all people use it(or allmost all), many roms have it preinstalled, if you are not sure, download a rom that allready has it

my android version is 2.3.3 GingerBread
kernel version: 2.6.35.10-perf [email protected]#1
my phone was running on 2.2 froyo when i bought it. later then i updated it to 2.3.3 (official firmware update by lg)
i want to to flash a new kernel and rom for maximum performance. i want to play HD games without much lags. so which combination of custom rom and kernel i should use?
andy's Phoenix ROM ( Gingerbread-2.3.4 , released on 2011-10-20) with
franco.Kernel for Gingerbread ( 2.6.35.14) works with mine?
or there is any better combination?
First of all, you will need old baseband or else data and GSM will not work.
Read this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149530
That combination is the best in my opinion, but you should wait for the new phoenix as the current one has a lot of bugs.
okay. so i have new baseband now. will the above mentioned combination works after i downgrade to 2.2?

my question is that, i found some roms listed under 2.3.3
will those roms works with mine without downgrading my android version to 2.2?

You don't have to downgrade android, you just have to flash old baseband (also known as radio) see the link I provided in my first post.
Secondly, yes some ROM's are based off the official 2.3.3 and need the new baseband. In that case you don't need to flash old baseband.
when it comes to kernel i saw franco.Kernel under both .32 and .35 kernels. actually i don't know what this .32 and .35 means which franco kernel i should use??
Go for cm7.2 by adfad666 and do flash gbsv20 kernel over it for best perfomance... but you need old baseband for that, be careful while flashing the old baseband as mentioned above, else your phone might be dead if u'll not follow all instuctions.
HIT THANKS if I helped you

You will need to change baseband to the old one as Phoenix is not based on LG's official gingerbread.
so the phoenix 2.3.4 is not based on lg's v20 baseband (i mean the new baseband)? i saw openOptimus under 2.3.3 ROMs. can i install this ROM without changing the current new baseband?

Yup. It will work without changing to the old baseband.
thanks a lot. finally i decided to go with openoptimus ROM and franco.Kernel .35
i have heard lg optimus one has touch screen bug problem. will it fix with this upgrade?
also i want to play HD games without much lags. is it possible by using this combination of ROM and Kernel and overclocking the cpu?

Well, there are workarounds. First of all it's impossible to completely fix the touchscreen bug. Franco is trying to reduce it to some extend. Yes, you can play HD games without lags with the latest kernel from Franco but it gives choppy UI.
So I suggest to use the older Franco kernel for now which gives smooth UI, but HD games will lag a little.
Overall, your phone will be much smoother and have much better performance than stock.
Thank you very much negi for your help.

Hey, as I recommended, as of now use the old Franco kernel.
Here: http://www.multiupload.com/2HD02KTOSX
It will lag a little when gaming but will have smooth UI.
I installed IcySnap V1.5 on my LG P500 which comes with kernel 2.6.35.10-perf + CM9 and overclocked to 729mhz. I really liked the rom, but I was wondering if there is another rom + kernel better that focus on performance and little bit of visual.I'm experiencing lag in some games like Zenonia 5
And if i keep this rom, there is a better kernel to improve the performance ?
*sorry for possible gramm mistakes, english is not my mother language*

Try Miui v 1.2 and pp kernel 1.7
The Official OTA ICS?
Or something else?
Could you give an advice?
i am using aosp v3 and its runing smooth as silk
at the moment you can safely go with stockrom. Add a custom kernel if you like.
Everyone has his own preference on custom-roms and will tell you "this is the best", but so far they don't differ that much from stock. It's more about the name and the occasional theme mod. Kernel is more important.
If you do a manual update, go for a full install including full wipe. Gave me better performance than the incremental update from gb.
I am running on Codename Android (Previously called AOSP+)

Which rom is the best? Thaiz?:good:
For me,only the stock was good.
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda app-developers app
I pretty sure that the kernel is handling the battery so best battery life I had while using:
1. The Promethius Kernel Version 1.4+ (the + is for v21e baseband)
2. ThiaiZ V0.6 Kernel
I must also note that the performance with both of the kernels is amazing. Very recommended.

i am goin for rooting and custom rom with kernal falshing .
what do u recomend for overall performence rom with least bugs...?
performance matters me first i can manage battery problm
First, if you already haven't, install v21e baseband or kdz (kdz is easier to install imo) because the kernels mentioned above work only with that baseband.
I recommend the same roms as the kernels, try both and find out witch suits you the best (they are both stable as they are LG based roms)

Best is the 21E stock ROM and the custom ROMs that are based on that.
My vote is for Thaiz 2.8 (currently), I use setcpu to clock down during screen off also to save more power.
Hello have any one Tried Supercharger V6 on PACman rom by bernie yet and does it make any changes?
Should work ok I tested it on ParanoidAndroid and works fine so see no problem with berni's PACMan ROM
did it make any changes for you? (is worth to install?)
Feels a wee bit snappier and Antutu benchmark increased 200-300
i know how good my phone went after i installed it in GB so i am gonna make a CWM backupp and install Supercharger V6
I am curious what ROM you guys are using, I'm currently using Advanced 8 Port V2 but I can notice some lagging in some of the apps and games using Daishi's Afterburner Kernel v17.11.03.4. I would like to hear your suggestions on what can be stated as the most stable Nougat ROM or hell you can even suggest a Marshmallow ROM that would be the most stable for daily usage. Thanks!

Been using On8 V3 with Hyperion rom kernel.
No problems faced till now. It has best ever battery life among all 7.0 ROMs.
Before On8 V3, was using ExOS 2.5.
That Rom too had not a single problems or bugs.
Loved both ROMs. Both had similar battery life and screen on time.. you better try both until Stable 7.1.1 ROMs shows up in XDA

Also disable unnecessary system apps with link2sd app to get most out of ram memory. I did it and now have nearly 360 mb or more memory always.
Synexos lite v.1.1 ?
I'm using Advanced 8 Port V2 with stock kernel
Thanks for all the answers, I migrated to On8 and I can already see some FPS Improvements in games and overall system usage. Drop more feedback down below for other members in the forum to see what's best for them.

On5 prime
On8 v.1 up till now
Not moved to v.3 yet cause v.1 is already feed my need, smooth and fast.
Just random shut down when battery is almost drained up when the device is overheating.
Just need to add AllBlack theme overlay maybe to bring out the Amoled screen potential to max.
