Has anyone ever had their PC Settings stop working from the right drag menu.
Basically the word PC Settings appears at the bottom, but when I click it the menu bar just disappears and nothing happens.
I've tried rebooting and it's still the same problem. I have run the jail break hack but turning this off doesn't help.
Any ideas?
Haven't seen that. Can you still access the desktop Control Panel? Can you access the Metro Control Panel via the Start menu?

It's an odd one. I can access the desktop control panel but if I try to do the metro one via metro or start menu - nothing happens.
What is the file it is trying to run and where is it located?

So basically I can't seem to use those at all. Very weird. I can't even do a refresh as it keeps telling me to go to PC Settings which is not accessible.
Any other way of running it?
As an update to this the only way I could find to fix it was to do a full recovery restore from a recovery usb image.
However, interestingly although I told it to do a complete wipe and format it still knew my settings and email account etc. So Microsoft must be doing some cloud based save of profiles as well.
Now to re jailbreak and see if I can reproduce it
Part of the point of the Microsoft account signup is to allow syncing of settings and (some) files automatically between computers. The other part, of course, is for the store.
You can control what settings get synced, but by default it includes a number of system and UI things, ranging from your wallpapers and lock screen to your Explorer folder options.
Recently updated to Android L. However the option for me to set my lock screen to none is no longer present. I had switched it to swipe to test out the new notification features and it was there at that time. It is now gone and I cant figure out how to return it short of wiping phone. Using an Nexus 5.
Any suggestions?

I managed to solve this. Under Andoid L if you access the guest account and switch back to your primary account the none option is disabled. To have it enabled, switch back into the guest account and select "Remove Guest" when looking under the profile switcher. This will end the session and activate the option.

With latest firmware (G930FXXU1APD1-G930FDBT1APC5-DBT) Im having problems when unlocking the device with fingerprint. It does not allow me, but instead I get:
“Enter pin instead of using fingerprint recognition because of security policy”
And I have to use the PIN.
This happens when locking the display with “lock wedged”. If the lock is made with button (power) ... or time out display. Then I can normally use the fingerprint.
Does someone also facing the problem?
Is there any solution – setting?

Yes i had this and tried to reset my fingerprints when i tried that settings error and closed, then i couldnt change anything, pin, fingerprints, couldnt even factory reset. Cause it always asked for my pin and after i entered it settings would error rebooting didnt help. Finally using android device manager from my pc i had to do an erase. My s7 is stock and it had nothing disable at the time this happen.

there might be extra Policy set on ur device.
go to setting > Security > click on Clear Credentials
+ also check what is ur device administrator

I had that even on my Nexus 6P when using Nova's double tap to lock feature. I think it's something to do with Marshmallow actually.

Clear credentials is not active.
Device Admin - APP is added.
So the error is still there.

You can try Samsung's Good Lock app from Galaxy Apps store or, if you live outside U.S., from apkmirror.com. It's a System UI update that allows fingerprint unlock with third party locking widgets.

This actually works. But ... then I get totally different lock screen display etc... that I actually don’t like.
So ... till now ... no real solution.

Is it possible to flash the phone back to previous ROM version via Odin… and you won’t get Knox void .. or something else??
I'm thinking to go back to previous ROM when lock and fingerprint worked OK.

I'm having the same issue and I must say it is very annoying. Can't really see any reason why this should interfere with the security. Should be my choice to be honest. Would be nice to have a solution to this. Looks like it's been an issue for a long time as well. Found some threads about the 6P for example with the same issue.

Yes but the problem still remains so it was a good initiative. I've got a brand new S7 and I find this very annoying. If I switch off my screen with Nova, I have to use fingerprint+PIN Code to unlock. If I switch it with physical buttons, I only have to use fingerprints..

Instal
Tap on create icon. Turn off the rest options
Fixed by installing a third party screen locker.

Your app is too many pop-up ads, so bad. I uninstall it quickly.

Try to remember if you have installed an application these last weeks. Maybe this cause the problem. Also if you're using Good Lock's lock star apk check your lock screen wallpaper setup or uninstall it.
i never have installed GoodLock.
No new applications installed, so never mind, i'll keep it so
i tried to reboot in "safe mode" and video appear. In normal mode not.

So meaning that an application causes this issue. In safe mode only the basic apps running if I'm not wrong.

Did you ever figure this out? It's doing it to me as well. I can't find an answer anywhere, I'm about to factory reset my phone.
When I first got it, it showed the wallpaper fine. After about a week I noticed it was only showing it very infrequently.
Static and "animation" wallpapers work, but not "video" wallpapers like those included with the phone or ones downloaded through the galaxy store.
That issue has disappeared after upgraded firmware and then restored my backup

I solved it on my phone.
It turns out that I had used an ADB command to push the gesture hints bar off the screen (Galaxy S20+).
Code:
./adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,-42
It's the easiest, best trick ever, because it gives you the full screen but also doesn't have the negative effect of using the option to hide it in the actual settings which causes you to need to swipe in an arch to change apps instead of just swiping left and right. I had to revert it by using the same command but changing the -42 back to a 0.
Update : I've finally managed to do it without need of installing "Setedit".
As I have repeatedly read of users being disappointed with the lack of PC Mode in ZUI 14, so I decided to look into this.
My application simply does this with no other manipulations than a simple click on the application.
The first time you will run it, this will ask you permission to modify settings but your device will go to the desktop mode before you have time to do it.
When you will be in desktop mode if you run again on the app. You will be asked again and have to allow permission to modify settings. For a strange reason that’s only really required, for going back to the classic mode.

If setedit is installed and if you have already run it once to change zui_pc_mode. Install my app, allow it to change system and you can turn PC mode on and off just by launching it.
I can confirm this works great. Typing this now from within Desktop mode!
Incase the app not working like mine I keep pressing but not working
You need to long press the then select app info then permissions then select modify system settings then click accept.The app will now work

Contrary to what I had first thought. The only really useful element in the source code of setedit, is as far as we are concerned: "targetSdkVersion 22" present in: build.gradle.
The shared key, present in the Sources of Setedit, pushed me to do the same. For this new version made available to you, I did not make this mistake, since nothing prevents you from compiling yours with your own key.
Hi, thank you for the PC mode APK. but somehow when I tried to go into the menu, all the icons are somehow overlays and it is not showing the full icons and it is making it hard for me to identify or click.
And problem is that my game used to be in portrait mode in PC mode but now it is not and the game somehow just grey screen upon starting the game.
Any idea why is it so? Thanks.

Which one is yours ?

Thanks for this app, it works well and has made me see for myself how pointless this mode is now.
Fwiw I also have the half icons on apps screen in productivity mode and it persisted after restart/font size tweaks..

I mostly use it in portrait mode for writing and manga reading so PC mode will be a rare but useful mode when I need it.

Mine is also TB-J716F ZUI 14.0.127. I didn’t make any changes to the font or icon size. Tried rebooting but still having the same issue
Are people able to get the video output working on the China rom? Mine hasn't worked since the beginning, thought this mode might get it working but alas no.
I have manage to resize manaully the window to portrait to able to run the game without issue. But is there any way that the system is bale to resize it automatically?
But I am still not able to resolve that overlapping icon in the menu. Tried to find way to resize the menu but somehow it doesn't let me resize.
Is there a function or setting that I can set to automatically resize all open window to let say half of the screen in portrait mode?
