A way for non programmers to send push notifications? - General Questions and Answers

I'm a web designer who developed an android app for a client with the help of an android developer. Is there an easy way for my client, who knows no code, to send push notifications? I was hoping for a simple app or website where he could load his contacts who've downloaded his app, then create a push message, then choose who among his contacts to send it to. Does such a thing exist? Thank you for any feedback.

[Q] Disable conversation view gmail?

How do i disable conversation view in gmail on android ... it isn't that i don't like conversation view ... the issue that i have with it is when enabled you cannot assign different labels to different threads within one conversation
Thanks in advance
Kris
Wow no one interested in this? I have the same question for my galaxy s
Same question here... can't stand conversation view on anything. Maybe just not used to it... but anyways....
Is there a way to disable conversation view in the Gmail app?
Same with me.
Same here too. I know that you now have the ability to switch off conversation view in desktop gmail. Need the same for android gmail. Perhaps in a future update Google?
Perhaps some time in the very distant future, by the looks of it
Google developers seem to be focussed on teenagers (in an effort to compete with Apple, perhaps?), who invariably receive tiny e-mails and have no problem with dozens or even hundreds of messages being bundled together - but when you're actually trying to get anything of consequence accomplished via e-mail, you'll very quickly find yourself rushing to the nearest computer to open your Gmail, 'cause stumbling through dozens of hundred-line-long messages in threaded view on the 'phone is an utter nightmare.
For the time being, it looks like the only solution is to enable IMAP in your Gmail account, then use K-9 Mail to access it that way (and disable mail synchronisation in Android for your Gmail account so you don't get double the notifications).

group texting

i need a way to set up a distribution group so that i can just send a mass text to everyone. i don't want to get handsent or any other messager, i liike the stock one.
i've already created the group on my gmail but it doesn't seem to sync to my phone, anyone know how i can accomplish this?
i use GO SMS
it does group texting super easy and convenient
the only bug is that if you attach any photo or document to the group SMS/MMS only the first person will get the attachment, the rest only gets the text
I used handcent for group messaging, u can try that. Also, u can customize it to ur liking.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium

Simple android endpoint app

I have this particular problem: I don't have a phone, but I have a Skype phone number, SMS is very convenient but Skype cannot receive SMS from phones however it can send SMS to phones. So I send my friends texts but it is one way.
I'm a web developer, not a platform developer <- much harder in my opinion, syntax
So, if I created a database to store messages, users, and used that as an API and I wanted a simple app with a text box that you can write into and receive, with a send button / search for user/contact, how hard is that to do for all three platforms? Connect to the database then communicate with this app as if it was a native SMS client.
Maybe it already exists...
I think it's a good idea.
Although I should just get a phone ha
Any thoughts would be appreciated, maybe I'll make it myself. Android then Windows then Apple

[Q] Sending telegram messages from VB.net

Hi,
I would like to send messages to the phone of our employees, from our ERP (developed by ourselves in visual studio 2008), through Telegram application. I've been searching a lot in internet and I found anything useful for me. I see there is an API available, but I don't know how to use it in VS2008. Can you help me, please?
If you know any application that can send messages for me using in batch mode, it would be useful as well.
Thank you very much!

[APP][4.0.3+] Quiet for Gmail - Block email notifications

Hi,
I was looking for an app to block notifications during weekends for some email accounts but I couldn't, so I've developed one.
It allows you to create a schedule so you can avoid work email notification in your free time.
In addition to that, it also allows you to override your schedule temporarily for special events like a day off.
I could have switched to another email client but I was happy with the official Gmail app.
How does it work?
Well, it just toggles the synchronization on/off based on the schedule you define within the app.
In order to discover the email accounts in your device I need to use the GET_ACCOUNTS permission. Sadly, it belongs to the CONTACTS group starting Android 6. Please, tell me if you find a way to work around this.
I'm sorry but I can't post the link yet, but you can find the app on Google Play, just search for "Quiet for Gmail"
I hope you find it useful and I'm looking forward to getting some feedback from you :fingers-crossed:
