1st step: i opened the back cover out then unscrewed the screws

2nd: guys dont pull out the stickers stuck on the back of the display be as delicate as possible
3rd:when u remove the display u will see the button area u could either color that area with a marker or use a transparent color paper i have used the color paper

5th put everything back in place and boot

I bet if you used some of that translucent model paint like what comes in those tiny bottles for model cars it might work pretty good. It would have to be that kind of paint though and not regular blue paint. Use some of that and maybe thin it down just a tad with a drop or two of thinner. I like the idea of blue capacitives, but like you say, only if it is bright enough.
I imaging one could get even more creative and use a different color for each light or multi-tone across all four horizontally.

Awesome...thanks a lot! It looks nice and clean for the home screen, I'll definitely dl it hehe
James, when you make the tabs for the flip clocks, you need to be as precise as possible or they will fall apart like that screeny. Especially for the landscape support. They need to be shaped like the whole tab behind it. So much that it looks like one solid image, till it flips.

Just a couple more 'bugs' i found.
On xda app the buttons are still white as in your first theme you managed to get them dark.
Also within root explorer, system, apps, Set permissions screen is also white. Not Major bugs, just thought id let you know since it IS a dark rom afterall lol everything else gr8 so far though. ill let you know more when if i find more.

Looks really great. =)
definitly cool! maybe a bit brighter on the blue icons in the pull down status bar? It sort of seems opposite, when the buttons are "de-activated" they are white which appears brighter than the blue. Just an observation. Great work!
Looks superb, thank you.

I can replace the ones in the app with what you want. Yeah I know you can change them stock but they all suck. Give me an example of what you are wanting. I can change out the files in the app with whatever. Im going to make like a ics blue and silver message bubbles for myself and change the style of the bubbles a little. I liked the sense 4 bubbles on my rezound so Ill probably make something similar to those to try out. I might be able to make a semitransparent background also but I gotta play around with it a little.

So you know where the "messaging" bar image/xml is? My inquiring mind wants to know!
I can upload everything I have if you like and pm it to you ,I cant seem to get the new bubble styles to work
Here is a start to an idea I have. It is blue and silver sense 4 style bubbles with a pure white background, also can use the black background by picking in the app. Anyone through out some ideas of what else to change. Ill post this up for now if anyone interested, im going to do more to it later when i get some more time.

Im going to take 5 different colors from my rezound colors I made and put them in the app so you can change them in the app. They will all be the sense 4 style. What colors of backgrounds you guys want. I got black, and white i can put 3 more in there. then you guys can change backgrounds and bubble colors all from the message app.
Orange/blue,Blue/green, orange/green

These are the infamous Glass Dialers. The button was borrowed from Mcluvn who deserves credit. The aroma installer mod is from thisiskindacrap (thank you)
These dialers are good for both JB and ICS. I have tested them on JellyWiz and JellyWiz Note2 Edition but they should work for all. Let me know what others you try it on and I will add them here.
edit: Verified it works on ICS Clean Rom and ICS deodexed HE Build.
The glass dialers will not work on roms that have a prethemed dialer that enlarges the font. One's that I know of that wont work are Beans and Jelly Bomb.
prethemed patch no longer works with beans 15
All of the colored icons you see in the pics are from my Real Icon Theme and not included in these dialers.
These are for TouchWiz Roms.
These now work with TWRP.
NEW AROMA INSTALLER, SWAP COLORS EVERY DAY!!
The first nine pictured are in the installer. The maroon stock is not.

I actually had this done a couple days ago but i didnt want to post it until i got the press animation right because it was just lighting the whole square like on the base dialer. Once i got it to color just the button itself then I knew it was ready for prime time.
ics
i made one of these for ics. The only difference that I remembered in the vrtheme is that jb needed a different binary. Would someone be willing to test and see if these work on ics so I could share with all those folks as well?

When you say "press" do you mean when you press down on the keys?
My first thought would be like silver or chrome, but i completely trust your judgment.
I dont want to copy this one and gwt anyone pissed off, but i always loved this one on the rezound.
I look forward to your blue one. Thanks again.

it would be great if you could test one for me.
Any chance of making a Blue Glass dialer
jbeitel said:
The first dialer, Red Glass Dialer, is my favorite. The button was borrowed from Mcluvn who deserves credit.
These are JellyBean dialers. I have tested them on JellyWiz and JellyWiz Note2 Edition but they should work for all. Let me know what others you try it on and I will add them here.
All of the colored icons you see in the pics are from my Real Icon Theme and not included in these dialer.
Here they are:

can you test the red glass dialer on ics for me, if that one works then they all will. i wonder if i should make a second thread for ics instead of putting them together. sometimes when it is too vague of a title, people won't check it.

Red glass is working quite nicely.
As for the threads... you would think that one thread would be sufficient, but searching and reading seems to be becoming a lost art on here. Probably go with seperate threads.

Here is the red glass dialer running on Inc's Jelly bomb rls 3. Running smooth.

Pimp my Desire S
I saw the boring colours of my ds for too long so I decided to bodymod it
BEFORE
AFTER
And a comparisation:
Moar pics:
(yep. swag is on with this one!)
HOW?!
First off, here's the imgbox gallery with all the pics in it: http://imgbox.com/g/yg5CGqBZmq
I started sanding my ds but was quite lazy to finish it. I fully sanded the paint off with grit 400, and then gave it to my dad who sandblasted the phone at his work.
The inspiration came from this dhd thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1293207, my original plan was to sand it with 400 - 800 - 1200 and then polish it so that it would get a shine. But in the end, i'm pretty happy with this result as well
What you could do as well is varnish the whole thing to make it more scratch-proof but I haven't tested that
For painting the grilles ect you could just sand 'em up with grit 400 and then use some car paint which holds the best. :good: It looks so awesome on the camera lens
Tell me what you think, and I hope that I inspired you guys for some bodymodding
derp
I have to admit, I'm really impressed. Nice job.

Looks really great. Bringing whole new life to old gray ds
Very well done. It looks very professional.
Nice! I'm thinking for painting my phone white and then use black or red to paint the rockers etc. I think the phone would look nice cause it has several black parts(battery cover+camera cover and around the screen)

When properly sanded and cleaned the painting should do pretty well Curious how it would look. be sure to post it!
Though you need some paint that won't come off easily and let it dry properly, the paint i used earlier for my front grille didnt work out so well, but it does for my camera lens and other grille. so my tip is to buy a small can of car paint which you normally use to fix small scratches ect. holds better on slipperier surfaces
This look sweet! I bet it's bumped up the resale value quite a bit as well

Agreed! I painted my mountainbike(downhill bike) suspension fork which is made from aluminium few months back with spray paint and used primary paint, too and it went well and paint have not cracked or anything(even when small rocks etc. hits it). Lets hope that when I have the time it will work on the phone also

Just wondering, did you sand the desire s with or without taking it apart? As in, like unscrew everything, that kind of taking it apart.
Sent from my Desire S using xda app-developers app
Of course not, the screen likes sandpaper. It likes a 3 ton truck also.

I think he unscrewed the parts from the case, it's the only way you can take the case apart... Just sanding it without unscrewing the case would result into destroying your device.

Wow, VERY nice! I have absolutely no clue what I am doing wondering over here. I tend to lurk in other forums a lot
Just stopped by to say it looks awesome I would do it to my Incredible S but I don't think the plastic backing of my phone will like it The IncS has a full plastic back, only a metal front.
What colour is it actually? It looks white from some pics and silver from others lol
