does not make it very heavy?

I've always been curious about these. I love the idea, 2x battery power = Cool but there are a few things I've wondered about.
After market batteries generally just don't have the quality components or quality control that the official ones do and generally don't last as long so my question is:
Does it really have 2x the battery life of the stock Motorola battery or is it more like 1.5? If it's the latter, is it really worth the extra few hours?
Cheers!

No after first charge it is fine in phone..... I love it... I was gonna buy a s4 and this kept me in my a2

Here is what I have got so far today.
I love it.... Charging time is increased but the batteries perform great... Just remember that it is only double not infinite screen time.

Very well.... But do you get over 36 hrs and over 8hrs screen time on one charge... That is what I average caddie with me flashing all the time I never let rooms stabilize with the extended battery... I will throw myself on stock is and do a true comparison of I it if I get a chance next week then you will see why 4000 is great... I am a heavy screen time person so I get 8hrs screen time per charge of battery quick is what I wanted.

Otterbein defender has built in screen guard.... It is gonna take a few days to get the batteries to be configured... Remember to let them charge for. A. Day or. 2 on the external charger. Then run them down. You battery Metter will read 0 but you will still have hours of operation after that. Just keep. Pushing the batteries past 0 till u have the real zero. And then you will have the system Calibration done to the batteries. It takes a little while and I am starting all over again because of running w/o them for the last couple weeks. U will love them.

Anker 2x 1800mAh

This is a great deal on Amazon, two 1800 mAh batteries plus a charger for 20 bucks right now. I recommend it.
I just bought these a few days ago and got to use them yesterday. I was amazed... 300 mAh more than my year-old stock battery and it lasted forever. On my normal battery I get maybe 9 or 10 hours of light usage, data off all day unless I'm using it for tapatalk, etc. and then the phone dies. On this new one I got it up to 14 hours and it was down to 40%.. only put it on the charger because I had to sleep.
And that was 14 hours of medium to heavy usage... I had two batteries with me so I really wanted to stress them and see how long they would last. I left data and sync on all day, streamed music for about an hour with google music, used google talk to chat with friends, played fruit ninja, watched youtube videos, downloaded Big Gigantic's new album over 3G... etc and still the battery lasted way longer than my stock one. I didn't even have to worry about needing to switch batteries which was what I bought them for, I didn't expect this great of a result from it.
All in all, I recommend these if anyone is looking at buying extended batteries. It's a great price right now, the things charge in the phone and come with a wall charger with USB ports and a battery charger that can charge whichever one your phone isn't. I've never been more happy with the battery life on my phone, I don't think you could go wrong with these.
good work>>>>>>

Iirc its the kernel that determines the 3rd party battery support and not the from. Try KGB or geewiz kernels for tw. I got a guide in general section that has all this information.

+1 on the kernel from what i've heard. I was about to pull the trigger on one of the epic touch batteries on amazon litterally when i read this post. For the same price you can't beat these. Battery life has been a much welcomed improvement, and being able to just swap a fresh one from the charger and keep going really cant be beat. Thanks for the find bud.

well I hardly use my extra battery, I usually just use the one because I don't need a second. so I charge the extra one and keep it in my pocket, and when I need it it is almost dead. I don't know if it's not charging, or if it's just discharging somehow while being in my pocket for a couple of days.
Sent from my ICS SCH-i500
It could be discharging. I have noticed if I take a battery off the charger for a couple of hours and then pop it back on it will begin to charge again. It seems odd that it would lose so much charge after only a few days but who knows. I always alternate back and fourth so that the batteries wear evenly. I would try that for a few days and see if it helps. If not call Amazon or banker and see if you can get a replacement. On a side note how the hell are you getting days of life? I get maybe a day of medium heavy usage. Also I'm in a 90 to 100dbm environment pretty much all day though.
Sent from my SCH-I500 running Kang's CM-7 with Glitch 13.1
I'll try the suggestions, thanks.
With my usage, it just depends on what I do.. on a regular day I have wifi most of the day and stream google music and check xda and Craigslist, and SMS... besides the constant streaming it's average usage. I keep my screen dim because I'm usually inside. That gets me about 16 hours.
Today in addition to those things, I used GPS Navigation and my phone to make calls to get directions and navigate to a car to look at, I played with flashing a couple of mods, and I wrote a google doc going back and forth between docs and browser to finish up my homework on the way. plus I've been outside today so my screen has been on around half brightness so I can use it. I am at about ten hours now and I have 20% battery.

I'm happy with it, I finally feel like I can do whatever I want as much as I want all day and not have to feel like I need to charge as often as possible. Again I'm very pleased with it so far.

Hey all,

I posted some pictures here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25310131&postcount=6 that show the difference in phone width with and without, bare battery width difference and the color difference between back plates on the white model.
I got my qcell battery about three days ago and so for its lasting pretty well. Im on my third day of using it(charged the battery at night) and its steadily been improving. Right now I'm at 68% right now at 9PM and it has lasted over 14 hours with brightness on low, listening to music all day, texting sporadically, playing an online game for over an hour, some youtube videos, and syncing 2emails and engaget. Screen was on for over 2 hours. I only have one bad thing to say which is it sometimes gets really hot and I have to shutdown phone to cool it down, maybe its my cf or something like that.

Re: Zala 3800mAh Battery + Cover
I'm still in the process of testing it and documenting it. So far I get over 16 hours with more than 30% still remaining. You can easily get 24 with about 4 hours of screen time. You can even push it to 5 if you watch a movie. But I think spending that much time on your phone is unnecessary.

Re: Zala 3800mAh Battery + Cover
The first 2 pictures show the device always on WiFi. I easily got a day and a half with way over 7 hours of screen time. The next 2 pictures show the device with about 8 hours on 3g and a 2 hour phone call. This made the battery last only 18 hours but I still consider this a full day. Great battery, buy it if you don't think the stock one is good enough for you!

No, I use nothing at all. Just best use practices and common sense. One more thing I might mention. After doing the overnight charge routine I always shut my phone completely down and let it sit for a minute or two before starting it back up. If you use CPU Spy to check deep sleep cycles you will see why. If I do not shut down as mentioned my phone will still go into deep sleep but not as consistently, nor for as long, as it does when I do the shut down and restart after charging. Also, when powering on, if you have to wait for more than 3 or 4 seconds holding the power button before feeling the device vibrate, pull the battery for 30 seconds, put it back in a try again. Deep sleep is never consistent for me when I have to hold the button down for 8-10 seconds before I feel the vibration signaling the startup sequence.

Do you even lift bro? I can spend 2 hours in the gym easily. On a more serious note this is about the battery not about working out.

That's way too long for one session. Some research would explain why. Yes, I lift bro.

NFC laza
It was not commented on so I figure I would add my two cents in:
The Laza battery has a NFC coil in the back of the battery, just like the stock one. Some of the cheap extended batteries leave this feature out.
After testing the Stock Battery NFC coil vs the Laza Battery NFC coil I can confidently say:
There is no difference in pick up distance or read/write speed on a Type A (ISO/IEC 14443 type A) Mifare 1k chip ( same thing as a Samsung Tec-tile)
Yes and No
When I ordered my battery they were out of stock of the NFC batteries. So instead of waiting a month for them to ship the NFC battery I asked them to ship me a non-NFC battery. So sadly I don't have NFC capabilities =(.

[Q] I need a new battery

hey there...
I think my battery is damaged. it's inflated and with paying HD game it last less than 2 hours. while when I bought my phone I could play 4-5 hours of HD games.
now, since where I live, there are lots of useless Chinese fake batteries, I want to know which one battery is good and how can I make sure that it's orginal.
thanks.
Order straight off samsungs website. If you want you can register your phone on the Samsung website and get emailed a 50% off up to 50$ discount so the battery and wall charger will be 25$

+1 to that! But you may also want to consider buying a cheap spare to carry with you in case you run out of juice sooner than you can get to a charger.
Also, be careful not to buy batteries that are manufactured more than a year ago. It is a known limitation of Lithium-Ion/Polimer based batteries (used in most phones/tablets these days) that their capacity diminishes over time. Even if they are not used, in a year or so they start to "go bad" and are almost completely crap after 2 years. You'll get maybe 70% of the rated capacity, and they won't hold the charge well at all. It's not a defect, just a downside of the technology. You can mitigate this by storing them at 40% charge in a cool place, but how many stores are actually going to do that?
People speak very well of batteries ZeroLemon
