[Q] usb cable charges phone not connect it for data transfer

hey guyz,
I am new in the forum. I am having problem in connecting the phone to my PC. whenever i connect it to the usb, it starts charging without any notification asking for connecting through usb or else. how to connect it through my PC?

You need usb drivers installed on your pc...

But windows automatically installs the drivers right? (if not found)

No...
It installs drivers if the device already has the same included...
Fit is not plug-and-play, which means you need to install drivers manually...or install kies...
Whichever you prefer...

You don't have to use it if you don't want. Installing Kies means you're installing USB drivers, you don't have to start kies everytime when you connect ur phone through usb. I've installed kies but never used it. I use it HIGHLY OCCASIONALLY.

Yup kies is waste of mem (if u ask me ) for drivers go to sammobile website registr n check our phn specific drivers its just around 25mb file dats easy if u dnt want kies

I found it easier to install drivers kies then uninstall kies

I have installed the drivers which were given in the thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606380) but still it is not recognized by windows 7. it still starts charging. i have tried even toggling the debug mode.
but still no luck. any other option guyz?

Even after installing kies it is still charging. Device is not connected to kies.
hey i am using the usb cable of galaxy ace. is it the problem? but i think these cables can be used on both the devices.

I use the same cable on 2 different blackberry's, my nokia 5310 and c3, samsung monte, and acer liquid metal...
So I don't think that's the problem...
Have you tried using a different computer?

yes i have triedon different computers also.. but its not working there too.

I had the problem too. I did this to connect my phone:
1. Go in DownloadMode. Now, the computer must install drivers, like odin.
2. If the installation finished, hold down the Powerbutton for 10 seconds. It'll restart, if nothing happens try to start with holding the powerbutton again.
3. Then, if the phone is started, your computer finds the phone!
I'm not responsible for any damages!!!!

Your usb cable is not good man..i had the same experience.Try some other cable.

Hi, I have problem to connect my GT- I9003 to computer, I try followings but not useful .
change pc, cable, drivers ...
factory reset, wipe data/factory reset *
*#7284#
usb debug
gingerbreak, z4root
and other solutions that i found in forums
anyone can help me ?
i think there is a software problem and if i can change firmware so it work . but my device don't rooted .
i have 2 question :

2) a method to root without pc

actually there is way withour connecting to PC.. flashing a zip file from your stock samsung recovery but the file can be bugged/corrupt.etc its not safe so DONT TRY IT.
You said your phone is not detected by your PC and you tried everything why dont you try it with your friends computer/laptop if it still doesnt work then your phone's USB port have some problem.(Hardware Problem)

I try with my two laptop. With my car music player, with my office computers but don,t work.
Today try to clean connectors . Then when connect it , the "not recognized..." massage apears. Reinstaling drivers (I have 4 different driver) & reinstaling kies don't change it.
In the past when connect, nothing respond from pc.
In the other try, cut the usb cable from middle, remove cover of each wire , connect red & black wire(they are for charging) and then connect red wires to green wire that becomes from mobile side. So kies logo apears on mobile! When try from other side(green wire from pc) , pc says "not recognized...". But when connect the green wires to eachother , nothing happend.
You sayd install from stock recovery. Try several zip file before. But "failed to verify the whole-file signature" was result.
Is there any zip file that can use from stock recovery. I know instaling stock roms don't need root.

Installing stock ROM for 2.3.6 doesn't need root access but it requires ODIN.. but you cannot connect to PC.. your USB port of your phone is not working well.. did you try at samsung service centre ??

Service center is my last option.

R u able to connect it with mass storage mode..? If S then its a driver problem. If thats the case i'll give u the link of another(not kies) driver.. Install n Try it.. Jst reply

when you connect your phone to pc, the pc show usb device not reconized, mean most properly, your PC usb driver mass up. try uninstall all USB driver by manually in windows devices manager and reinstall the driver.

If you're able to go in the download mode and still not being detected in odin, do the following-
Open the back panel of your device.
Press the download mode combo along with the reset button which is between the camera and speaker of the phone (you'll need help of another person to do so).
You're device must be detected by now.
If still the phone is not detected, you probably lack drivers for the phone in your pc. Best way to get them is install kies on your pc.

...or try to connect the usb cable directly on the pc without any usb hub

Odin doesn't detect your phone but does Windows detect it?
That is the first step to see if it is a driver problem or a software problem.

just unistall kies from ur PC and if u have installed Samsung drivers separately, remove that also...then robot the windows...now install Samsung kies...then connect ur phone in normal mode frst.let the drivers get installed..then after that remove the usb cable.. switch off ur phone, go to download mode in mobile, then open odin and connect the phone in download mode..it will be detected...

If all their suggestions still doesn't solve your problem, try it using other PC. It will work. I have also experienced that. Hehe...

KIES is the solution.
You just install it, and it will install the drivers you need.
After that you won´t have ant other trouble.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will not enter file transfer mode

I am running Jelly Beast 4.2 on my tablet, and I cannot get it to transfer files to any computer, windows or mac. When I connect the USB cable, it will charge, and I have tried both MTP and PTP, but nothing ever pops up on my tablet or computer. I even tried switching to Sungsonic ROM, but it still doesn't work.

buddy u ned to install Samsung usb driver in order to detect d device in pc
u cn do so by either installing kies or jst serch xda 4 usb driver, I remember a page here frm where I hav downloaded it..

I think the problems is deeper than that. I have the driver installed, but the computer does not recognize that a USB device is plugged in, and the tablet goes into charge mode

Don't have ur Tab......
To enter download mode u have to have ur tablet disconnected from the computer. Then once u r in download mode then open Odin and then plug ur tablet into your computer.

Off late I hav started facing the same issue
Viz. I hav drivers instaled (tried two of em) , bt it doesn't show up on the pc. Just a error mesg on the tab saying that no compatible software found on pc and all...

[Q] SP tools stuck at Searching

I have a Canvas 2 ..I downloaded the drivers,the firmware and sp tools and I followed the procedure and clicked on "Firmware upgrade" then I switched off my device and plugged it but it doesn't start the flashing process.
In the bottom bar it says "searching" and doesn't change at all !
What do I do ?
My device is not rooted or neither had a CWM and i don't want to root also !
Now what should I do to get my device updated with official stock jellybean ?

Bro I to had a similar problem
1)if you have drivers of any other android it doesn't work in my case install samsung kies
2)use drivers of mobistel cynus t2 drivers for best results

See I have these drivers installed.
1) Samsung USB Driver ...since I have a Galaxy ace also.
2) Micromax Driver which is found in the mobile itself when connected to the pc
3) Mobistel driver
4) VCOM driver
that's all ...why one of them should I uninstall ?

Uninstall Samsung driver bro couple of days back while flashing through flash tools it keeps searching before that no problem I have remembered that I have installed drivers using kies to flash through odin jst tried uninstalling kies and samsung drivers my problem solved

Even after installing VCOM drivers ..I faced the same issue ...should I restart my pc and try or something ?

I don't know how but the problem got solved by clicking the DOWNLOAD BUTTON ! ...
Now i'm using jeallybean which is bloody fast.
