but at play store it is mentioned tht to use chain fire 3d htc devices will require s off along wid root and there are people who worry tht they wont brick their phone during the process of s off even i do
or is there any way to use chain fire 3d on our phone ?

for chainfire to be installed u need s off and this increases chances of bricking our device so better u dont install chainfire

Anyone know of a video effect app like the one for iPhone? I think theirs is called action movie effect.... Anyway would love to know if anyone knows of one similar...
Igo 8, Waze, Superuser Elite, BusyBox, Device Z test, Google Maps with world naviagation unlocked, ClockSync, flash light, ES explorer, Elecont Weather.
Paid apps: Titanium Backup (must have), Root Explorer, GreenPower, it really helps
Free: Waze - stunning social navigation , Anki, SMS Backup+Restore
I know everybody always suggests Titanium Backup, but I prefer MyBackup Root.
I've had too many issues with Titanium not properly restoring some of my apps, most notably the larger ones, after updating or switching roms. I've not had this problem since using MyBackup Root.
Can´t live without my FotMob
Best app for me is my fotmob app. It serves me with the latest soccer scores of almost every league in the world. You can filter the leagues you want and not!

The title is "must have android apps" (for rooted phones).
But do the suggestions must be root concerned?
I think a must have is what's app. (for rooted phones I suggest it, too )
I know about the privacy problems, but what's app has a big community and is working on different platforms.
Then I recommend K9-Mail. It's very customizable.
At the risk of repeating some other members posts, here's mine (root only):
Adaway - Shifts those pesky ads!
DroidSheep/DroidSniff/dSploit/WiFiKill - For being a nuisance on public networks
FX - This is my default file explorer
Lucky Patcher - takes care of suborn apps
Mobile ODIN - I used this to upgrade from from ICS to Jelly Bean. The 'ever root' feature is a god send!!
Nova Launcher Prime - My default launcher for my Tab 2 10.1
Rom Manager - To, erm, manage my rom's!!
Sixaxis Controller - Pairs my PS3 controller to my S3/Tab 2. Very handy for playing Grand Theft Auto!
STweak - Works alongside Siyah Kernel to make my S3 dual boot. Handy for testing new roms etc
Titanium Backup Pro - For backing up....obviously!
Total Recall - Automatically records all incoming and outgoing calls.
Hacker's Keyboard. It has all the keys you expect on a computer. You'll need them if you're on the command line or possibly editing files.
I've seen busybox, so command line apps/scripts/functions are fine - well then: My favourite Unix command has to be ll. As in alias ll="ls -l". It's in CM9, and I didn't even notice until I wanted to place an ll script in /system/bin and realized I had been using ll all the time
ScriptManager
Wifi File Server - there are others that do the same thing, I don't know what's the best. I prefer this over dealing with cables all the time.
ConnectBot and/or Terminal - for ssh or local shell access
AndroidVNC and 2xclient - 2xclient is an rdesktop client. Note: "Remote Desktop" is an rdesktop server.
Goggles - uploads an image (e.g. from the camera) to Google, tells you something about the image (maybe chinese translation, flower identification ...) I haven't tested it much, but should be useful if it works
TuneIn Radio
AppAlarm
Ministocks (I like how it just lists the information as plain text in a small font, I'd like more of that kind, uses screen real estate efficiently)
Clocksync - more than just NTP, it also autodetects the time zone

[apps] must have apps, after root[edited 24-08-13 ]

ok let me introduce my self, i am a android enthusiast
i made this thread so that others who root their phone wont have to go through with the hardship to find the apps that make ROOTING WORTHWHILE
there are tons which i may miss, but here are the ones which is must install! some of them are paid but its worth the price believe me
!!ATTENTION!!
ALL THE APPS HAVE BEEN PERSONALLY TESTED IN HTC ONE V STOCK ROM AND CM9 RC3,AOKP JB, PA, PACman ROM, NO PHONES SHOULD HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THESE APPS
IF U LIKE THIS THREAD A THANKS WILL BE APPRECIATED !!
ALTHOUGH IF ANY THING HAPPENS I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE
1.SUPER USER(FREE)
SUPER USER
Superuser is the first app a user should install after rooting, if the rooting method didn't do it already. "Rooting" a phone allows a user to establish total control over the device, but Superuser is the app that provides the button for that control
2.ROM MANAGER(FREE/PAID)
ROM MANAGER
ROM MANAGER is a app that is used to flash CVM, browse ROMS and more
3.TITANIUM BACKUP(FREE/PAID0[I RECOMMEND PAID]
TITANIUM BACKUP
Titanium Backup is an enormously useful app. Not only can it backup apps, but it can backup apps and all their data, and it can delete apps—even system apps or bloatware.
4.SETCPU FOR ROOT[PAID WORTH EVERY PENNY]
SET CPU
SetCPU allows the user to exert total control over how fast, or slow, the processor runs at any given point in time
5.ADFREE[FREE]
ADFREE
Adfree may actually be the greatest root-essential app available on Android, and it's one that you never see unless it needs updating. All Adfree does is block ads, but it does it for everything on the phone
6.TASKER[AMAZING PAID APP]
TASKER
what it does best is definitely a good thing, since it can practically automate your entire phone given the right amount of power.
7.METAMORPH[FREE/PAID]
METAMORPH
Metamorph is a small app that allows you to theme any part of Android by applying simple patch files
8.BUSYBOX[FREE/PAID]
BUSY BOX
It's not an actual app that you run, but instead provides all the Linux/UNIX commands that we know and love.
9.SSH TUNNEL[FREE]
SSH TUNNEL
Recently mentioned SSH Tunnel is an app that allows an Android phone to connect to the internet using an ssh tunnel for a completely secure connection
10.AUTORUN MANAGER[FREE/PAID]
AUTORUN MANAGER
Change the APPS that start when the phone boots and more
11.ROOT EXPLORER [PAID]

The root function for antitheft of avast (free) and cerberus (paid) i think are worth mentioning. They are wipe surviving antitheft apps that can remotely control several aspects of the phone through internet or sms.
Also, if on gingerbread, droidwall and pdroid are the paranoid's best friends (pdroid if successfully gone through the hassle of patching). Together give almost full control of permissions for apps, specially those with access to private data.
Edit: i think this list can be good, but maybe add a short description of what you use the apps for, and what advantages they might bring. Also, tasker and set cpu make juice defender irrelevant.
I don't see the point on having a anti virus, cause all the apk's are scanned my Google....and unless u use mms the chances of virus are low...and keeping those apps on drains alot of battery
yea ill add the descriptions

APKs are not that safe.
Yes they are scanned by google but they are all not "safe"
The popular game Paper Toss was collecting peoples data.
Everyone should be aware that it may not be viruses but taking your information is to me considered not "safe"
You need to read the permissions before installing.
If you download a live wallpaper of the ocean waves it shouldn't have the phone permission to "read phone identity" or "access hardware controls".
I didnt just make this up. The comments of shady apps are flooded with people asking what the permission are needed for.
"PhonemyPc" is a pretty good app to remotely access and use your PC.
DroidCamX for using your phone as a wireless webcam.
For my SGS2 running CNA JB
GooManager
Mobile Odin
ROM Toolbox
Root Explorer
Terminal
User Management
+ everything you already have in the OP

Free Apps
"Shush" is a good free app which once you put your phone on silent or vibrate you can set the time when you want it the normal sound settings to come back on, ideal for use at work or meetings.
"Anydo" is a great note app & is super stylish, which comes in black or white & ics blue, one of the best note apps on the market.
"Quickpic" a great gallery app which is a brilliant alternative to the stock gallery, also themed in black or white & a great layout.
"Zipsigner" is a apk signing app, you can modify your zip app files & then sign it using this app, then install & enjoy your Modded app, really easy to use too.
"Ringdroid" a ringtone maker app, use this to cut your own music tracks up & turn it in to your own custom ringtones or message alerts.
Loads more to mention really but this is a good start :0)

[Q] Do I need Mobile Security, along with those following root necessary apps?

1)I have rooted the Android phone. Xperia Tipo.
2)Installed the Root explorer, Permissions Denied, Droidwall, Startup Manager, Adfree, Busybox, Titanium Backup.
3)I was planning to use the Comodo Mobile Security (including antivirus and a live monitoring firewall)
Do I need to remove anything from the previously installed set of apps? Because even if I have droidwall, It only blocks applications as a whole. I cannot stop the apps from doing specific spying like- phonebook photo, access. etc.
The ****ty google has lot of apps that keep logged in. I tried to block one service from startup, and youtube stopped working.
I dont want to permanently block them. I only want these apps to login and access only when I need.
What should I do?
I know I asked two or more questions in one topic, despite of the title. But, hope someone tells me.
Dude I can understand what you want because I also hate such google apps running in background so do the following
Go to (settings<apps<all)and find the app you want "for example" take YouTube select it and click "Disable"
(before tat click force stop to save RAM) The app will be freezed and will not run until you again go and enable it...
PS:The disabled app will be in the dead bottom in (settings<apps<all) you can go there and "Enable" it again when you really need to use the app.
HIT THANKS IF I HELPED YOU:thumbup:

Try Anti Theft Mobile Security
Try out Mobisecurity.net
It not only tracks location of lost mobile but also lock mobile remotely, send SIM change alert along with switched SIM number, wipe personal data when fallen into wrong hands.

[App] Simple Root Checker

So my first dive into android app development was Simple Recovery Switcher (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-simple-recovery-switcher-t2857554) and even though I was a bit ashamed to post it as my first app it's been pretty successful for a noob app developer's first app
I started writing my 3rd app which was another root application so then I got the idea "well I might as well throw together a root checker quick from this" So I did.. Yes.. It's only a root/busybox checker but I did learn a few things out of it and that's the main goal..
So I came up with Simple Root Checker(to go along with my "Simple" theme hehe)
Nothing really more to say about it really.. it's a BS app that I got some knowledge from doing
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.graffixnyc.rootchecker

Thank you sir.
I do not see the point of this app
As Backup+ and any decent fileexplorer such as fx provides the feature of checking for root but without ads
Backup+ not only has a clean simple UI but has the option "Diagnostics" which checks for root and the version of busybox installed.
Are you planning on providing more features or just keeping it a Simple Root Checker withADS ?

@m0d
It was part of a learning thing.. I know it's a BS app for most of us here but there is a need for an app like this considering other apps that do nothing but check root have had tons of downloads.. I guess you missed the part in my OP where I said " it's a BS app that I got some knowledge from doing " And as it said I was doing another app that required root access so that was the first thing I built into the app and said "Hey I can throw a root checker app out of this really quick" so I did.. Don't really know what your problem is. Just because you don't see a need for an app like this doesn't mean a need does not exist as far as ads go.. this is xda... more of us then not block ads so your ad point is not really valid. most FREE apps have ads.. My other free ones have ads. I made donate versions usually that don't have ads but I didn't do that for something as bs as a root checker..
Maybe you should focus on your CM and Omni kangs and stop acting all high and mighty and putting down other's work because you got one rom to build.
