A random China company called Techdy made a "budget" iPhone which was SAID to be exactly what Apple's Budget iPhone would look like some time in the year (2013) ... Problem is, the specs stated there like an Qualcomm® Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and even, an IPS Backlit display all costing at $199, is too hard to believe to me.. Any ideas whether i shld buy this device? I'm scared that it suddenly got an MTK6589 processor in it -.-"
Part of me really wants this device lol, looks pretty nice.

This phone has a Tegra 3 and 1GB for less than 200 bucks, so its pretty cool
But it has a 800x480 screen and a 5mp camera, don't know if that is a bottleneck but I will notice the lack of pixels
This hits me as odd since even phones packing a MTK6577 have 720p screens and 8mp cameras now
Then theres the new leak of the Tegra 4, due to be shown next month in CES, and I feel is going to throw the Tegra 3 in the same hole the Tegra 2 is now
Of course I guess it will take a year for a Tegra 4 phone to be this cheap, but then theres the new 6588, a quadcore MTK chip with a Mali400 GPU, and the 6577 is not a bad chip, much better than I expect it to be, and looks to be already out and might be cheaper than the Tegra 3
I'm sort in cash right now I can't afford to just buy a new phone if mine goes even slightly obsolete, I don't need the best of the best just a phone that can run demanding apps a year and a half from now without being unusable-slow. Other phones with Tegra3 are far too expensive unlocked, I can't afford those.
From antutu benchmarks it seems the Tegra3 is more powerful than the dual and quad MTK chips, and theres the "optimized for tegra" part some games have that make them look better than even better chips, and being a gamer that matters a lot to me.
But with a crappy screen does the ZTE ruins the whole experience?
If you have any suggestions go ahead, just mind I'm not in the US nor Europe so no offers that are only available there
is worth buying dude, order urs now while it still have.... this is the cheapest quad core mobile, u cannot find this kind of price with 4 core CPU ..... if u mind the screen resolution, then why not u add up ur budget and buy a better one ???? ... i got U985, U950 will be my next babe ..... IF u worry about the performance for zte u950 with wgat u call "crappy screen" than pls dun buy, ... just easy as that .... right ???

where to buy it cheapest n most reliable????
I've read a few threads already about how the nexus 7 is the absolute best choice among all tables for the price to performance ratio... I'm sure it is, I will not disagree with you... My problem is I do not want a 7 inch tablet. I want a 10 inch one. Or at least a much larger one than 7 inches. I also do not want to spend 500$ for a good tablet, I'm not rich nor do I have enough money to save for a 400 or 500$ tablet. My max price is about 250, somewhere in that range... Thusbisbwhy I've referred to Chinese non brand tablets... I've read through many boards and have pretty much came across the 3 tablets to be the best. Please let me know if they are good decisions or if I should be looking up another tablet.
The ones I've found are: pipo max m9, cube g30gt2, and the primal p9x.
Is there anything I should know before thinking of these tablets as my choice? Or should I be looking at a different one. They all seem to have decent quad cores with 2gb of ram, but the primal has a better quad core, the cube has a really high res screen, and the pipo seems to be a decent one for the price with the same specs as the cube but with a lower screen res.
Please help me out!
Bump!

Affordable price.
Looking at that, it is nice, but I don't see a price anywhere. I even googled it and couldn't find it. Nor could I find any reviews on youtube about it. Thanks for the suggestion, I just need to be able to look further into it before I heavily consider it.
Anyone else?
The Nettab Space III costs ~ € 300. The accurately identically constructed Xoro PAD 9718 DR costs € 200.
Yeah, 300 euro is much more than I intend to spend...

In case you are still reading this thread, I just received a Primal P9x and am very satisfied with it. In fact I am typing this very post on it
I am hoping someone here at xda may begin developing for it, its a very worthwhile device. I am tempted to see if other exynos 4412 based roms might work on it. The apk a member here made for rooting exynos 4412 devices worked on this too.
I recommend it highly.
I got my primal p9x the other day and am very happy with it. It took almost a month to ship it from china to the us. It looks like there is only one supplier selling it. So if you want a good cheap tablet and are patient, I would say go ahead and order one.
I have seen very little information on this table on the next and its quad core Samsung Exynos processor in this tablet.
I was able to successfully root it using the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v15.zip

I got my P9x today as well and was quite pleased with it to start with (cf Cube U30GT-H it was replacing). Mine only has 1GB of Internal Storage when the specs say it should have 2GB. Towards the end of the day I noticed some issues with screen resolution (battery was low so I wonder???). It is cheap but is it too cheap?
Update - I used Chainfire's Exynos Abuse to root and patch the tablet and played around with the DPI settings 120, 160, 240... I am now using DPI 160 and the screen issues I had seem to be gone. It looks better with DPI 120 but I can't open settings in this mode.
Hey guys,
I came across this new brand called WA on the internet. They seem to launch a new phone for just $146 with a 5.5" inch full-hd display, 1.7GHz Octa-core 64-bit processor (Mediatek) and 2GB RAM. Camera is 13 megapixels and comes from Sony. It also has full 4G support. Does anybody know more about this phone or brand because it seems that there is not a lot know about this brand outside of China. What do you guys think, a decent OnePlus alternative?
Mysterious WA smartphone
After reading about the fake antutu scores posted based on octa core tablets, I do wonder just how good this is, I have a oneplus one and absolutely love the thing, but sadly after reading about the cube talk x9 and all. The other tablets that were hard-coded to give scores that were double the truth, I do worry, I love doing business in China, so I hope this phone is the real. Deal.
I think it will be hard to beat the OnePlus as the phone is just that good. Next to that it has been extremely silent about this new device...
I just got my Cube talk 9x. I really like it. I know it is old about two years but for me it is new. I have been wanting an octa core tablet just because I am a nerd and just to experience it on a tablet. I do not like Samsung Tablets and certainly did not want to spend that kind of money. I already have an Nvidia K1 and I really like it for a lot of reasons but I wanted a bigger screen and an Octa core processor with longer battery life than my Nvidia. I love the Nvidia but the battery life leaves a lot to be desired.
I did not want to spend a lot of money, $200 being my limit. As you can imagine that does not buy much in larger format tablets. First I started with the cheap amazon octa cores with the Allwiner a83t and the likes of Dragon Touch. Thank God for Amazon prime returns! Those devices were just awful and the Allwinner A83t was not a good processor. I was very wary of buying a tablet direct from China. Heard some horror stories but I took a risk anyway.
Had a bad experience with Gearbest.com but had the Cube talk 9x enough to know it was a good device even though the first one was defective. Dealing with Gear best turned into a PayPal claim.
I tried Geekbuying and had a much better experience.
So now I have my Cube and I received new March 17th update. Of course I was hoping for Lollipop but no. Still on KitKat but I have to say it is very smooth. Very stable build of Android. Ram usage seems very well optimized.
So what makes this tablet special? Well for the cost only one other tablet in this size range has the same amount of ram which is the Lenovo tab2 a10. The Lenovo is nice with a 64 bit quad core cortex a53 media tek processor clocked at 1.7, full HD screen. However the Cube has a 32 bit octa core cortex a7 clocked at 1.7 and a retina screen. The Cube is made from a solid Aluminum body while the Lenovo is plastic. The Cube also has gorilla glass 2 while the Lenovo just has glass. Acer has a new 10.1" tab with a mediatek 8151 cortex a53 octa core processor and 1 GB ram and a 1280 x 800 screen. Unfortunately the low res screen and 1 GB of ram really hurt the user experience. The acer also feels cheap and is full of pre loaded apps. I bought the Acer only to return it because of the glitchy or defective WiFi and other things I mentioned.
Of course you could spend a lot more and have a super experience but I just can't justify $500 or more on a tablet. My computer costs about that much.
The Cube seems really well made. The updates after 2 years since it's release from a no name company is impressive as some of the brands I have had above barely udate their tablets. I still think Cube should release Lollipop but KitKat works well.
This tablet has the 1.7 GHz octa core processor, 2 gigs of ram, retina screen, 3g, 16 gig ROM, stereo speakers at the bottom of the tablet, 10,000 mah battery. Pretty impressive specs even for an older device. The limitations of the of the device are the 32 bit a7 cores used are better for power efficiency than performance. The newer mediatek 8151 which has the newer cortex 64 bit a53 cores perform much better while still being rather power efficient. For example the Acer with only 1gb or ram scored over 37,000 points on Anutu while the talk 9x with double the ram scored only 28,000 points roughly. Acer did a very good job of optimizing the ROM on their tablet. The Cube T9 has the newer octa core processor but it was over my price range.
However this tablet stock unrooted performs really well. There was not a lot of junk apps installed and most apps give you an option to install to SD card. Really the only drawback to this tablet is the partitioning. Seems like a common practice on the tablets from China. Not sure why. A horrible practice. You can root the device and try to repartition it but you could also brick the device in the process. The mediatek tools at not the easiest for me to use so I am not going to go there. Specially when the tablet runs great .
So I highly recommend this tablet with a couple of caveats. It is at the end of its life so it is really cheap but if you think it will be updated to Marshmallow or N you can forget it. Lollipop could happn but I would not hold my breath. The 2 gig app limit really sucks and there is no easy way to solve the problem.
So if you are looking for an amazing device for a good price I do not know of a better deal anywhere. Is the Octacore hype. Personally I don't think so. Sure there is marketing hype but the Octacore really feels snappy while the huge battery makes it last!
There are not a lot of these devices left. Seems Cube is now focused on dual boot tablets with Intel processors. I wish they would come out with a new octacore processor android tablet like the Nvidia x1 or the newer cortex a53 octa core from mediated. The t9 if you can find it would perform even better but the build quality and aluminum frame just really make this an enjoyable experience. If you want one I would act now.
Thanks for the first details of the tablet. Have you had a chance to test battery life yet?
I haven't let it run down yet. The lowest I got was to 79%. The charger and cable that come with the device are pretty much useless. Using a Lenovo 2amp tablet charger seems to charge pretty quickly. It does not have fast charge but so far it seems to charge up pretty fast and last pretty long. I will try and see if I can run down the battery to give a better approximation of the run time.
MKBHD said cheap phones are getting better and good phones are getting cheaper.
I have been already wondering how chinese phones are so cheap.
Not to mention reputed company like Nokia and Motorola are entering this midrange and low-end killar spec game.
I guess they keep less profit than others.
Are phone processor sold like Intel and AMD processor?
I heard sd450 cost $10.5 but where they are sold .
Let say components of a cheap phone :
How much each of this component will cost ?
Qualcomm Snapdragon 429
16GB EMMC 5.1
2GB LPDDR3 800mhz
OV13855-GA5A-2A 1.12um camera module
OV08856 1.12um 8mp camera module
5.7 INCH IPS LCD 720P 18:9
5 Magnet Transducer type speaker
3500MAH lithium battery.
How much a metallic casing and dragon tail glass/ gorilla glass cost actually?
How PCB are made and how complex they are for a smartphone?
What about XDA making its own phone with sd855 and complete custom XDA ROM ?
These are all wondering Inside my head . Anyway I hope I gonna have some answers.
I am waiting for everyone's opinion .
Somehow MKBHD is right
