This is a great deal on Amazon, two 1800 mAh batteries plus a charger for 20 bucks right now. I recommend it.
I just bought these a few days ago and got to use them yesterday. I was amazed... 300 mAh more than my year-old stock battery and it lasted forever. On my normal battery I get maybe 9 or 10 hours of light usage, data off all day unless I'm using it for tapatalk, etc. and then the phone dies. On this new one I got it up to 14 hours and it was down to 40%.. only put it on the charger because I had to sleep.
And that was 14 hours of medium to heavy usage... I had two batteries with me so I really wanted to stress them and see how long they would last. I left data and sync on all day, streamed music for about an hour with google music, used google talk to chat with friends, played fruit ninja, watched youtube videos, downloaded Big Gigantic's new album over 3G... etc and still the battery lasted way longer than my stock one. I didn't even have to worry about needing to switch batteries which was what I bought them for, I didn't expect this great of a result from it.
All in all, I recommend these if anyone is looking at buying extended batteries. It's a great price right now, the things charge in the phone and come with a wall charger with USB ports and a battery charger that can charge whichever one your phone isn't. I've never been more happy with the battery life on my phone, I don't think you could go wrong with these.

hm... I have not tried it on anything except custom roms. I've heard that some roms don't support different types of batteries. maybe try flashing her to cm7, miui, something like that.

Iirc its the kernel that determines the 3rd party battery support and not the from. Try KGB or geewiz kernels for tw. I got a guide in general section that has all this information.

+1 on the kernel from what i've heard. I was about to pull the trigger on one of the epic touch batteries on amazon litterally when i read this post. For the same price you can't beat these. Battery life has been a much welcomed improvement, and being able to just swap a fresh one from the charger and keep going really cant be beat. Thanks for the find bud.

well I hardly use my extra battery, I usually just use the one because I don't need a second. so I charge the extra one and keep it in my pocket, and when I need it it is almost dead. I don't know if it's not charging, or if it's just discharging somehow while being in my pocket for a couple of days.
Sent from my ICS SCH-i500
It could be discharging. I have noticed if I take a battery off the charger for a couple of hours and then pop it back on it will begin to charge again. It seems odd that it would lose so much charge after only a few days but who knows. I always alternate back and fourth so that the batteries wear evenly. I would try that for a few days and see if it helps. If not call Amazon or banker and see if you can get a replacement. On a side note how the hell are you getting days of life? I get maybe a day of medium heavy usage. Also I'm in a 90 to 100dbm environment pretty much all day though.
Sent from my SCH-I500 running Kang's CM-7 with Glitch 13.1
I'll try the suggestions, thanks.
With my usage, it just depends on what I do.. on a regular day I have wifi most of the day and stream google music and check xda and Craigslist, and SMS... besides the constant streaming it's average usage. I keep my screen dim because I'm usually inside. That gets me about 16 hours.
Today in addition to those things, I used GPS Navigation and my phone to make calls to get directions and navigate to a car to look at, I played with flashing a couple of mods, and I wrote a google doc going back and forth between docs and browser to finish up my homework on the way. plus I've been outside today so my screen has been on around half brightness so I can use it. I am at about ten hours now and I have 20% battery.

I can't seem to think that batteries are at fault. I think it is just the wonky stock kernel. Have you guys tried CM7 and its default kernel?

Shouldnt be a problem. I went ahead and ordered a new battery this morning for the hell of it. Dude told me I didnt have to send the old one back or anything.
I called up for a new battery because mine is going nuts. Sitting idle with everything shut off and lost 25% in 1 hour and half. I told t-mobile that and complained that I was a loyal customer. They're sending me a new battery and letting me keep this one.
Anyone know where I can get a external charger than can charge this battery that comes with the phone? i'd buy one considering i can use both
The chargers that come with the knock off ebay batteries would prolly work.
I bought mine on ebay, just search for g2x charger...you can find two batteries and a charger for around $12.00 and they work great for me.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
I have one of those chargers with those 2 batteries.
I'm a bit worried about using those 2 batteries though.... afraid to ruin my phone or I don't really want to get 4 hours use of those batteries. But the charger should definitely work then regp? Wouldn't damage my battery would it?
I cant promise it wont ruin your battery but my logic says if the battery is a clone of the original they should work in the same charger.. Check the voltage output on the battery and the charger just to make sure. I used the knock off charger for my real vibrant battery as well as the fake batteries and never had a problem.
Okay, so if the knock off charger has the same voltage and stuff, I can use it? Sounds good I guess!
I use and charge with the external charger the two knockoffs and the OEM batteries and they all work fine...
when charging batteries on the phone the knockoffs seem to run cooler...with the lg battery the phone gets hot, freezes and reboots while charging...but when charging the phone with the knockoffs it has never rebooted or frozen yet...
Edit: just jinx myself! G2x froze just now while charging with knockoff battery also...

If you don't explicitly sign out of chat in Facebook it will keep your phone awake. Otherwise it shouldn't hurt your battery

Still waiting for my exchange battery to arrive. The more I read the forums I have hope that's what is the cause. People are getting freezes even with cm7 which is a separate kernel. It would explain why for some people swapping out the phone worked because they got a different battery too. Lets hope I get a better battery.

Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Hard to search from tapatalk, but I posted my experience on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182278
I'm in the process of RMA'ing one of them. The other is good. Seller has been responsive so far.
EDIT: Seller sent the replacement battery quickly and for free. As with the original battery, turned out it was a non-issue. So, all Anker batteries that I received work well. All batteries have 2011-09 timestamps - fresh.
Can this battery be charged in the phone or does it have to be on an external charger?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
it's not that great. their 1500 is better some how.
it does charge in the phone btw, but it take a long time to charge.
The Ankers worked great for me. I got two plus a charger and now they are all I used. I used to carry two spare stock batteries around just in case. Now these two are it. I'd take two of these over three stock batteries any day, even though I know the math does not add up.
They do charge in the phone, but if I actually have to use the spare, then when I get home I charge one in the charger at the same time the phone charges the other. The phone charges faster than the charger, but maybe slower than it charges the stock battery.
I don't have a good way to test how much charge a battery holds though. Is there an app that tracks battery usage so I'd be able to tell how much more charge one battery has than another?
I bought the Anker 1800mAh batteries and charger for $17 on ebay (maybe cheaper, I don't remember). My wife uses it in her Epic and it easily lasts all day long, no issues. I find it to last almost as long as my stock 1800mAh battery does in my Epic Touch.
No issues with either one, recharging time isn't an issue since it'll last all day and it'll recharge overnight while we're sleeping... Plus that leaves us an 1800mAh and the stock 1500mAh batteries as spares...

I got them from amazon, 2 for $20 with the free charger. I've bought other batteries before but now can't imagine why anyone with an epic wouldn't get these.

I'm pretty happy with, Battery Monitor Widget
Ordered from Amazon
I just ordered the 2x1800 mah Anker batteries plus an external charger for about 27 bucks from Amazon. Can't wait to get them and try them out. I think I might've burned through my stock battery a bit faster than usual because it doesn't seem to hold a charge as well as it did, and I was always flashing ROMs and having to re-calibrate the battery every time.
Curiously enough, the stock battery issue seemed to be more pronounced when I went to EI22 and flashed the ACS ICS "F*** it, we'll do it live" v5.5 ROM
hmm....could be just in my head, though. It's a great ROM.
I just got the 2 Anker 1800mAh batteries with the external charger for $20 plus tax (still under $22 with free 2 day shipping using Amazon Prime).
This was a GREAT deal so far, and it's nice to have 2 spare batteries (one extra 1800 and the stock 1500 I've been using for the past year).
This is a bargain and I recommend anyone who has even thought for a sec about getting a spare battery to pick up this deal.
http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Batteri...GXR6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323157418&sr=8-1
The only downside I can see so far is that the battery is SLIGHTLY heavier, so the phone feels a little heavier than with the stock battery. I guess it's just physics.
Makes the phone feel more solid.
I had a 100% charge at noon today and so far with pretty heavy use, 12 hours later, I'm at about 44% which isn't bad. In the past I've had to charge in the middle of the day to avoid phone going dead at night.
Wow!! Anker-licious!
So I finally got my (w)Anker batteries in the mail and charged one up. I installed it, immediately booted to ACS Recovery 5 and wiped battery stats, rebooted, and I've been running the phone uninterrupted ever since. This was very early this morning.
So far so good!! Ten + hours and only at 76% after mostly idling, with some moderate Facebooking, Youtubing, and Bluetooth audio streaming thrown in.
Battery fits perfectly in my Epic and zero issues so far.
I wonder how it will behave after the break-in period of 4 to 5 cycles.
I use the anker 1800 in my wife's epic. It consistently gets 3+ hours over the stock. Well worth the $12 and a real upgrade for us as the stock battery would always give up around the 11hr mark and the same use she gets 14+ hrs w the 1800. Around 3 hour screen on time maybe.
Although in my nexus the anker 1600 seems worse than my stock battery. Worth a try but not an upgrade in a nexus.

Sorry bout that last "post" I was taking the back off my phone lol. Anyway, here's a question:
My wife got the Touch not too long ago. Before, she had what I'm using now, the Epic 4g. When she had the 4g, she was getting such crappy battery life that she bought an xtra one. When I adopted the Epic, she didn't want to give up the battery. (Don't ask me why, she's crazy) But she has been holding onto battery, afraid to put it into her SG2. From reading the posts in here, I'm assuming that she can use her xtra battery (1500mAh) in her SG2. Am I right? I'm sure she wont get nearly as long life as the 1800 that's in her phone now, but she could use the 1500 in a pinch couldn't she? (No matter what the answer is, I'm gonna tell her no so she'll pony up the xtra one lol) But just out of curiosity, would the 1500 work in the SG2?
Thanx,
Ridge

I got those and they worked ok. Don't last as long as the OEM but you have an option of switching the batteries when waiting for the other to charge. They take a long time to charge from 0 to 100%. Still a better alternative than getting stuck with 1 battery. For me they last about 4 hours with listening to the radio on LTE and with everything else running in the background. This phone does suck a lot of juice.

I have this one, unfortunately I haven't had to check it out, I'll try to fire it up this week.
Thanx let me now if it's worth the money and also if the thickness does not kill the looks.
Cheers ;-)

Sounds like its not even close to 3800mah, or even 1800mah. Cheap batteries are notorious for overstating their actual capacity.

If u guys read what I wrote you would only have to spend $10 and get 3 batteries along with charger.. One of the batteries lasts a decent amount of time. I've been running on the Ebay battery since 6am and its now 152 pm. And I'm at 30% with decent data usage. I got my stock battery fully charged and ready to go for when I run out.. And I have the other two batteries as back ups if one of the batteries decides to fail. That beats having an oversized backing anyday

It depends on whether you carry a briefcase , are around a single place regularly, or have neither apply to you. I'm all over the place without a bag daily, so batteries in the pockets makes no sense.

Same here that you need the battery power last you the whole day.

Looked at extended batteries but didn't want to add thickness. Found an external battery pack (8400mAh) that works great, especially since I use a tablet. Gotta carry an extra device, but that works for me. Can get smaller capacity for about 1/2 the price of the one I got.
Can't post links since I'm a noob . Search Amazon for Anker external battery pack.

Finally had a chance to run this battery through its passes the last few days.
Let me describe my day.
I run an IT shop so I get lots of status, info, newsletter etc emails throughout the day. In addition I get text messages regularly, email on my gmail account, facebook updates and hourly twitter updates via plume.
So my phone comes off the charger around 7am(on home wifi), I start dealing with work emails at that time.
I do a commute of about 40-45 min where I'll listen to music that is stored on my phone pipe through my cars audio system in the morning. Get to work(go back to wwifi), then the phone will be on on sound notification for text and work email throughout the daily. I also run NoLED for notification.
Lunch time I'll come off wifi as I head out but I'll the phone will see increase usage as I'll browse various apps, play a few games, etc.
Back to just status notifications for the rest of the work day(back on wifi), then an evening commute home listening to music again, and back on wifi at home.
With that in my the stock battery will start at 100% and by the end of the day as I get in my car to head home be at about 15%-17%.
Yesterday the extended battery was at 45% when I got in the car, and by about 10:30pm was still at about 15%.
Today I didn't use my phone as much today (limiting it to mostly status updates which still come regularly) and my phone right now is at 65%.
This will work for me. I really only have an extended battery for periods where I'm not going to be near a charger... basically a day when I know I'm going to be out and about, as oppose to at work or in my car.
So with that being said I'm happy with the purchase.
edit: I also own an Energizer XP18000 which I can use to charge my phone and my Xoom 4G tablet that will come in to play when I head out on business trips for IT conferences.
So, you're gettng a 30% increase from a supposed 1950mah increase in battery capacity over the 1850 mah stock. That sounds like a 2400mah battery rather than a 3800mah battery.

My testing was very unscientific and this is really only the first day of usage. I vaguely remember that with many of these batteries folks have commented that the increase gains fairly quickly over a short period of usage/recharging?

Any thoughts on this battery? Has anyone tried it out? I've heard good things about the Anker 1550mAh battery for the O2X/G2X, so I'm kind of optimistic about this one. However, I recently ordered a GTMax 3500mAh from Amazon.ca, so I'll reserve my decision on purchasing this one until I'm able to test that one out.

I have a cheapo Amazon "3500mah" battery which after testing turned out to be only a little over 2000 mah however the Anker batteries appear to not bullsh¡t about their numbers so I would say using logic and past experience that it would be legit and worth it if you want the extra junk in your trunk ( or pocket)

For $12.99 I'll give it a go. Just ordered. 3-5 day shipping, so once I get it I'll post my thoughts.

I use the anker. You get around 3 hours more than stock after conditioning the battery 3/4 times.

Which one? There's an Anker 1550mAh, and the Anker 2800mAh that I posted.
oofh, 2800 mAh is not worth if you only get extra three hrs.
I got the 2x Chichitec --
http://www.amazon.com/CHICHITEC-Bat...-cellphone/dp/B00520BC3M/ref=pd_sim_sbs_cps_6
I never did a measurement, but I can get 3-4 hrs more of medium usage on the Chichitec than the stock batter.. ..
Just saying..

Don't be quick to be hating on the bohemoth.
I have found that when you first get a new battery there is a "break in" period. Not that this time will make any difference in performance long term but it normally takes a few charges or even as many as 10 to reach its peak mah capacity.
This has been documented on a few threads in this forum.

Yup. Will do. I've seen a lot of people talk up battery monitor widget, so I installed it on my current battery to get used to how it works and so I have some old data to compare to.
I also started using Juice Defender. Hopefully that doesn't skew the data. Well, I guess technically it doesn't matter as long as it skews it the same way.
Anyway, Amazon currently estimates a Wednesday - Thursday arrival date of next week. I'll update asap!

Right on yeah I'm a big jd fan too. Pisses me off from time to time but the 1.7x battery life is totally worth it for me. As far as I have seen there is no interference between jd and bmwp thanks for the update

Pretty sure JD is a necessity to Android; everyone I know has it and loves it (including me)
Related note: I received the GTMax 3500mAh I mentioned in the first post and am currently taking it through some cycles. I gotta say that it's a very noticeable improvement. I'm only on the first cycle, so we'll see if it gets better/worse. I'll be sure to post a comparison between the two (stock and extended) once I've had at least five full cycles.
Ok.. got my battery last night! First off, the place that shipped it got it here on Monday when Amazon estimated Wednesday at first, then moved it to Friday. So I'm already impressed with the third party provider.
Photos are attached.
First is the G2x with regular battery (and no TPU case that I normally keep it in)
Second is the 2800 mAh battery sticking in it for reference
Third is with the 2800 mAh case on.
I charged to 100 yesterday, and it's been running for the last 23 ½ hours, and it's at 40% currently. I've been using the hell out of it too just trying to kill it: Draw Something, Defender, texts, google chats, email, WiFi on all the time (but again, JD is running).
It's obviously bottom-heavy now with this beast in it, so that's taking some getting used to. I actually like it when the phone is being held vertically, but it kind of drives me crazy when I'm holding it horizontally. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
One thing that screws with all my plans - LG released 2.3.4 update yesterday too before I knew this battery was here, so I unrooted, flashed the updated and re-rooted. I'm now running 2.3.4 stock/root rather than my EB AOSP ISC ROM I was running before. I thought I'd have 3-4 days before the battery was here.
Anyway, more updates as I manage to kill this thing and see how it goes.
EDIT - going to bed. 29 and a half hours into first charge, at 30% currently. Will update tomorrow after work, once I 0 it out and recharge.
EDIT - 44 hours on first charge, almost exactly. Monday night at 7:47 to Wednesday afternoon at 3:51. Starting charge up now.
EDIT 3 - Uploading some usage photos. I think I'm an idiot when it comes to Battery Monitor Widget. Frankly most of this just doesn't mean anything to me, and the place I think I should see mAh estimate shows nothing. Anyway, this is normal daily usage - mostly some chatting, email, WiFi (because work appears to be build in some kind cellular Faraday Cage), lots of Draw Something, Temple Run and Defender 2. For some reason Defender doesn't show up.
Edit 4 - These screens were taken at 6%, and it easily could have lasted more time. I just wanted to charge it up and be done for the night.
Anyway, after a week or so of using this, I think it's a solid battery, but one that I'll probably pack away as a spare for weekend trips when I don't have access to a charger. I have dedicated chargers at home and work, so battery life isn't much of a concern.
For $12 I got this battery, a free USB "universal" card reader, and very fast shipping. Totally worth it.
Sounds really promising so far. The thickness is about identical to the 3500mAh one I got, but the Anker seems to outperform the GTMax so far if I compare your experience to mine.
How's the temperature? Is there a sensor?

Battery Monitor Widget measures the temperature, though I don't know how accurate it is.
I've not seen it pass 26 degrees. Stock was running 34.5 degrees when I popped it out.
Yeah I know BMW measures temp, but when you look at the graph does it show any fluctuation at all? BMW gets the temperature information from the battery's built-in temperature sensor. If it doesn't have one, all the graph will show is a straight line.
This GTMax battery gets pretty warm. Especially when charging. I'm charging it right now and the temperature is about 41C... which is hotter than the stock.
I'm definitely leaning towards this anker battery now

Those estimates aren't correct. My JD was telling me 1.9x battery, but I stopped using it and my battery lasts longer because the phone doesn't wake up every thirty minutes.
