You could nandroid backup it, extract the image and zip & sign it up.

i know about nandroid but how i extract the image & zip? and how do i sign it? is there any tut that i can follow & learn?

.img file is a zip file (more or less). Use 7zip for that.

You could use dxisida's android kitchen to do all tasks, you put the system.img and boot.img in the 'original' folder and then make it a update.zip rom through the kitchen.

thanks all~! once my xtc clip arrived will try to do it. still waiting T_T...

how do i pull the radio file?

If that's the firmware you need, just download it and put in a zip file.
right click on the folder then add to archive. use the compression method store.
That should work but do a backup before hand just in case.
I tried to zip it and rename it to update.zip and install it via cwm recovery but the recovery said that it failed on signature.. Something.,,

The file is already a zip file, it's just in the wrong compression method...
using winrar, open the zip file, then tools, then convert archive.
A box should appear, change the archive format to zip, and compression method to store.
Hi, isaias19, I also have a prototype o3d. I can not use it after rom(v10d, v10e) upgrade. If possible, could you post your v08 rom backup file using cmw?? Thanks.
@ modernbruce
we have the same problem , i did not backup my stock rom thats why iam searching for the v08 firmware. =C
Hi ,
For your case update.zip will not solve your problem.
you need dump your system and replace by another one:
To see your partition :
adb shell cat /proc/partitions
After try use these command to put your new system :

Can anyone post a stock recovery img?

Unfortunately this shows you've done no research before flashing your phone. The RUU (ROM Upgrade Utility) is the stock ROM for your specific device. It's ALWAYS recommended to have it handy in case you ever need to restore your phone back to stock
I have nandroid backups, just never used the RUU. How do I extract from an Exe just an Img file?
1. Start the RUU. When you get to the first main page move it to the bottom of your screen so you can only see the title bar (otherwise it's always in front of everything)
2. Click Start>Run and type %temp%
3. Look for the newest folder in there. Within this is a ZIP file called 'rom' - open this with a decent program like 7-Zip
4. Extract the recovery file from it

Check the contents of the zip file, if it contains a .ftf file inside it you have to extract and use flashtool to flash it.
If it contains an updater-script then its probably a recovery flashable file, which means it won't work using flash tool.
If you rename and try, you most probably will get an error from the flashtool.
But i doubt its possible to brick your phone that way though
it contains .sin files and meta-inf folder

Most likely you should be able to. But can you quote the source and name of the file maybe?

Welcome Bro,
Its simple. Download any rom which is without boot.img in it. The file will be in .zip format. Just install Winrar into ur computer. Download any boot.img files you like from this page Here. then open the Rom file which doesn't contain boot .zip file using winrar. Click on "ADD" button and select the boot.img file you downloaded. Thats all you now have the rom with boot.img file in zip format dont save because you need not to, its already saved . Make a backup of all your files and Kindly follow all instruction from Developer. ( MY Suggestion:-download one more different ROM because if one rom fails then you can try to install another )
Please correct me if I have said anything wrong. :highfive:

[Q] What's in the .zip file I flash?

Hello xdawesome forum,
If I want to make my own .zip file to flash it using CWM and boot in some linux distro; say debian, what should be included in this .zip file?
Is it as simple as putting my .img file in a .zip file?
I think your best option is to follow this tuto : whiteboard.ping.se/Android/Debian
If you try to flash directly a debian img, you'll miss some libraries and won't even boot.
