i've no idea what could be the problem. the pad HASNT been routed.
What says the error message?

whats fastboot??
Fastboot allows you to flash surtain things (like bootloader, kernel and so on) you can get into the bootloader by pressing volume down+ power button at the same time and hold it depending on what bootloader you have you would see different icons: on the 4.1 bootloader there are 4 icons and on the 4.2 ones there are 3
so please give me this info: the bootloader version (just copy all of the stuff in the left corner of the bootloader) and what you exactly did before it "stopped working"!

Anything/????
What did you exactly do before this happend: unlocked your bootloader?, flashed a custom recovery?, flashed a custom rom?
if you DO NOT have a custom recovery or unlocked bootloader:
1: go to the bootloader (VOL- +power)
2: go to the "wipe data" option (the most right icon)
3: select it with the VOLUME+ key!
4: reboot
DO THIS ONLY IF YOU HAVE A LOCKED BOOTLOADER OR STOCK RECOVERY ELSE YOU WILL BRICK YOUR TABLET PERMANENTLY!!!!!!!!!!

The tablet is 100% standard. No custom roms
then do the following:
go to bootloader go to the furthes right icon it should be "wipe data" with an android icon above an arrow pointing to a box (or something like that )
select it with your vol up key!
WARNING: this will REMOVE all your data (excpect micro sd)

Is there no other way?
F#$k :/:/
No! If you had an unlocked BL you could backup it and you can only unlock your tab if it boots!
I am sorry!

I am trying to flash a custom recovery with fastboot but it is not working. When i put the device in fastboot mode it says"Starting Fastboot USB download protocol" but the screen doesn't change. When I flash it in CMD it says it finished but the device still does nothing. Then the same when I try to reboot it via flashboot. It says it is done but the device does nothing and I still have no custom recovery.

If fastboot is not working you need to look at 2 things: 1)Android SDK is not installed or 2)driver is not installed correctly. BTW, is your device rooted and unlocked and what version of firmware?
Edit: Also make sure usb debugging is checked in settings.

I second what buhohitr says...an unlocked tab is imperative to the process.
My device is unlocked but not rooted( I am trying to root it right now). I think it might be the SDK. I'm not sure if I installed it so I will do that now. Thanks

Are you saying it says finished on the cmd prompt? Then it is done :cyclops:
I think you are missing the point.
It won't immediately take you into recovery.
You need to send the reboot command, then power off, power on again with vol down held down until the 4 icons appear, then volume up on RCK which should be default and now you should be in a custom recovery

OK, so everything is clear, you're unlocked. Now back to my previous post:
1. SDK installation (check step 1 (jre java, you probably already have this...everyone does and step 3: SDK)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842969
2. USB driver:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706588
Make sure your usb debugging and unknow sources are both checked in settings. (if they are not, please try first before proceed to step 1).
Hello, I have noticed that there is no longer a fast-boot icon on the Bootloader.
I have found a workaround for this using Cyanogenmod 10.1.
1. Go to settings > Developer Options
2. Enable advanced reboot
3. when rebooting select "Fastboot" from the menu
Also, this very but you can still select options well in fast-boot. For instance I could highlight and select recovery when in fast-boot. It seems ASUS does not want us to be able to use fast-boot.

yes, Fast boot is enabled...UNLESS you pick one of those three options by using the volume up button (enter).
I have been trying to put cwm on the tf300t for about two days now reading everything and still got no where. The device is unlocked i used asus apk to unlock it. every time i do the power and down step i do not have the usb option just rck, cold start, wipe data. i cant do anything with fast boot to put cwm onto the tablet. any help would be appreciated. i tried reinstalling fast boot and reseting the tablet. i am on 4.2.1
Which guide are you using? The 4.2 bootloader automatically connects in fastboot mode as far as I know when you get into the bootloader menu which is why the USB icon isn't there. You should be able to use fastboot commands whilst in the bootloader menu

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I did read that somewhere and i tried running the recovery through fastboot but it just says waiting and does nothing. I also noticed when i plug it into the computer it says fastboot on the usb but it has a little symbol next to it as if it wasnt running right, but i have reinstalled it a few times
AFAIK, there is no version of CWM compatible with the 4.2 bootloader. You'll need to use the TWRP versions that end with -42.
I have tried installing TWRP running command "fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery twrp.blob" still no luck just says waiting for device and the tablet stays at the rck screen
tried to enter fastboot to flash flatline nvflash but keep getting these three options.
RCK, ANDROID, WIPE DATA.
Why doesn't fastboot menu come up?

When You see those three icons You already in fastboot mode (for JB bootloaders).
I video on YouTube showed a USB. Must of been previous updates.

If I'm correct, USB icon exist only on 4.0 firmware and 4.1+ have only message in top left corner that fastboot is enabled.
