WI-FI issue - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hi there, I have a problem.
Yesterday afternoon I updated my tablet P6200 Odin v1.85 to version 4.1.2 CSC: SER, and I found the problems regarding the wifi connection.
The tablet tries to connect to it by inserting the credentials I get "saved, protected" and does not connect to the network.
I tried to change WEP WPA WPA2 none, no solution.
I tried to restart / reset the router to its initial settings without solution.
I tried to assign a static address, no solution.
I've tried changing the transmission channel of the router (eg 2, 3, 6, 8), no solution.
I tried to use the application WiFix manager, no solution.
I do not know what to do.
- P6200XXMF1_P6200OXEMF2_P6200XXMC3_HOME.tar.md5 is the firmware version 4.1.2 Russia
- DSL-G624T is the code for the D-link router.
The problem may be that the CSC does not match?! (Russia vs Italy -> SER vs ITV)
Any Idea?

I did open a similar thread like 15 days ago, but the device was a GT-P6210.
Try testing a different brand of Wifi Router, like a Linksys, Cisco or any other except D-Link. I was able to connect my device on Linksys routers without problems
There is a known issue with Samsung JB and DLINK routers, that did happen on S3 and S4, but it seems that the good ol' GTP will share the same fate

Not really, let's wait for US version ofthe rom in order to check if there is a fix with the Wi-Fi issue.
You can also try upgrading your router firmware to its latest version and try it again.

Fuze and home Wi-Fi

I'm having a technical problem with my home Wi-Fi router, and my Fuze. I just recently set up a wireless network at home, and have my PC connected to the router through Wi-Fi. Whenever I attempt to connect my Fuze to the router, the Fuze hijacks the connection, and disconnects my PC from the network. I have tried to contact the tech support for the router, but nothing they suggest seems to work. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I am missing in the router configuration? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i've used my fuze on multiple routers and it doesnt do this. Get a new router
If you give static ip on both pc and ppc check if you gave the same ip. If not, check the dhcp range on your router.

First thing I would try is updating the firmware, and doing a factory restore.
If that doesn't work, try changing the router to force 54g connections only. It's possible, but unlikely, that the Draft-N spec used by the router doesn't play nicely with the WLAN chipset in the Touch Pro.

agreed, i would try this first. makes sense that if they both have the same ip that that is the cause of your problem. if you're set to assign dynamic ip's on connecting to the router, then i'd try upgrading the firmware. good thing to check first
Still having problems with this issue. Tried everything suggested so far.
Make sure the IP's are not conflicting and the dhcp range is at least 10 addresses.
It could also be a neighbor screwing around, make sure you encrypt your wifi with wpa or wpa2 or anyone in range can use your wifi.
When I first read your problem I thought it was an IP conflict with both devices like some others have said....but if you've checked everything and tried all possible solutions posted in this thread I think it might be pretty safe to assume that you need a new router. If its new, just bring it back and exchange it for a different one.
I'm using a D-Link DIR-655P and have connection types (B, G, N) on auto, dynamic IP address assignment set, and I have the latest firmware installed and I have no issues whatsoever...I have a quick lock and fast speeds.
I've got a few questions, because to me this sounds like a possible issue with your network adapter on your PC, rather than a DHCP "hijack" issue.
What is the ip on your PC after it gets "hijacked"?
Do you use sleep/hibernate modes on your PC?
Have you turned off Windows Firewall or any other security/virus/malware software on the PC?
This router is new, did this setup work with a previous router?
What security protocol are you using for wireless connections, WEP, WPA, WPA2, or none?
-----------------
Hope you can figure it out, that's gotta be a real PITA.
Got it fixed. Did some more research, and found that the firmware updates do not work with Firefox, so I used IE to do the update, and it works fine. For anyone else that uses or is planning to use this router, check the firmware. The firmware version that mine came with (1.0.4 build 10) does not work with multiple versions of Windows (ie: cannot have a computer with Win XP and another with Win Vista connected at the same time). Thanks for the help.
Ahhh...well there you go. Glad its fixed.

Wifi Fix (pro'ly all devices)

putting this up for those on cm7 (especially 2.3.5 and above) or on stock rom and are having problems with wifi connectivity. case in point is upon first boot after a clean install, device can connect to wifi w/ apparently no problems. on subsequent wifi wake, however, it's either wifi is:
stuck in scanning
connects then disconnects or
all network/s are not in range
...even though other devices such as laptops or iWhatever have no problems connecting & browsing.
you may also need to set the regulatory domain on your device (settings-->wireless & networks-->wifi settings-->menu-->advanced) depending on your region (ch.11 works for me here in the philippines). this should match (or be higher than) the one you'll set on your router, as attached.
got this to work on three legends (one on a dlink router and the rest on different models of linksys) and on a dhd(?), router unknown. this is not THE end-all/ultimate solution, however. consider it as a first step in troubleshooting. HTH

Hello everybody! My HTC Legend is not rooted. Yesterday i bought new router D-Link DIR 615. Everything is ok: my laptop founds the WiFi, my girlfriend cellphone (Nokia 5230) founds the WiFi and it works awesome for them, BUT my HTC Legend don't see the WiFi at all. I disableb the WiFi Protected Setup but still nothing. Made the Beacon period to 30 but still nothing. I config the router without any type of security but still no detecting the WiFi. The 802.11 mode is mixed, Auto Channel is on too and still nothing. Please any opinions?! Thank you in advance!
P.S. I am sorry for my bad english!

WiFi problem with finding access point

Hi,
I'm a new owner of TF700
I've turned it up and have to say that I was impressed.
Right after that I encountered a problem with WiFi not finding my router (WRT54GL). The router's WiFi works (it is normally found by my PC, HTC One S, iPhone on daily basis). The TF700 finds tons of WiFis in the building except mine.
I also tried to manually add the WiFi and I just get-not in range. I tested if the WiFi works with creating a hotspot on my HTC One S and it worked.
Did anyone encountered such a problem/has a solution?
Thank you!
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app
Hi,
I got the same problem after updating my TF700 to version V10.4.4.20
Is anybody has it resolved?
SSID gone on my Transformer
I have the same problem. Before Cyanogen mod 10 on my Transformer 101, my Netgear VVG2000 WPA2/PSK encrypted wifi ap worked fine, but after mod installation I can't se my SSID. It works fine on my SG2 and I can connect and see other wifi networks. Can it be because the MAC address has changed and the router blocks it or...? I also tried to change encryption mode to no avail. It has happened once before with a laptop and a never NIC software fixed it.

What channel is the router using? If you are in the US and it is 12+ you may have and issue with it.

[Q] No 5ghz 802.11n after Jelly Bean update?

more information found... see additional notes later in this thread.
---
Hi folks,
Just updated my P6210 to Jelly Bean (KIES_HOME_P6210XXMD3_P6210OXAMD3) and now it won't see any 5ghz wifi. Connects just fine to 2.4ghz. ICS had no problems seeing that there were 5ghz networks and connecting to them.
I've done a lot of searching and it looks like this issue has come up on other devices as well. People have recommended everything from doing a factory reset and suggesting it will start working again. I've also seen folks say this happens if you don't clear cache and factory reset before updating the firmware. Nothing has worked for me.
I've gone back and reloaded ICS and 5ghz immediately works again just fine, so the issue is obviously something to do with the Jelly Bean update or somewhere in how the update is loaded. I've just cleared cache/factory reset/updated to jelly bean again, and the 5ghz networks are gone again.
Apologies if a clear explanation is out there already; I haven't been able to find it.
Is anybody able to help me understand exactly what is going on and if it is possible to get the 5ghz wifi working under Jelly Bean on the P6210 without rooting the device?
Thanks very much for any help,
rjb

What country are you in? The current update is a UK ROM, if you are in the US, it may not see all the wifi channels properly.

I am in the US and the device has been configured for US for language, etc... Wouldn't they all need to have visibility to all frequencies for when folks travel with their devices or is it generally accepted that WiFi may not work as expected when you travel abroad? I don't travel much so I have no experience with that.
Thanks very much for the response. I really have no idea if that might impact WiFi access.
When I initially updated from Honey Comb to ICS, it was a European firmware that was available first. I had no problems reaching 5ghz wifi with that firmware. I did eventually update again when the US firmware came out, however it was just because it was available and not to address any deficiencies.
So far... here's what I've used:
Honey Comb - Factory Installed - 5ghz & 2.4ghz worked
ICS - United Kingdom / Ireland - P6210XXLPN/P6210OXALPN - 5ghz & 2.4ghz worked
ICS - Cellular south - P6210UELPC/P6210XARLPC - 5ghz & 2.4ghz worked
Jelly Bean - United Kingdom / Ireland - P6210XXMD3/P6210OXAMD3 - 2.4ghz works but no 5ghz
ICS - Cellular south - P6210UELPC/P6210XARLPC - 5ghz & 2.4ghz worked again (downgraded)
Jelly Bean - United Kingdom / Ireland - P6210XXMD3/P6210OXAMD3 - 2.4ghz works but no 5ghz (even after clear cache/factory reset, etc.)
again... appreciate the thoughts.

more info: "WiFi 5ghz Auto (DFS) channel setting not compatible after upgrade to JB?
Update:
I poked around more and found
"Issue 37482:Galaxy Tablet ICS 4.0.4 Update Disables 5GHz Wifi"
regarding the same issue but with ICS 4.0.4 on a what is only identified as a "Samsung Galaxy tablet"
There was a response noting a similar experience and suggesting that the OP change their 5ghz channel setting on their router from auto to 36 as this resolved the issue for the responding poster.
Well... it also worked for me.
So the issue now is redefined to:
"WiFi 5ghz Auto (DFS) channel setting not compatible after upgrade to Jelly Bean???"
The issue poster had this happen when they updated to 4.0.4 (albeit we have no idea what device they were using) while 4.0.4 worked fine for me. I run into the same issue when I update to 4.1.2.
Anybody have any idea what is going on here? Does anybody have one of these working with 5gh Auto (DFS)? Any guesses what would change between the 4.0.4 firmware and the 4.1.2 firmware for this device that would require a change to the wifi settings on the router?
Samsung Model GT-P6210MA w/ Jelly Bean 4.1.2
Cisco (Linksys) WRT610N w/ firmware 2.00.01
Router Config #1
5ghz Wireless Settings that don't work (P6210 doesn't even see the 5ghz network when scanning)
Network Mode: Mixed
Channel Width: Auto(20MHz or 40MHz)
Wide Channel: Auto (DFS)
Standard Channel: Auto (DFS)
SSID Broadcast: Enabled
Router Config #2
5ghz Wireless Settings that do work (P6210 sees the 5ghz network and connects just fine)
Network Mode: Mixed
Channel Width: 40MHz only (can't be auto if you want to select the wide channel)
Wide Channel: 38 (maybe others would work, too... haven't tested.)
Standard Channel: 36-5.180GHz (can't be left at auto once other parameters are changed)
SSID Broadcast: Enabled
I'd be interested in any explanation why this is happening. Thanks very much for any help.

It's not a router , or even software issue, its probably a parameter in the Android system/build.prop file that is hardcoded to GB or UK, since this is a UK release.. This would tell the drivers to use UK wifi channels instead of your chosen local. and NO the channels are not the same in the US as in GB/UK, some are the same and some are not the UK has several channels that are not used by US routers , not permitted by the FCC and vice versa..., That's why forcing your router to channel 36 or 1 might work while auto might not work or randomly might work depending on what channel your router finds is clear..
Remember these first single country releases by Samsung are done as really a test or beta. It helps find problems which will be fixed in the broader releases.

No problem, If i were near a 5ghz router right now, I'd check it out and find the problem, but Im not.
I haven't experienced a problem yet running JB on the 6210 connected to the 5 GHz AP on my router.
Linksys E3000 running Tomato USB FW (Tomato Firmware v1.28.9054 MIPSR2-beta E3000 USB Ex)
2.4 GHz AP:
MAC Address 98:FC:11:7C:69:27
Wireless Mode Access Point
Wireless Network Mode Auto
Radio Enabled
SSID bwifinet
Security WPA2 Personal (PSK) + AES
Channel 11 - 2.462 GHz
Channel Width 20 MHz
Interference Level Acceptable
Rate 72 Mbps
5 GHz AP:
MAC Address 98:FC:11:7C:69:28
Wireless Mode Access Point
Wireless Network Mode N Only
Radio Enabled
SSID bwifinet5G
Security WPA2 Personal (PSK) + AES
Channel 64 - 5.320 GHz
Channel Width 40 MHz
Interference Level Acceptable
Rate 108 Mbps
You could try installing and playing around with the Wifi Analyzer app on your tablet to see what channels are best, available, etc.

Like I said, if its a hard coded parameter in one of the build files, like build.prop... it will tell the drivers to use a UK configuration in which case they will not even see some US channels. It won't matter what you set your locale in settings to... For example US uses 802.11G channels 1-11 only whereas other parts of the world use additional channels up to 14. Same applies to 5ghz, so it could randomly work or not work depending on what channel your Wifi router happened to working on. And if you Wifi AP is doing auto channels, it could work today and not tomorrow.

[SOLVED] Wifi 5Ghz connectivity

Hi all,
I received the device and have problems to connect to my (non-hidden) 5Ghz wifi. I remember that there was an issue for Pie to connect to hidden SSIDs so I enabled the broadcast, but still cannot connect. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks!

Thanks for looking this up. I finally ended up setting up my router from scratch after the bad support from TP-Link destroyed my login after the firmware update and the subsequent restore of the settings backup. After adding all stuff (incl. MAC-filtering), everything works now also with 5 GHz.
