K-Box Full Coated Metal Case w/Gorilla Glass - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

I was on ebay checking out some cases, and I came across this one. What do you guys think about it?
Metal body with a Gorilla Glass screen.

UPDATE:
I would have to give the case a 8.5/10
Cons:
*Hard to connect headphone jacks, the case makes it impossible to reach (It may work for the apple and samsung headphones, haven't tried it. Only tried the beats cable).
*It does block signal somewhat.
*Makes the phone heavier, but not that much.
*The Sticky material to connect the screen on the case is not as great. After taking it off and putting it back on; the stickiness goes away. They do supply you with 1 more pack of stickies(includes 4, one each corner) but what happens when it's done? You're on your own.
Pros:
*Very stylish
*Comes with a screen protector and an aluminum button.
*Protects the phone all around.
*Not cheap material.
*Makes the S4 look like another phone.

Looks cool.

Hmm... I think they are trying too hard to look like the iPhone 5...
Also, this is a Faraday cage. It will kill reception.

I dont like how it looks like a perfect rectangle

don't think that will protect much because the transfer of stress impact will be almost directly transferred to the phone with little absorption unless there is some padding inside of it, which I doubt.

Here's a clickable link so people don't have to copy and past.

Wow , that looks unique and good. I'm always buying cases and skins to make my phones standout from everyone else's.
I'm not 100% sold on the rectangle, but it's different. So I like

Don't get this. I returned it to the seller after it completely obliterated my wireless signal. Wifi AND cellular signal. Looks cool but not worth the trade off.
Also, it looks more like HTC one than the iphone

Yeah pretty sure it's gonna kill every kind of signal trying to get in and out of that box. It does look pretty cool in my opinion though.

Dammit lol, I ordered this case, and they shipped it out. I guess if it really does destroy the signal I'm going to return it.

any updates on this case? i'm interested in getting it; can anyone speak to how much it affects signal/gps/wifi or post pics? i've used a metal case before and my signal has been fine, so i'm wondering if this will be any different.

For the love of god do not buy this, it will shield your device from receiving/transmitting any signals.

Well glass isn't conductive but still you will have signal attenuation (Signal loss) due to the casing.

Like I said, I had this case for a grand total of 2 days. It completed screwed up my signal strength and wifi strength and I presume GPS too.
It's up to you whether you want to believe me or not but my advice, don't get it.
Also, this case requires the removal of the battery door.

LOL, although aluminum/metal cases can look really good, they've always been plagued with this issues. I had 2 of them from my S3 and it was ridiculous. Terrible cell/data reception and GPS. SO i totally have to agree

I want to say taht you probably are having some signal loss, if not complete. It's a faraday cage and physics doesn't make exceptions.

dang thats pretty terrible imo

[Q] Hard Case for Desire

I am looking for good hard case, I really like this one for iphone: SwitchEasy CapsuleNeo. But it doesn't matter, I preffer good quality.
I tried leather pouch case and sillicon case and both are looking ugly and cheap after using it while. The sillicon is too thick and after three months is quite stretched.
Thanks for advice
Have you looked at these? http://www.otterbox.com/htc-cases/htc-desire-cases/

I had a PDair case on my last phone.
They are very VERY good and will really keep your phone looking like new.
BUT
Be aware that they do impact signal strength and could make the difference between 2 bars and no bars.

Really? I've never encountered such problem, though. Pdair is a very famous case maker with rich experiences, I think they will fully test the products before commercial launch?? BTW, have you asked for replacement?

If you fully encase a phone in metal, it's kind of expected that reception will be affected to some degree. I suspect that different phone will also be affected in different ways dependant on where the antenna is located.
As I said, the PDair case IS very very good and I was prepared to accept the trade off on reception (which was only really a deal in poor reception areas) against the ultimate protection for my phone. When I eventually sold the phone on eBay, the buyer did not believe this had been my work phone for the last year plus as it was in such good condition.
My experience was however in an area of marginal signal, taking the phone out of the metal case resulted in an extra bar or 2. I do not believe this to be a faulty case, just physics

Alot like the way the Htc Legend has been having poor reception due to it been made from aluminium.
I had a 2 part case and broke it due to having to take the battery or sd card out frequently with flashing roms daily. What ive got now is a Casemate Barely There and it does its job brilliantly.

It just arrived, and it is perfect! The screen protector had gone on flawlessly, and is much smoother than my last one, giving the feel and slip of a bare glass screen. The case itself is very well made, and although it adds some minor bulk to the phone,i think it looks cool. All cutouts line up perfectly, and it feels very good to hold.
Well worth the money if you don't mind the look it gives the phone.

If you have nothing better to do...

i scratched off the matte finish on the metal cover and it revealed a very stunning undercoat. I think it looks much better. I used an expired credit card to scratch it off. do not use anything metal to scratch it off, it will leave a scratch on the undercoat.
Done on a white mt4g. i think the different colored mt4g have a darker back cover.
Also it takes a very long time to do.
Pictures were taken with flash off because it shines that much.

it has a lot more grip but it does collect more oils from your hand
Hmmmm....I think I may do this in the next couple of days. I'm also wondering how it may turn out if I use my dremel to create a brushed look...decisions decisions.
I'm not sure if you want to do this, if u look next to you sd card theres a gold contact that touches the inside of the battery cover. So the coating my be a barrier between the metal and our hands to prevent signal issues i.e. Iphone 4 like signal issues. Anyone who's tried this confirm either way? I love the look just don't want to regret it later.
Did you just rub the edge of the card on it for hours? Because I've been doing it for a couple minutes and I don't think it's getting me anywhere.

If you look on the underside of the cover, the spot on the cover which touches that contact is etched away. This is to ensure contact is made without obstruction. So there is no "barrier" between the cover and this contact. Just the opposite. My guess is that it is a ground circuit to divert static electricity. Since the cover is made of metal, this would make sense. Scratching off the outer dullcoat should not have any negative effect.

[POLL] Metal Battery Cover?

Hey guys, I have a few friends who have this phone and one thing I personally don't like is the plastic back cover. I know it's durable, but it seems like a metal back cover would go better with the phone. I have a prototype place near my house and I was thinking about having metal back covers made for the Infuse. They would be painted to match the phone as well.
Would this be something of interest for anyone? If so, what would be a reasonable cost you would pay for a metal back cover? Of course, I would try to keep the cost as low as possible. Please complete the poll so I can can gauge interest for this.
Thanks!
i for one love metal backs, I would even pay a little extra for some customization!!

Yeah but I actually plan to keep this phone for awhile, so I would spend in the area of $100 for maybe a brushed metal design, maybe like a brushed metal android peeking out of something, it would just give it that extra something. If they are able to do stuff like that and you generate enough buzz I am definitely in.

Honestly I don't think it's a good idea. A metal back will probably impact antenna reception of the phone. Samsung designed this with plastic elements in mind, and the antennas lying behind the plastic will be adversely impacted. We have the second best SAR rating of any current phone, so as much as the metal back idea sounds cool, a usable phone sounds better IMHO.

A valid point, I should probably get a few made and put them on my friend's phones and see if anything is affected. I wouldn't think it would make that big of a difference though, but you could be right.
Very intrested in a metal back covers thats one of the reasons i liked hd2.
Honestly, its probably not worth the effort. Just get yourself a thin case and be happy.
i would accept one if it worked. i just have a feeling there will never be one as the phone is not designed for it. i think the all the radio antennas would be blocked or crippled and im not sure it would snap in and out easily without damaging the phone.
Maybe a transparent cover would be aswome
Plastic is more durable. It has a lower impact on signal strength. It doesn't heat up like metal can.
Sure metal looks nice, but it doesn't make sense. Although it can't possibly be worse than having a glass back.
Not to mention you need some serious flex to get it on and off.

+1 If anything I would see it being a plastic piece with a layer of metal on top...metal tabs snapping into the plastic holes seems like a nightmare waiting to happen...
this would be awesome for the aesthetics. but you would have to have a custom case or go bareback to show it off.

Weak WiFi - New case?

Once of my gripes with this phone is the weak WiFi signal.
I had a leather case on the phone, and my WiFi was greatly affected by this! I didn't even realize how much until today!
I could hardly get a signal in my room, and I would have to crane out of my chair, as I keep losing signal
I removed the case today, and wow, my signal is better! (Not the best signal device, but better than with the case on!)
I realize after all those months, that case has been greatly affecting the WiFi

Wish i could help you out there buddy... but i've never been one for covering up beauty, and one of the reasons why I got an HTC was because i liked the unibody look... would be a shame to hide all that oomph with a case!!
But these things are insanely popular, and even my wife uses one (she's prone to dropping stuff, especially if it has a battery in it!! ), and it's one of those things which is traslucent-flexible-rubberized-plasticky-something... No major gripes with WiFi with that case on, but i'd have to test it myself to form a more educated opinion...

the store where i bought my DS gave me this as a bonus. it's quite thin, thinner than my leather case. no problem with wifi. and it comes with screen protective too.
Wi Fi Problem
At the closing of the area near the Vol up even hand, there are problems with the level of the signal. May be it is worth to look case with the open part of the

I recently removed the, "traslucent-flexible-rubberized-plasticky-something" - tpu gel case and used the phone for a couple of days and not putting it back in any case again + it's older now, though scratchless except a hot rock on the back removable cover.
These cases do not affect wifi as much as the otterbox ones or leather cases
Here are the ones I have used till now - no wifi problems -

No Wifi Problems here either...
i use a case mate barely there case, i have noticed the wifi signal drops when the case is on, when i remove the signals increase, i really like the case any solutions for the wifi fix
There is no fix, except for not using that case. The barely there case kills wifi, nothing to do about it except removing the case.

Draco Hydra Bumper Case For Galaxy S4 (Review)

I was a Lumia 920 user and loved the way it looked. A month back, I switched to Galaxy S4, but soon found how cheap it looked compared to the Lumia 920. There is day and night difference in how solid Lumia felt and Samsung felt. A friend of mine told me about Draco and how good-looking your phone becomes after putting it on.
I bit the bullet and bought it. It costed me a hefty $99, and so far, I have been very happy with it.

Unlike the iPhone 5 Draco case (which I also have), there is no signal drop at all (although Draco claimed there would be no drop in signal in iPhone 5).
+ Looks amazing
+ Excellent built quality. No rattles anywhere, whatsoever.
+ Makes your phone unique
+ Does not affects cellular or Wi-Fi signal strength.
+ GPS works just fine.
+ Phone no longer feels slippery. It adds good grip, thanks to black plastic accents
- Price. At $99.99, not everybody can afford it. But if you can afford it, go, get it. Do not get the cheap knockoffs, as they may affect signal strength.
You can find my complete review here. High resolution pictures can be seen here.

pics of Ducati...
Doesn't look like it's worth that kind of money at all. Hehe.

There are some decent aluminum bumpers on eBay for less than $20.

Yes, I have one. I think I paid 10 for mine. There is no way I could ever justify 100 for a case.

I could maybe justify $100 for case, but for THAT? No way. Lifeproof or Otterbox, maybe. Maybe.
I DO like the way it looks, just far to expensive.
that ducati case looks like it makes the phone way too hard to hold on to lol
id buy the aliexpress version
Why would they put Ducati on the case? I really think it shrinks their target market down to non existent. Even if I owned a Ducati, I wouldn't want it on my phone, its just odd. And from my experience (I had one on the S3 that looked much better) it messes with the signal.
The Element Eclipse is a much better premium style case and it doesnt mess with the signal as much because the metal doesnt wrap around where the antenna is. Any metal case that wraps around the antenna location is going to mess with the signal somewhat. Plus with the element, you get full protection and you can find them for under 20 bucks on ebay.
I'm glad you're enjoying it, I doubt they sell many though because of the strange decision to slap Ducati all over it.

The draco hydra design looks cooler than those simple bumpers. Either way I enjoy the ease of removing my battery, with a case like that there wouldn't be anything easy about it

Actually, mine is very easy to take out. The face on my aluminum bumper slides off to let the phone out that's actually the only reason I bought it. The one above looks like the screw on type. That I couldn't deal with.

I had the one for s3 and iPhone 5. They did somewhat messed with cellular and WiFi radios. Looks like this issue has been resolved in GS4's case.
PS: You can choose not to put the Ducati sticker on the back. But yeah, you can do nothing about the one on the case itself.
