Not sure I really understand your question. Asus themselves offer 4.0, with full source code so that developers can play with the firmware/device. That being said, I have not experienced any charging/docking issues with any of the different ROMs here and I use the dock religiously.

I know there are USB-HDMI cables, but what kind of pinout connections for the TP translate?
The TP plug LOOKS like the one on my Samsung Mythic phone cable, but I sure as hell wouldn't plug it in!
Pros to why it might work
The chipset is capable
It doesn't appear that HP messed with the reference design
Cons to why it might not work
Chipset may be capable but no idea if the drivers to do it are in WebOS
It could have been removed
I can't find if anyone has tried an MHL adapter on the Touchpad yet
I've yet to hear of anyone outputting any video with the touchpad to an external screen.
I tried an MHL adaptor on the touchpad and it doesn't work.
Would be good if there's any other way to link it to a TV/Monitor.

So now the question is, is it because the hardware was modified or is it lacking in the software?
Another thought I had was looking to Bluetooth VDP support. Since WebOS uses the bluez stack and there was some work previously on VDP for bluez it shouldn't be too hard to the profile working. There is also the SPP video approach however both of these would need one to have a Bluetooth receiver to display the video.

Regardless of whether or not the hardware supports it, the software definitely does not.

I wouldn't get my hopes up given the state of WebOS. Android is looking like the best solution right now especially with ICS just around the corner.
gentleman, it WILL NOT work on 3.0.2 or 3.0.3, but is the #1 feature for 3.0.4, so either wait for that, or hope that CM team gets it working, but it prolly wont work in CM7 1.0 as its not the most important thing to have working at launch

Actually, I understood HDMI-out was confirmed to be part of 3.0.4.
Really, HP has nothing to gain by holding out on us, so I can't imagine they would.

CM, but Dalingrin more specifically. He says it is supported by the SoC, pinouts are the big question.
Google it or search here at xda. The phrase "webos 3.0.4 hdmi" worked for me.

he meant source for "gentleman, it ... is the #1 feature for 3.0.4"... is it actually official or just people on the forum mentioning it? i only seen mostly user statements that hdmi out will be on 3.0.4.. nothing offficial
edit: is webos 3.0.3 out? i am on 3.0.2 and went to system updates but it says i am on latest version

source is from HP devs, im looking for the link in my history (EDIT: dammit, link is pulled, HP is cracking down on these leaks hard. looking for cached page)
as for 3.0.3, it WAS available, but HP sent a C&D to xda and nbournes (something like that, my bad ) so its gone, and HP also deactivated the dev reg server, so you have to impostah bypass to use 3.0.3, you get the camera app, faster browser but no access to app catalog or HP resources

I very much doubt they will add ANY new features, and any in the works will probably be removed or disabled in the final release. I think HP is releasing one last software update to deal with the fact that the software that shipped is junk. Its slow and buggy and I think HP feels that they need to fix the outstanding issues. I seriously doubt they feel they need to put any energy into adding new features. WebOS IS dead. Hp is not making devices running it anymore and no one is going to want it. They may be able to sell it for a few bucks to someone who wants the palm patent portfolio though. At the right price google might want those patents. The idea that HP will keep flushing money down the webOS hole though is absurd.

you just have to follow all the directions.
and since there is No Proof that HDMI is the #1 feature of 3.0.4, I'm calling BS until there is proof.
It's not a phone-question, but since the OS is pretty much the same, I assume, I'll ask anyway...
I read that the original wired Xbox 360 controller should work plug-and-play with Android ICS. I have a Cherry M-1007 tablet with Android ICS on it, yet, if I plug in the controller (in the fullsized USB-port), it starts blinking, so it does get power, but it does nothing else.
Is there any known way to get this controller working on tablets where it's not supported natively? I bought it specifically to use with Snesoid/Supergnes on my tablet, and there are lots of tablets where it DOES work plug -and-play.Just not on mine, of course
Could it make ANY difference at all if I plug it into the smaller USB-port with an adapter? My keyboard works fine on the tablet, and that plugs into the smaller USB...
Or is there any app I can use to make it work? Preferably a free one, since I don't have a creditcard, so even if an app is just € 0,01, I can't buy it without going through a big hassle...
Please help
100 views and nobody has an idea in which direction I should be looking? That makes me sad
Seriously, nobody has ANY idea whatsoever?
Very few use it this way it seems. The issue most likely is a kernel issue. Something may not be enabled in your devices kernel. Other then that I have no idea.

That really is too bad The people at the official Cherry forums are ignoring my question as it is, so I guess I have a wired controller for nothing now Good thing I do have an Xbox so on some rare occassion I might have some use for a second controller, but I'm still very bummed about this I was so looking forward to playing my old SNES favourites when on holiday...
Thanks If anybody has gotten this to work or has some kind of clue, I'm still open to suggestions
I have a slightly odd list of needs from an android tab and was wondering if the tf700 will meet them;

The screen is matched only by the Retina display. Best Android screen on the market. We've had 4 or 5 updates so far, including JB as one of the first non-Google companies.

I have some friends that work for the government and their in the same boat as you. They aren't even allowed to use wireless when their traveling and it's available.
Thanks for this, sounds good. Only thing left to work out is line in then i guess, if someone could test this for me it would be really helpful. Its the last piece of the puzzle i think.
One other question, i take it the only "pairing" the tablet does with the keyboard is just being plugged in? The reason i ask is that if i buy a couple of tablets and keyboards (me and the mrs) can we just swap the keyboards round without any pairing faff?

As far as I know, you can interchange the docks. There's a driver for it installed in Android from the start. There's no personalized settings or anything stored in the dock itself. Plug and Play.

If you are located outside the US in Europe this would be your answer.
If you're a US user then your stuck with the complex USB adapter scenario it seems.
perfect, that actually looks just what im after, simple easy and with cat5 in built. shame it doesnt have line in then it really would be ideal!
edit: just need to find someone that will actually supply it to me now!
Hello,
After the update to JB 4.2, my dock is recognized by tablet, the charging process work well, but the keyboard is dead! Even if I change the settings, made a cold reboot or Wipe data, the situation is the same!
I made the update without dock, but I don't think that is relevant.
The tablet was never rooted.
Seems to be a hardware problem? Can be a coincidence with the update to 4.2?
Thanks,
Any suggestion please?
Maybe try a full wipe and reinstall. It sounds like you followed the same process i did. My keyboard is working similarly to how it did before the upgrade, occasional missed keystrokes and all. In fact I'm typing you this on my TF700 keyboard as the cooling fan on my laptop is currently dead.
Out of curiosity, do you know if you have the actual TF700 keyboard or one of the 300 versions that are supposed to be floating around out there?

Duh, that's what I meant, sorry for any confusion. I think I identified mine as one of the newer TF700 keyboards. It's possible that could be the problem.
Hello,
I am really new to anything Android. I have an HTC One M8, and would like to connect my Wireless Xbox 360 Controller to my phone via OTG, so it would work with Limelight. I was looking at the 'How to use Xbox controllers on your Android device' thread on Se7enSins (I can't post links), and a commenter said
I'm now using ARHD 8.0 Rom(Android Revolution by mike1986 - version 1.29.401.16) and I love it. Looks completely stock but seems to run much quicker and smoother. I've had it on for 3 days now with no issues and I'm also using ElementalX 8.1 Kernel by flar2. The kernel allows for a huge list of OTG devices to work, especially controller's and my DSLR.

, but this was in reference to a HTC One M7. If anyone could help me by pointing me in the right direction, or just give me some tips here, I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance,
