Hey guys I got a tweak from wolfs Rom working on my x10 that increases the signal greatly. Watch the how to video here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy0r-o1Bh9Q&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I now have over a 10000 kbps connection just like his in the video. Pretty cool.
First step unzip the file in your sd card then open the file via root explorer
Next go into system/etc/init.d and copy the modules script using root explorer.
Next go to your system on the actual phone (not the sd card) then go.to etc then find the folder called init.d. (if you dont have it flash this via recovery) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236446
Then place modules in the init folder.
Next go back to your sd card where the 4.0.4 thing is and go into system*etc and copy the entire. Install sh recovery folder then go back to the actual phone and go to.system/etc and just paste it there and select yes if it asks u to overwrite something.
Finally find the install recovery thing
you just copied and click it once and press execute.
Then your done.
How to test if it worked. Before u do the tweak download speed test from the market and test your current wifi speed. After tweak test it again. Note it may require a reboot.
Get it here. http://www.datafilehost.com/get.php?file=a18d42a6

you do realize that overwriting install-recovery.sh will overwrite any other init.d scripts the person might have and also any tweaks put in there by the dev (if you are using it on any other rom than wolfbreaks)?
You shouldn't be advising people to do stuff like this without at least warning them about what they're doing.

I've asked a couple people in threads but after getting down to doing it I've come across various posts throughout XDA and other sites listing issues after /emmc format. One case was that the device bricks unless you can repatriation the internal card and another simply recommending not to.
I'd like to format internal to get rid of all the junk left over after multiple ROM flashes. I'm hesitent due to the aforementioned threads but also curious as to whether /emmc includes everything on the internal memory or if there is a secure partition allocated for things such as CWM. Does formatting /emmc not delete CWM itself? The plan is to put the next ROM on external SD, format /emmc, and immediately flash the new ROM on before booting. Is it correct that I all this can be accomplished within CWM and not require first going back to stock through ODIN?
Thanks!
No need to go back to stock. You can format emmc or sdcard through settings-storage. Or connect to PC then click on mount USB storage and delete from PC.

I'm pretty sure the former is a no-no on the Skyrocket, recall coming across that when I was first rooting a while back. The PC approach should be similar to CWM, thanks.

I don't see why people have all that buzz around cleaning(formatting) the "internal" sd card ...
Just mount USB storage in cwm and while the device is connected to the PC , delete everything from the PC and call it a day ... also you can even put any ROM you like to flash in the meanwhile
.

the brick problem was for aokp and cm9 roms, a dev bricked his phone using said procedure , since then they disabled that feature(pretty sure they did), it might b visable in the menu but it doesnt do anything.
if you are on stock rogers ics it should be fine (i cant see samsung releasing it as that is a major flaw, lots of returned phones), if u r on it try it, it should b safe, if it bricked it, tell rogers what happen and u will get another one.
custom rogers ics should also b safe, im on skyics 4.2f based on rogers ics, but im not willing to chance it, dont need to since i can use cwm or my pc to accomplish the same thing
Warning, warning, blah, blah, usual I'm not responsible if this kills your cat, etc.
I've been playing with the mr1-staging branch and finally have a build that is worth sharing.

2012-12-06: External SD works, but the Storage Setting FC's. Apollo and the File Manager can see the files though.

Have you been making nandroid back ups ? How much is under "Misc" ? Looks around 700mb ? ( but the yellow maker is covering it up )
Looks to me you need to do some house keeping to tidy up the storage space, easy enough to do.
What recovery are you using on the device ?
you've got OVER 2 gigs of app data folders on the internal there, open your file browser and look for folders of apps you've deleted and delete them, also remember YOU HAVE A MICROSD SLOT, you can add more storage for music and movies.
do any of your streaming apps keep a large "buffer", could try clearing app data.

Its the system partition that eats up the rest, as far as I know. That is why only just under

That's just the way it is. Kind of like when you insert a 32gb micro sd card you automatically lose nearly 4gb down to 29.7gb.
If you've been making backups chances are the cwm folder has a nice size file well over 1gb

Rooting has basically nothing whatsoever to do with the problem. Why does everyone think that just cause u rooted ur phone/ tablet now becomes mentally retarded?
I would look around in the system files. I had the same problem, there was this file idk how the hell got there and was like 4 gigs. Just try to locate the file and delete it.

Pretty sure you can go to a folder browser then couldn't u sort all them by size by bigger sizes descending. So what i mean is the biggest files would show up on top. Then you could look around and see if one of the bigger files is not needed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970961 here is another thread talking about pretty much the same thing. I agree with one of the posters, about just swapping the storage with the external sd card. I haven't personally had great luck with android 4.2.x, but there is a great script for p311x on xda that swaps them on ics and jb 4.1.x just fine. Its what I use, and also why im not running anything past 4.1.2.

If you're gonna wipe and flash something newer, connect your phone to a pc and from there browse your files on your sd card...Collect your music, pictures and anything personal...All the rest will be discarded anyway when you'll flash a newer Rom...
My suggestion is that you flash the latest AT&T JB leak UCLL3 or if you're on Rogers ,Odin the latest official JB Rom from Rogers...Head to the dev section for all the required files and steps...

There is an option in recovery for formatting the sd card [this is the int memory]. This is were all the misc junk files are. Before you flash your rom, format sd card, system, cache, data, delvik cache. Then mount usb copy the rom back to your phone and flash it.
