connexion has a riffbox, this is how the firmware is installed at the factory. he wants this so he can provide a service for us. so the answer is 100% yes. don't speak so fast. Samsung also may have a way to repair bootloaders throught the USB, Adam outlet has been researching ways to do this and might be close.
connexion I'm on my phone so it is tedious to search and provide a link, but there was a untested bootloader dump in lost1's Odin package, the pit doesn't work with that one.
also gtg and other are trying to get Rogers bootloaders but without your service it is getting hard to get a tester, not sure if they got a good dump yet. thank you for your interest. i hope you are successful in finding what You need.

he will fix bootloaders soon, the riffbox means opening up the phone and flashing directly to the board. and that means the ability to test gb bootloader dumps in confidence! hopefully we will have a tested working gb bootloader dump before then but if not connexion will be a good person to be involved.
but i understand that you may have thought he was flashing with Odin. still bootloaders are needed to use the pit file if used with heimdall, little known fact but i didn't think the bootloader request would be weird no matter who it is. i try to assume the poster has the knowledge unless it is otherwise apparent that they don't.
connexion - try to catch up with gtg465x or LinuxBozo on IRC, #infuse4g on freenode. They can hook you up.
BTW, due to troll problems webchat users are currently banned, you need to use a real client.
Thanks guys ill give one of hem a shot. Currently I can do the Captivate, Vibrant, i9000, TAB 7", Nexus S and Epic aand many many more. The Infuse has very similar hardware. If I can map the pinouts I may be able to connect and re-write a Captivate bootloader which COULD allow download mode and allow me to flash the correct ones. If that won't work but I can still connect via JTAG I can still just back up a working Infuse to create my own bootloaders. This is worlds first stuff we are talking about and I'm trying to get you guys in on a solution for a hard brick...

BTW, do you know of anyone who has done work with using OpenOCD and FT2232-based JTAG dongles instead of the RIFF box?
If I can find a candidate "guinea pig" device (even a non-Infuse similar to ours) cheaply enough I may try getting the OpenOCD + FT2232 combo going with a Bus Blaster v2.
Which reminds me - What's the target Vref voltage for Samsung's JTAG port? Bus Blaster v2 can go down to 1.2 volts.
I've never tried using any other JTAG solution. I write to i897 with a JTAG Target Voltage of 2.8V...
Has anyone tested those bootloaders and actually flashed them? They appear to be legit after looking at them with a hex editor. If they are legit then Infuse bootloaders are NOT compatible with i897, T959 or i9000 bootloaders as both sets of those bootloaders for Rogers and ATT hard bricked my test Vibrant. Still does not mean I'm out of options. If I can connect to an Infuse via JTAG, I can write a script and inject my own bootloaders that way most likely.
Here's the real sticking point. We've tried heimdall and odin to flash bootloaders, and they either error out on flash, or just don't take at all. We're guessing there is some sort of signature checking, or the infuse has some other way of flashing bootloaders correctly. No one really has had time to sit down and figure it out completely.
Hi, everyone, I've recently HARD BRICKED my Samsung Galaxy MODEL: T959V with T-mobile.
First off, I got pattern locked on my phone, yea I know I'm an idiot, LOL. Next I totally forgot my gmail password so I could not log back into my phone.
So then I next decided to flash back to stock with odin 1.7 and T959UVJFD. tar file from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1047087.
As a result, my phone would boot to the loading screen with the dashed circle and a battery display in the background and thus would not finish booting all the way.
So I figured I would do more research and found that people would try flashing with the Eugene_2E_JK2_Froyo from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...833024&page=49 and after flash back to stock.
After I flashed with the Eugene rom this was when the phone completely died and would not turn on. I tried the take out the battery, holding down and up volume button and plugging into computer method but the computer would not detect it anymore.
Now I don't know what to do. I realized I was flashing with the Galaxy Vibrant kernels with Odin and now, it won't turn on anymore and can't boot into download mode. It is also not being detected my computer when I plug it in. I'ts a blank screen.
Please help.. Thanks, and appreciate it.
Unfortunately, you won't get much sympathy for that. Here's some info for you though.

Hello!! I bricked my gs4g, couldn't put it in download mode with the regular bottoms combo, so what I did was:with the phone off push volume bottoms, both in the same time nothing else, then connect your phone with the computer(usb), that gave me download mode

Umm I don't know what carrier your with or if you are still in your warranty time frame or have mobile phone insurance? But when I first started flashing phones I bricked a captivate after having it for only a couple of months so I called att and told them I was updating the phone using kies mini as directed and the power blinked and screwed the phone up. So they never questioned me they just sent me a new captivate.. I was lucky cause that was about the time the froyo update came out so they never questioned me just said that's happened to a lot of people. So with gingerbread updates rolling out tell them you were updating and the phone cut off and won't come back on. Its worth a try. I know a lot on here that has done it...

It won't work for his problem. His phone doesn't have download mode anymore. The international ROM overwrites that part. JTAG is the only option.

I had my phone in a similar situation with not download mode via "buttons" and nothing to do except sending..

But, anyway I would spend 2$ instead of 60 to try..

No I've always read what I'm flashing so no need, but the download mode partition is overwritten by the ROM so there's nothing for the dongle to force him into. Also, this problem of people flashing the wrong ROM pops up all the time. The last guy I helped bought the single, wasted a week and when it didn't work sent his phone in.

I just hard bricked my sgs3. FIRST TIME EVER!! I've been flashing roms, kernels, etc since the MyTouch3.
Little back story.....
I flashed the LSmooth - Linaro 4.2.1 Jelly Bean Rom with CWM6. I noticed that I could not find my nandroid backups. Searched XDA and saw a thread that stated that TWRP is compatible with 4.2.1 and it will move the internal /sdcard from /0 back to its original file location, etc, etc. I went to GooManager, downloaded the twrp.tar (d2vzw), then went to MobileOdin, loaded the .tar file and flashed.
BOOM!!! No power, DOA. dead ass!! :crying::crying:
(( FACE SLAP )) then I remembered via build.prop it was configured as "maguro" and not "d2vzw". So, I'm assuming that since I failed to edit the build.prop before flashing the d2vzw TWRP recovery, it bricked my phone.
-- No power via wall, usb
-- No download / recovery mode
-- NOTHING!
My question is, if I were to call in and ask for a warranty exchange, what is the likely hood of Verizon troubleshooting, reviving my phone and figuring it out that its been rooted?
Or, should I just send my phone to someone that can JTAG it for me?

I don't have an answer for your question but I would like to ask one. Did the build.prop change cause the phone to brick because it made Goo Manager download the wrong file, Mobile ODIN to flash it wrong/to the wrong place, or something else I'm totally missing? This is just a new one to me and I try to stay up on this stuff so I don't end up with a brick myself. Thanks.

ur good man, i cringe anytime I see a send back to vz related question as this guy is how carriers can justify locking these phones down, or one of the reasons.
not that ethics and the internet go together but what op has done is wrong and it hurts this community.

Actually, I just hard bricked my s3 a couple hours ago as well! My situation is a little different though! Earlier today I received my OTG cable in the mail from eBay....long story short, this thing just destroyed my phone....turns out I'm not the only one who's had this happen! People, please be careful, don't do what I did and buy a cheap OTG cable! There seems to be some confusion as to whether it's the cable or the phones that are the cause of the problem....just google it.... OTG hard brick.....you'll see what I'm talking about!
