Don't worry too much. By pressing Vol up + Power, you are issuing a bug report. This usually only matter when you are hooked up to a PC. Have you rooted yet? That's a major step in rooting: issuing a fake bug report.
Basically, there's not much to worry about. God bless!

Hi everybody! Im new here and maybe my english is bad (sorry for that) but i have big problem!
I have HOXL (at&t) with twrp recovery and i flash Cleanrom v preview build BUT i forget to do factory reset before that. Now my phone is stuck on the boot animation and i can't do anything, even i can't connect with usb cable with my computer(led is not lightening)
Can somebody tell me how can i go into the bootloader or anything that can fix this problem?
Just hold the power button until the phone resets. Let off the power button for half a second then press it again and hold it and also hold vol (-) until you get into bootloader. From there select recovery.
Remember, no matter what if your phone is powered on, pressing and holding power WILL reset the phone. Its a hardware feature to simulate a bettery pull.
tnx

Here's what happened.
I booted into Recovery, and then selected the one that gives you the Android on his back. I realised this was the wrong one; the menu (up/down volume) that gives you the option for reboot, ADB sideload mode, etc seemed unresponsive, so I held down volume up and down, and power, to attempt to reboot into recovery.
And from that moment on... nothing. The phone won't even turn on. No sign of life whatsoever, Holding down the power button, volume keys, short/long presses.... all combinations, and it's dead as a dodo.
Help! What have I done?!

I'd bet your battery died. Just charge it and you'll be fine.
Next time it's pow+vol down to get to fastboot.

So you can't get into fastboot mode? Wow, fastboot was your last chance. If you can't get fastboot mode then yes your n5 is toast. Not sure what you did before what you described but chances are now you'll need a RMA or someone with knowledge on JTAG because that's the only way your n5 can be saves now. Otherwise RMA it.

Happened to me before chuck it on charge for half hour then hold all buttons for about 60 seconds if nothing happens RMA it.
Battery was 60%+
All very weird but as I said it seems to have resolved itself now.
Good to learn something new though!!

Yeah, sometimes patience is key.
And batteries can be finicky. Especially when your messing around with the low end stuff.

This has happened to me frequently, it's scary, but usually I can resolve it by holding power for 10+ seconds or plugging it in. This usually happens if I'm holding vol+/- before it fully turns off.

All these descriptions assumes your phone is turned off. (hold down power to power off device)
Holding down volume down when you power up the device should boot into a recovery menu, if not,
Try holding Down [Volume Down] + [Power ] until The Phone vibrates (This may take a little while, keep holding)
If it vibrates but still doesn't work, hold down until you feel it vibrate twice. (this will factory reset the phone, so you'll lose everything)
One last thing you can try is hold down volume down, power on the device and connect the charger. Keep holding volume down until you see an exclamation mark. Then press the following combination of buttons:
Volume up, volume down, power, volume down. This will also factory reset the device.
(this point may void warranty if not careful)
If you feel brave, you could look into using ADB to connect and launch the recovery menu if all else fails, but it can get a bit technical, and my advice is that you should have some experience with adv or flashing or similar. Google and read guides for it and decide for yourself, but remember, its better to wait for a repair on warranty than trying to fix it yourself at the risk of voiding warranty. (also, you usually get 3months warranty on the repair.
Hope this helps

The problem is that my phone is off! And I can't turn it on without using the power button it seems.
Is it the button itself that is broken or the functionality of the electronics? I once had to replace the physical button after the guts had fallen out of it. Got to the last step of rooting my phone, went to press that rocker button and ...nothing. I always used the virtual, on screen button for photos, so I never even realized that it was dead. They can usually find them somewhere online

I think it is the electronics because at one point my power button/volume buttons were randomly getting pressed without my input. But, I really don't know for sure.

All phones have a recovery mode which can be accessed by pressing volume up or down (only one) while inserting the USB cable. This powers on the phone for download mode allowing you to restore software.
As mentioned best method is to repair the faulty button but I would try restoring STOCK image/rom first.
Possible solution
Hope that this trick could help someone.
Situation:
- broken power button
- lg g2 off
- WORKING volume button
After lots of tries to power on that damned phone something happens:
1) Charge g2 until 100%.
2) Hold both volume button (UP AND DOWN) and insert power supply
3) be ready to disconnect the power supply immediatly when the lg logo appears
4) disconnect charger (Screen will goes off) keep holding volume button
5) reinsert power supply and when screen goes on release and rehold again both volume button.
And... Magically lg g2 starts!
I really don't know why this procedure works but i currently use this trick to power on the device when accidentally my lg goes to 0% -.-'
Some advice:
Before doing all this combination i've tried holding both volume button when the device was off.. For some reason the red led (charging color) flashed five times then this trick works. Don't know if was just a coincidence. But triying can't do any damage!
So... HOLD FOR MORE TIME YOU CAN THOSE ****** BUTTON.
And pray.
Hope that this will help someone

this worked for me. although I found that I did not have to reinsert the power supply nor did I have to rehold both volume buttons again at the end.
so 5) when screen comes on, release the two volume buttons.
Install Volume unlock, it'll make your volume button unlock the screen

Use ADB Commands to first connect your phone with your pc using a terminal and then use some other adb commands to power it on.
Google for some ADB commands.
Hit thanks
Lg g2 D802 here, non-responding power button. I power on my Phone just by plugging in the power cable and pulling it out when the logo appears. Nothing else. Screen on/off by knock-on funktion.

It souds like witchcraft but it works!
My Nexus 5 was drained off battery and was not taking charging suddenly. I entered the hard reset mode( power+volume down button) and accidently did a "restart bootloader". Since then my phone has been hard bricked! I cannot enter into recovery mode as well( power + volume down button). But I am sure that if I can get the bootloader running somehow, my phone will be back. I am sure it does not have any grave hardware issues as such. But the maintenance (service) center says , they will need to replace the motherboard, which is too costly for me.
Can anyone give me any pointers of how can I get my phone working again?

Have you tried connecting it to a computer and seeing if it gets detected by the computer in device manager? If so, it should still be possible to bring it back.
What exactly happens when you try to power it on? Does the screen turn on at all? Does it vibrate once, as supposed to, when you press the power button? Or is it completely unresponsive? Also, when you plug it in to charge, does a red LED light up where the notification light normally is?
Also, try various combinations of powering up sequences. You want to try the following:
Hold power
Hold power + vol down (this should bring you into bootloader)
Hold power + vol up
Hold power + both volume buttons
Let me know what happens when you try this, and maybe I can help you out!
