Dock keyboard dead after 4.2 update - Asus Transformer TF700

Hello,
After the update to JB 4.2, my dock is recognized by tablet, the charging process work well, but the keyboard is dead! Even if I change the settings, made a cold reboot or Wipe data, the situation is the same!
I made the update without dock, but I don't think that is relevant.
The tablet was never rooted.
Seems to be a hardware problem? Can be a coincidence with the update to 4.2?
Thanks,

Any suggestion please?

Maybe try a full wipe and reinstall. It sounds like you followed the same process i did. My keyboard is working similarly to how it did before the upgrade, occasional missed keystrokes and all. In fact I'm typing you this on my TF700 keyboard as the cooling fan on my laptop is currently dead.
Out of curiosity, do you know if you have the actual TF700 keyboard or one of the 300 versions that are supposed to be floating around out there?

Duh, that's what I meant, sorry for any confusion. I think I identified mine as one of the newer TF700 keyboards. It's possible that could be the problem.

[Q] Firmware 8.2.3.13/Dock EP101-0209 no dock battery icon?

As many others, just got the firmware update a little while ago.
firmware is now 8.2.3.13 and dock is EP101-0209
is everyone else who got this update missing the dock battery icon that they added on the beta firmware a few days ago?
I did not have the beta update installed but I can confirm that there is no dock battery meter.
Too bad... Maybe they're really getting it right for the 3.1 update.
Here's hoping!
No battery meter here, what a load.
Mine has now stopped telling me that the dock is charging the tablet since update. It is still charging, just no lightning symbol on battery.

mine did that before the update.
seems that the charging icon wont show when the TF battery is fully charged.

I liked it, I could look down and see when the dock had died.
Updated and now my dock has stopped responding and my internet browser isn't working And also no dock battery icon.
Yep, no battery meter for the dock, although, it is working really well!!
that battery meter must of caused some problems or the guy on here was giving us a look on some of his personal work not approved

Lol, dont blame you... I'm not entirely sure what this whole blob thing is.
All I know is that the stock one is huge, and the cwm blob is small, so guessing all it does is install clockwork mod.
i just paul revere'd the news over to modaco... see what happens.
Do you guys know why the number 1 and number 6 on the keyboard have circles around the numbers? PM me if you dont want to derail the thread.
Seems to have fixed the disconnect issues but no seperate battery icon for the dock. Happy just to be able to use the dock so I can wait on an icon.

Well. The update has been pretty terrible for me. I have to reload the page in the browser about 8 times to see a page. Restarted the tab twice now. Sooo.. Question now is, can I roll back?

I know that this workaround it's not likable, but did you tried a factory reset?
I upgraded as well and everything works as it should.

Uggh. Please dont tell me that. If I get really desperate I will.
Running the update right now. In the last half hour, the keyboard dock froze up at least 4 times, and I restarted the TF three times. It ran pretty decently over the last couple days.
I'll report back shortly after the update is done.

No problems for me aside from the normal ICS not fully baked issues everyone experiences , hopefully Jelly Bean solves most of those.
My son was having problems with his tablet and had to send it back to ASUS for fixing, he had a number of hardware issues. You may have similiar issues, if your having issues send it back before warranty period and have them check it out.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update

Hello, I am buying this tablet in two months, but until then I will lurk this section, anyway down to the point: http://www.androidauthority.com/acer-tablets-iconia-tab-jelly-bean-update-details-103747/ and http://www.tabletguide.nl/24003/acer-gaat-tablets-updaten-naar-android-4-1/?ystfuv
Apparently tabletguide talked to Acer Officials on the phone and Acer confirmed several newer tablets will receive the update, I'm guessing A510, A700, and such
Anyway lets hope its true!
This morning a french website advertised that A200, A510 and A700 were getting JB updates today ! We'll see if it's true...

http://www.tabletguide.nl/24003/acer-gaat-tablets-updaten-naar-android-4-1/ they asked Acer and Acer answered, that a JB Update is planned. But they did not announce a concrete time for this update. Some german sites will rumor about Acers JB update too... So i'm nearly sure: JB is coming - hopefully soon.
another source http://tablet-news.com/2012/07/28/acer-confirms-jelly-bean-updates-coming-for-some-of-their-models/
Would be awesome if they release it soon, Development may get more popular for this device.

No doubt that JB is going to be released any time soon.
What I find hard to believe is that this is happening today!!
I would be more than happy should I be proven wrong...

Unfortunately not.
Actually we have JB since yesterday for the A700 thus the french website wasn't that wrong but in an unexpected way . Check out pawitps thread for his unofficial CM10: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1806980. Sure, it's an alpha but it's a start :fingers-crossed:.
Actually I don't care much about JB.
Not that I would not like to see it running on my tablet, but at the moment I am so fed up with my tablet that I would be happy even if it was running on Cupcake but without those annoying touch screen issues...
Well we have evidence that Acer is currently working on JB for the A700. Early builds can be seen on GLBenchmark
Acer_AV051_A700_0.000.14_WW_GEN1
Acer_AV051_A700_0.005.00_WW_GEN1
acer/a700_ww_gen1/picasso_mf:4.1.1/JRO03H/1343153291:userdebug/test-keys
acer/a700_ww_gen1/picasso_mf:4.1.1/JRO03H/1343405184:user/release-keys
Those are very early builds but at least we know development has started !
Ah, that's sweet. But I would prefer CM10 because then I can have the same system on my Acer A700 and my Motorola Defy. I hope Acer will make a better job on JB than on ICS (for those who want to stick with stock rom's).
I can tell you that JB will be amazing on this tablet.
I'm running that Alpha and its a big difference in response from ICS especially with scrolling...
I personally cannot wait.

What about the touch screen?
Is it responsive the way it is supposed to be?
I've never had a problem with touch response on this tablet so I cannot comment on that aspect.

Do you have touchscreen issues even after toggling the screen sensitivity? If yes, I think you should have the tablet replaced.
I used to have screen sensitivity issues in my tab (it had a screen protector on though), but it would go away after toggling that setting.
I'm now in a new replacement tab (without a screen protector yet), and I don't have touch screen issues. (Will install a capdase screen protector this weekend, will report if it changes screen responsiveness.)
Anyone know if JB will be available if the tablet is rooted or if it can be easily unrooted, updated and re-rooted?
Or is it just too early to tell yet?

I'm on my second a510, the first one had a terrible touchscreen with dead spots all over the place and just generally sketchy performance. I took it back to FutureShop for a replacement the next day and it's literally night and day. Zero problems. Go get a yours replaced, you won't believe it's the same tablet.

Well, as a matter of fact my tablet has been replaced in two distinct sessions!
I sent it back to Acer for fixing the touch screen issues and they replaced both the LCD and the Touch Panel. Unfortunately the problem was still there, so I resolved to send it back for assistance one more time. This time they replaced the motherboard but as you may easily guess the touch screen is still cra.. ehm.. not working properly.
I am eagerly waiting for an update to my 1.073_WW_GEN1 Rom. If the firmware update does not solve the issue at all, I am calling Acer again for a full replacement.

Left Click not working

Hi,
I have a Asus TF300T tablet that has a cracked touch screen but an intact LCD. With or without the touch panel connected the Left mouse button on the touch pad only seems to highlight the position of the mouse. The same happens when I connect a mouse via USB that I know works on my laptop.
Any suggestions?
Also, I would like to replace the glass but have noted that several people have noted different versions. Is there a thread or website on how to work this out?
Thanks,
LiveItNerd

I dont think ICS supports that left click.. I only remember getting it on Jellybean.
I have same problem on ME301T with Android 4.2.1 F/W WW_epad-10.6.1.26. I've tried different mouses (USB, Bluetooth), but same problem. Please help solve this problem.

[Q] Shield tablet falls asleep

I'm a new user of the Nvidia Shield Tablet (32gb+LTE. Baseband e1729.4.05_0.6.4 @815584, kernel 3.10.33-gf9fe8be)
I have made all the upgrade/fix available via OTA and now I have Lollipop 5.01.
I'm experiencing strange and very annoying slow down (and occasionally blocks), expecially when the tablet wake after a standby.
Applications open very slowly, games are slowed (even simple ones like Clash of Clans) and the interface is poorly responsive.
I bought this tablet to have one of the faster available but I'm not having the user experience I sought.
Do you have some suggestions?
I'm also thinking of reinstalling from scratch the last rom available but I don't know how to do this and where to download it.
(In this case is there a way to reinstall all apps and customizations from a backup )

You should post this on Nvidia´s forum mate.
I have a few slowdowns on my tablet as well but I´m pretty sure that´s Lollipop related.
Hoping Android 5.1 solves this bad experience most of us are having.

Sounds like your issue is based on some of the memory leak issues in Lollipop that will hopefully be fixed with 5.1. It's not only a shield issue, it happens on my HTCone GPE also. With the list of bug fixes within 5.1 i can imagine and hope this will get fixed after update.
