My daughter broke her Nexus 7 tablet and its not functioning and she has installed lots of games on it. Today I got her a Galaxy Tab2, I signed in with her google account but it will not install what she had on the Nexus 7. Is there a way to do that or I need to have her install it manually?

I am pretty sure if it didnt automatically download anything it will have to be downloaded manually. Did you click restore from google account when setting up the tablet?

How did she break it? Also, why a Tab 2?

I did but nothing happened. I notice that it works sometimes but not all the time. I had that problem in the past with the Android phones.

She probably dropped it on the concrete floor at the driveway or something. Anyways, fixing that cracked screen is expensive. So I bought her a slightly used Tab 2 instead. At least I can put in additional 32gig storage for her to save her stuffs which the Nexus 7 can''t

Sorry about that, looks like you are gonna have to manually redownload the apps i don't think there is another way to automatically download them all back unfortunately.

I just got my phone today. Still getting used to it. Not used to the keyboard at all!
First thing I did was get YouTube working then get stupid zombies
What did you do?
I came from HTC magic (sapphire) then to a Sony x10. So this is my 3rd generation device.
Is there any point to rooting this phone outside of customizing the ui or overclocking?
I got advanced task killer.

Rooting opens a lots of possibilities.
Like add or remove system apps
zip align

The first thing I did with my Nexus S 4G was root it, install recovery, make a backup and start flashing Roms and Kernels.

Don't get me wrong. I understand there are benefits to rooting. But never have I seen a phone with less advantage of doing so. My x10 was loaded with garbage software that needed to have root access to remove. I shouldn't have too see boot animation often and am not a big believer in huge quadrant scores.
What exactly will zip align do for me?
(charged Battery to max)
fastboot oem unlock
Well, I left mine stock for like a few weeks. I then decided to root so that I could overclock it. Eventually I found myself flashing Cyanogenmod 7. I believe that half the fun of owning an android phone is flashing different ROMs.

I went right to the about screen in settings to my first android phone out the box with 2.3.4.. It took me three weeks to root the stock, flash a kernel and that reminds me I didn't create a back up smh. Okay time to power off and get to it.

unlock the bootloader, CWM, create a backup, then root the phone.
Smashed it against the wall.
I download all my apps and test how they work with the nexus s , then check all the apps working time like the camera apps, and I root a few weeks after (mainly for battery indicator )
I'll try cm7 and miui soon tho

Just got my phone today, and apparently the sticker on it that said updated meant that there is no local search due to... Lawsuits? Whatever.
I hate apple now.
Anyhow I've Googled it and can't find how to get this back.
Just articles talking about how it was removed.
Is there a way? Do I flash gapps from cwm recovery?

Does that apply to all phones they make now? I thought it was just the Nexus for a particular period. Now that you mention it though I just got mine today, same sticker and same results. This phone is so loaded and my first Android cell so I feel sorta lost and could be missing a setting.

I am not certain, but from the out of the box get go I was not able to bring any local apps up.
Not even settings, which was just asinine considering I am unfamiliar with touchwiz, and with ICS coming from GB... so I needed to find the settings and did not want to page through the apps.
None of that works, you can only search google on the internet, nothing else.
Same here, but I was wondering if it's a limitation of TouchWiz this is a crazy heavy skin. I'm coming from iPhone so I'm happily lost, I could have missed the setting.
Maybe someone can help me out, I'm running no sympathy VRALG1 however I pulled the googlequicksearchbox.apk(1.4.1.338691) from the nosymapthy VRALF2 , I can install it and my local search works great, until I reboot and then it doesn't work and the installed version of googlequicksearchbox.apk is back to version 1.4.1.396604. How do I stop it from upgrading or changing?

Hi. Same problem here. After installing JB update multitouch on my p5110 went crazy. It was most noticeable when trying to pinch zoom in maps or on web page. Multitouch tester clearly showed that there was a problem of some sort, and earlier with ics everything was smooth. I also tried factory reset, but it didn't help much.
Anyway, I downloaded SGS Touchscreen Booster app and it worked great. No need to root device. Just used 'Super optimized' preset and now responsiveness is much, much better. Still testing.
Interesting

Maps was removed from the phones custom romsbbecause of this issue I don't believe anyone has fixed it
Unfortunatly, you may need a different "maps" app from the store
And if you are rooted you should get /system/app an remove all un used applications saves space an runs a bit faster

If you go into Play Store and click Uninstall Update (or something like that) for Google Maps, sometimes that fixes it.
Hey guys, has anybody tried had sync? I always used it on my nexus devices, however, the last update for it is on October 6th, way before KitKat release date. I've read through some of the reviews and some have mentioned of it preventing phone from going to deep sleep and causing wake locks. That was on a galaxy phones though, no mention of issues on nexus 5. I have just got the nexus, don't really want to install something that's not fully compatible yet.

Working fine for me.. Just got my phone a couple hours ago, so can't really say much on the wake lock part. But, the contacts sync up and its fine so far..
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Why not try it for your self? If it causes problems just uninstall it. Plan and simple. Not like it can brick your phone because an app isn't 100% compatible.
Working fine for me too.

I did when I got my nexus. My battery died faster than expected. I looked through logs, and noticed that yahoo weather was draining a lot of battery on the background, ended up uninstalling that and haxsync because I figured that it could have been both as android usage was also high. Today, everything was fine. I will try to reinstall it.
I do seem to get some contact pics synced, I'm guessing by default Facebook app still doesn't sync contacts on stock, right? Pictures might be coming from Google +?

MersauX,
Can you please tell me where you found it? What link? When I search for the Haxsync APK, I find a lot of sites, but I am always a bit leery at downloading them from these types of places since I worry about the files authenticity. Thanks in advance.
