[TIP] Best Headphone Sound for Nexus 4 - Nexus 4 Accessories

After Buying and experimenting a Lot with Nexus 4 Headphones, I found out something which was awesome.
If you had the Old Samsung Galaxy Nexus (I9250), Try using the pair of headphones with Nexus4 and you wont be disappointed or rather jump in joy like I did after wasting so much on all other headphones.

[Q] Best phone for audio

I own a SGS2 at the moment. I like it. But I don't rate it listening to music through earphones. I am using some Sennheiser CX300s which are not the best but much better than any bundled earphones.
I've been reading about Wolfson DACs and so forth.
So which phones deliver a good loud sound through the earphones? And on the subject which phones have a clear loud speaker/s? Its annoying because the reviews rarely cover these areas. And even the manufacturers don't really bother publishing audio specs. Music is a killer app for me.
It's kind of funny but the SGS2 downgraded to a Yamaha DAC and has sound that isn't quite as good as the original SGS. All the variants including the Nexus S have the Wolfson DAC that is actually pretty good. Used with Voodoo sound, it's a good audio player. I use custom IEMs and enjoy the sound alot. Hope it helps
Come on folks this is an important topic. BTW does anyone know if the LG Optimus 7 has the Wolfson wm8994 headphone amp. And what are the best Nokia phones like for audio.
I have have to move on to the iPhone 5 or a Nokia Windows Phone in a few months. The SGS2 is not a great mp3 player imho.

I think Iphone offered quite good sound quality + iphone 5 is coming out soon, you might want to check it out. The best way is go buy those $500 earphone for a good sound.

i own a HTC HD2, sound is pretty good, but i have to say Iphones sound great.

The iphone and ipods both have ****ty built in amps. I would only use them with a line out dock to bypass the internal amp, and buy a nicer portable amp.

Klipsch S4A II sound on N4 vs. iPod Nano 6g

So, I have been listening to various tracks with my new S4s on both my iPod and my N4 (320kbit files, and yes the earphones are burned in) and even with faux sound, the iPod audio is far better. Besides the louder volume level, it's just so much more clear and defined. I am not exactly an audiophile, but I know what good audio sounds like. Also, I am no where near an Apple fan boy, only got this because I wanted something to take the storage space for music off of my phone. Have any of you had better results with your phones or should I stuck to the iPod? Also for anyone who's interested I've been listening to The Naked and Famous and the Beastie Boys as of recent.

Should of went with the x10's. I have the s4's also and there is a huge clarity difference. Not that the s4's are bad, don't take me the wrong way. Either way the nexus 4 sound is pretty awesome

It's good quality no doubt, but I guess since the DAC may not be as good the quality is not as high. Stupid apple, this is the only apple product I like. I would have gotten the X10s, but I got my S4A IIs for 45$ new so it was a steal.

Compared to Galaxy S and DAC mode of FiiO E7, the Nexus 4 is definitely lacking when it comes to audio quality. I stopped listening to music on my Nexus 4. Being fairly busy, this means I've pretty much stopped listening to music. If I hadn't lost my Sansa Clip, I would be carrying sound both my phone and that small MP3 player.
Klipsch X10 and HiFiMan RE0 are my main IEMs. In the market for high quality buds, or Yuin PK3 repair.

X10's for $80 on amazon. S4's for 45 also on amazon. Can't go wrong. Just wish they had an inline mic. Any way. The sound difference between apple and the nexus, for me is neglible.

Agree here as well. As long as the quality is there, I can mess with the EQ here and there on Poweramp to make my ears happy. I am using the V-Moda M100's so I am already quite happy lol.
Its unfair to compare the 2. With that said, the n4 sounds really good compared to my previous android phones. Android phones are gaining ground, slowly but surely. There will be a company that will take on the challenge of making an android phone with hardware and software dedicated to playing music without trying to capitalize on gimmicks (HTC beats, what a joke). Its just a matter of time, at least thats what I hope
I have contemplated buying an iPod to free up my phone but I don't think it works for me because I am forgetful. I rely on my phone for music, I absolutely hate to be without music which has kept my phone safe and on my persons lol. If I had an iPod I fear I would forget my phone more than I already do.

I've almost lost the iPod a few times already, but I don't even let my nexus leave my sight lol. I guard this thing with probably as much energy as one would guard a suitcase full of money.

Headphone Help!

Hey everybody, I am currently in the market for some new earbud headphones for my S4. I have heard about a lot of people having problems with no stock headphones and I want to avoid that. The headphones I am looking for need the following features:
1. Fit comfortably in ear and don't fall out when running (I personally really like the iPhone 5 style headphones for this)
2. Has volume/track control & mic that works for Android (most seem to be apple only)
3. Decent to Good audio quality
4. Hopefully not super tangley material
Please let me know what you guys think, I am having a hard time finding headphones with those constraints. I would be happy with the iPhone 5 headphones, except for the controls not working and they tangle horribly and easily. My budget is in the $100 range but I'm open to whatever suggestions.
Take a look at yurbud. I just bought some, just waiting for them to come in. The only problem is that the don't have the volume control but do have the mic and track button.

The default thing people will reccommend to you would be the Klipsh Image S4's although there is a designated android version, it only has a one button remote. As far as I know, the only headphones/earbuds that have a 3 button remote for android are the stock S4 headphone's, a variant of urbeats and I believe there is one more but I cant quite think of it.
You can also check out Head-Fi for reviews on headphones by audiophiles.

Get some bose ie2 headphones. 99 bucks retail. Great sound. They never fall out. They are exactly what you are looking for. I love mine.

Earphones for Nexus 6P. Sugestion please

I have a philip earphone for nexus 5, and its working well. But when I used it to my brand new Nexus 6P. The volume is too weak.
What working earphone you are using for nexus 6P? Add comment too. TIA.
Mine are Sennheiser CX300-II, to me it seems they get very loud, I never go much higher than 60% volume.

i personally cant wait for the Z:ero digital earphones to come out with a USB C version.
the micro usb version i got are the best pair of buds i have listened to...
Using Jaybirds X2 - love them so far! Coming from Shure 425's and I think the sound is great. No connectivity issues.
My xiaomi pistons don't fit well, the metal part of the jack seems to be too long. Not had a problem with any other phone. They will work, but require an amount of in/out before connection is achieved.
My trusty Klipsch S4A II buds sound great on my 6P. Crazy to think this is the fourth phone I've used them on!

Galaxy S8 Might Ditch the Heapdhone Jack, Thoughts?

So let me just start this off by saying that I'm not a firm believer in one side or another. I've used a Galaxy S3 and E5 extensively (over a year each) and I've had my s7 for 6 months or so. I also used a IPhone 5 and iPad air for over a year each. I currently use a 2012 MacBook for school work and use my self built pc for everything else.
IMHO, my best experience with a phone is probably a tie between a jailbroken iPhone 5 and an Galaxy E5 running CM13. On one hand, the jailbroken iphone offered all the customizability that stock android offers and more, and was a joy to use. The E5 running Cyanogenmod was incredibly snappy and was just an amazingly customizable experience.
Now that that's out of the way, I want to know, what are your thoughts on the Galaxy S8 not having a headphone jack? I honestly might revert to IPhone use from my S7 when I upgrade unless it has an unlocked bootloader. I don't link the standard that Apple set and I have headphones which I paid good money for, which will become basically obsolete. I know that people over here at XDA will find a way to root it even if it's unrootable out of the box, but I also know that the Pangu team will probably find a way to jailbreak iOS 10-11, and if they do I'm probably switching back to iPhone. I stayed with my S7 over waiting for the iPhone 7 mainly for the headphone jack, root, and wireless charging.
So what will you guys do, stick with Samsung or switch to an apple product. I'm really curious to see how the community will react to this.
My next phone will not be a Samsung especially if they dont have headphone jacks. If the s7 gets the bootloader unlocked i will stick with it for awhile tho. If not i will probably go towards google for my next phone. I will never own an iPhone again i hated everything about my 5S lol
I started a new job back in August and i was told that we are able to listen to music, but the headphones must be wireless because of safety around equipment. i bought a pair of Aukey headphones that were $10 on Amazon. Ever since then, i have not wanted to go back to wired headphones. This is one of those things that i feel is easy to go against, but once you try it, you'll love it. Now of course i can understand why audiophiles are not pleased in addition to the average consumer. I think the S8 will be fine without a headphone jack. Bluetooth is just so convenient. As more companies ditch the headphone jack, the technology behind it will get better faster. Although, for now the S7 is my last samsung device because of how locked down it is to rooting. I will go to a pixel in a year or 2.
I haven't used wired headphones in years except to try out the free headphones I got with my v20. I work in a shop so wired headphones would be a safety Hazzard, plus Bluetooth is just so much more convenient. I do however not like the idea of taking something like a headphone jack out of a phone. You may not always use it, but there are times when you'll wish you had one. With that said I do plan on getting the s8+ because I really miss Samsung even after the note 7 fiasco, but I'm too impatient to wait for the note 8.

I could care less.
In all the phones Ive had over many years I have never even opened the headphones let alone plugged a set in to one of my devices.
So yeah, not something I will even notice if its gone LOL

Galaxy S phones were never good audio player anyway, for that you must get an HTC, this is crazy when you know samsung were the mp3 player kings with the P2 and P3 couple years ago

The problem is that a dedicated headphone jack occupies space. To include it in a phone of a given size, you have to skimp on something else that is more useful. So I'm in favor of removing the jack.
i don't care
bluetooth tech is become better and better so i don't need to think about high quality sound through wires or bluetooth.
i think it didn't use headphone jack for 2 yrs! it s just become dusty hole for my phones! anyway I don't like iPhone
It'll be a deal breaker for me. I don't have to have the thinnest lightest phone possible, but I do have to have a headphone jack. I loved my Note 7 and my Note 7 version 2, but now I'm rocking a V20 which admittedly has way better audio quality than Samsung's ever had. I'd still go back to Samsung for the screen though as long as it has a headphone jack.
Lack of headphone jacks don't bother me since I use BT headphones but I can understand why you would want one of you're an audio enthusiasts.
