Welcome Bro,
Its simple. Download any rom which is without boot.img in it. The file will be in .zip format. Just install Winrar into ur computer. Download any boot.img files you like from this page Here. then open the Rom file which doesn't contain boot .zip file using winrar. Click on "ADD" button and select the boot.img file you downloaded. Thats all you now have the rom with boot.img file in zip format dont save because you need not to, its already saved . Make a backup of all your files and Kindly follow all instruction from Developer. ( MY Suggestion:-download one more different ROM because if one rom fails then you can try to install another )
Please correct me if I have said anything wrong. :highfive:

.img file is a zip file (more or less). Use 7zip for that.

You could use dxisida's android kitchen to do all tasks, you put the system.img and boot.img in the 'original' folder and then make it a update.zip rom through the kitchen.
thanks all~! once my xtc clip arrived will try to do it. still waiting T_T...

It's a bit late to ask but did you get any clues to extract the radio.img. ?
I recently installed that fitdroid 2.0 rom with KPL firmware... And I just dont want that image of fitdroid that comes before boot animation.can we change that too??? Thx b4 for your attention all.
Not very hard...just flash with the boot.img of original KPL !!
Hey,thanks for the solution partyush. But how do i flashed it? With Odin? Could u please explain it to me step by step? And if i did the flashing with original KPL,will it destroy data on my phone or not? Thanks

OK,now i'm really need help on how to do that (if it's really possible). I already did extracting the zip archive of the fitdroid so i can see the boot.img and then i replaced it with another boot.img from other FW (including CM7 and original KPL) then i make zip with winrar, copy it to my sdcard and install via CWM (succesfully). The result is the logo before bootanimation changed and then it's stuck,it won't go trough the bootanimation. I really curious ,is there's a special way on creating zip archive or it' just not possible to insert another boot.img to archive?
And then i found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654042 it's HTC Eris thread,so can i apply this on Fit? Sorry for my english and many thanks for your attention

I'm on a doubt whether you meant unpacking or extracting boot.img. Anyways if its unpacking -> you can use Ketut Kumajay's boot.img unpack/repack tools or dsixda's Android kitchen etc.
If you meant extracting boot.img -> you can get it by taking a Nandroid backup in CWM recovery and extracting from it.
Thanks guy

Hello xdawesome forum,
If I want to make my own .zip file to flash it using CWM and boot in some linux distro; say debian, what should be included in this .zip file?
Is it as simple as putting my .img file in a .zip file?
I think your best option is to follow this tuto : whiteboard.ping.se/Android/Debian
If you try to flash directly a debian img, you'll miss some libraries and won't even boot.

@Manu11, are you referring to extracting the boot.img from the firmware?

I unpacked my boot.img with android kitchen, but on recompiling its size went 5mb less and on flashing it directly enters fastboot.
The android kitchen is no longer continued from 2011, so the binaries haven't been updated since then.
I suggest you use "android image kitchen"
