title, I'm looking for a protective case that does not block the antenna. I have a gel case myself and it fits my sensation 4G quiet well; however, it seriously blocks the signal. It decreses 4G speed to 3G or even 2G and it decreses the wifi strength by at least 1 bar some times 2. This is very frustrating.
The only case I know for sure that doesn't block the antenna is the Powerskin which will also double the thickness of the phone. I seriously don't want to cut a giant hole on the back of the case i have right now to solve the issue.
Please, help me if anyone have a protective case that doesn't block the antenna or any solution to solve the problem.
Does your case have holes for antennas?
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
I have tested many cases on my Sensation. The Trident Aegis, the Seidio Active, the Case-mate Tough, the Case-mate Barely There, the PDAir.......none of them had holes for the antenna and none of them caused reception problems. But by the sound of your post my guess is you're going to have problems with any case.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
so this Sensation is doomed? i guess i will have to cut a giant hole on the back of the case for better reception.... sucks
To the o.p., if you cut a hole and your case , and fixed the antenna issue, can you please post a pic, i noticed my sensation gets a extra bar when i take off my gel skin, so i will be doin some cutting on my gel skin............ thanks in advance
I have a gel case that has 5 extra small holes. One below the flash, one above the camera, one beside the speaker and 2 at the bottom.
Question....which of these holes are for antenna? Let me try and take a pix of the case and post it.
Same with my gel case. With it on it gets a whole bar less on Wi-Fi. Anyone know any case that gets around this?

I have done alot of googling to find a cases that has a hole in the back, or even helps amplify the signal somehow. i couldnt find anything, the iphone has a case called the vapor or something like that, its alluminum i believe, and it supposedly helps the signal, but the company doesnt make it for the sensation, i found some aluminum cases for the sensation, but they dont work like the vapor from what i read, just a aluminum case that may hurt signal. . i think im gonna get a ballistic sg, and cut a hole in the back, and try to put piece of colored plexy glass, or glass in hole, and make it look cool .. and i hope i do a good job, and dont waste $40 bucks
Eh... It's quiet hard to cut out the holes. after cutting out one i just couldn't bare it. it's really hard to have a smooth finish since you can't just punch holes out like the machines in mass production... i just got the TPU cases that have holes on the back. It still decreases reception but not as much as the ones without holes( duh...) i will probably stick to those for now.. because it's easy to take off for battery exchange since i usually burn through at least 2 batteries everyday...
I wonder how effective would making holes be. Radio signals are waves and not particles. They don't exhibit any duality like particles do (whether it's light or anything that exhibits adherence to the quantum theory. For any hole to be useful, it would either have to be big or be in numerous amounts.

comes with a screen protector as well. not cheap i agree.
its got all the holes you guys are talking about .
well thanks for the up date on your gel cutting experiment and thanks for tip on having to make numerous holes, or one big one. ...accidents happen, I haven't dropped my phone yet, but when I do , I know I'm gonna want something like a ballistic sg on it. Bummer I can't have a case that amplifies my bars, oh well,,
Holes do help the reception. just because radio wave is not particle doesn't mean it can penatrate any material. platsic gel can absorb and deflect siginificant amout of wave, so cutting holes do help. there is a reason why you don't put the antenna of the car in the car but on the car.

I have reached +1200kb/s speeds over hspa+ network with and without it in same place and position.

Cars aren't made from plastic are they? try putting any phone inside 0.01mm thick aluminium foil and it will not get any bars. that is the same thing that car does but car has few windows.. and thats why most cars have antenna outside.

KLD Product Info said the Case is made by thin cast aluminum (Photo ~ Line B),
Can you please check out for us if it's true...?
I guess Wireless Charging & NFC Signal will be blocked by the aluminum.
How do you like the fitting?
Will it scratch the phone when install, take out..?
Thanks...!

I think this is the best feature of the Google bumper. It incorporates keypressers so pressing the buttons is not as difficult as cases that have simple cutouts. Would love to see a flip case with buttons similar to the stock bumper.
So, elty123, 10 days since you started this thread. Have you already received your order? We want some insights!
Does anyone have this case yet? I'm thinking of getting the pink one, not many femine covers out for this phone yet.
Still waiting for this case. Not sure if this will work from wireless charger, but my HP Touchpad works with the Touchstone even with a case on. This should be similar I guess.
Finally got the red case. build quality is pretty good, and it is nice to touch. However, it doesn't really look like leather - more like.texture plastic. I think It would look better if it is not a bright peachy red.
I don't know if there is a thin cast aluminum inside, however the cover is pretty sturdy. It also doesn't seems to lower reception strength when the case is opened. I have no wireless charger to test.

What can you say about the cuts to access the buttons? I heard they are quite narrow in the Nilkin case, making it a bit hard to press them.
And this is the first flip cover I use, and sometimes the cover doesn't close completely.... is it a problem for other flip cover?

Yep, pretty common.
The cut is not very clean (some residual plastic). Pressing the power is ok but the volume is a bit harder, probably because of the spine.
The texture of the cover is the same as the picture... just that it is a bit more shiny than I thought.
Also closing the cover seems to reduce signal strength by a few dBm. I can't really tell because the signal strength fluctuate a lot here, even without any case.
I ordered this case because it looks realllllly nice. I chose this over the nillkin because I wanted it in brown.

UPDATE:
I would have to give the case a 8.5/10
Cons:
*Hard to connect headphone jacks, the case makes it impossible to reach (It may work for the apple and samsung headphones, haven't tried it. Only tried the beats cable).
*It does block signal somewhat.
*Makes the phone heavier, but not that much.
*The Sticky material to connect the screen on the case is not as great. After taking it off and putting it back on; the stickiness goes away. They do supply you with 1 more pack of stickies(includes 4, one each corner) but what happens when it's done? You're on your own.
Pros:
*Very stylish
*Comes with a screen protector and an aluminum button.
*Protects the phone all around.
*Not cheap material.
*Makes the S4 look like another phone.
Looks cool.
Hmm... I think they are trying too hard to look like the iPhone 5...
Also, this is a Faraday cage. It will kill reception.
I dont like how it looks like a perfect rectangle
don't think that will protect much because the transfer of stress impact will be almost directly transferred to the phone with little absorption unless there is some padding inside of it, which I doubt.
Here's a clickable link so people don't have to copy and past.

Well glass isn't conductive but still you will have signal attenuation (Signal loss) due to the casing.

looks interesting but the metal turns me off due to the signal issue possibility. I like the shape it gives the phone, but my Spigen Neo Hybrid gives my phone that shape so.......

I do like the neo hybrid, I was thinking about getting it but swapping out the bumper for an aluminum one.
I feel the bumper would have a similar design and would sort of fit
These are the ones i use now.

I have to warn you, I did some research after having issues with my Element Case Eclipse, and it seems that many people who are not paid in free merch by companies to review products have reported that aluminium bumpers cause hella problems with GPS signals in particular, but also drop your bars (from 4-5 to 3-4, for example). Now, if you never use GPS (lol, who doesn't use GPS?) then maybe it doesn't matter as much, but I about threw the case out the window when I realised this $100 case (incl. tax and shipping) was breaking my GPS. Took the case off and I was good to go. Just my experience and my research. Don't be a statistic.
Also, I much preferred the Spigen Slim Armor to the Neo Hybrid. the Neo Hybrid is not comfortable and the Slim Armor looks sexier in person.
I bought a Draco aluminum bumper in black. They are pricey, but very nicely made.

That looks pretty cool and doesn't really add any thickness...
Dumb question. .. is it cold when you touch it? I kind of like that feeling...like the cool side of the pillow

So aluminum bumpers on the edges would also cause signal loss? I have two cruzerlite cases but I'm a case fanatic (lol) the neo hybrid is it worth the $30?

Also they now have a tempered glass screen protector!

What about GPS reception? I use GPS a lot and can't afford to have issues with it especially since you can't easily take the case off without the tool.

I would probably say on a whole when you dont have it in your hand and its sitting there, yes, it would be cooler than without it as the aluminum is keeping it cool. I have an app called Thermometer Plus that tells the temperature of the phone and other sensor stuff that seems pretty accurate.
I got my draco hydra case this morning. The polished one looks great on my white S4 GE. It's polished but not mirror finish so it doesn't show fingerprints like crazy and will most likely hide little surface scratches.
As draco support said it does not effect GPS or cell reception even on my sometimes weak t mobile signal. I tested it by navigating to several locations today. Since my phone is new I had been paying attention to reception a lot so I was able to keep track of this as well.
Is it worth the price....probably not but it is the only case (bumper or other) for any phone I've ever had that doesn't look cheap or scream this phone has a case on it. The curved shape also makes it easier to hold on to a very slipper phone. However the front and back is slick enough that it doesn't make it hard to slide into a pants pocket. The grippiness comes from the curved shape and the textures polycarbonate side panels.
My only major complaint is that although the front has a nice lip to protect the phone when face down the back doesn't really so it's generally sitting on the highest point of the back which is the camera. This looks nicer but is less practical from a protection standpoint. Back protection matters a little less on a phone that has a replaceable back but it would still be nice to protect the camera more.
Also I wish it didn't say ducati on it. I debated getting the cheaper airborne case which doesn't have it but I didn't like it's design as much. I am into cars and motorcycles but I don't own a ducati so it feels silly, at least its discrete and I didn't have to put the ducati sticker on the back of my phone.
i suggest this. I would get it right now if i have the $$$ lol
