Its easier following these steps:
1- I was in 11.2.A.0.21 CE;
2- Flashed 11.0.A.7.5 CE (unbranded) with flastool WITH wipping data (if you don't select "wipe data", the phone doesn't boot);
3- Rooted with UnlockRoot;
4- Updated over the air to 11.2.A.0.31;
5- Reinstalled Superuser from the Play Store.

Why not try this?
1. Go find universal adb installer.
2. Find unlockroot offline version (try to get the latest version, online version forces us to install crap before actually installing it).
3. Press the big root button.
Now using:
Sony Xperia tipo ST21i
stock 4.0.4
11.0.A.4.22
(rooted, locked bootloader)
Thank you all, I'll try

Hi Experts,
Need your help / comments on the following issue with Xperia J :-
Current status of my device :
Model Number - ST26i
Android Version - 4.1.2
Kernel Version - 3.4.0
Build Number - 11.2.A.0.31
Rooted - Yes
Bootloader Status - Unlocked
Issue - Sony PC Companion detects that a new update is available ( even though i am currently on the latest build ie - 11.2.A.0.31 ) and takes me the the screen ( see the attached image Update.jpg ) every-time i connect my device to the PC via USB.
Also, the Update Centre on device shows that a new update ( again build 11.2.A.0.31 ) is available and i would need to be connected to the PC to complete the update procedure.
Things tried - Connected the device to PC via USB and proceeded with the update using Sony PC Companion, however after the download of new update i get an error telling "Phone contains modified software that cannot be updated". ( Please refer the attached image update_failed.jpg ).
It would be great to know the following :-
1) is there a way to disable this update notification from Sony PC companion everytime i connect my device to PC ?
2) is there a way to disable system notification in the device's notification area about new update being available?
Thanks,
Hussain
From what I see it looks like you can't update and I think it's because of the unlocked bootloader. Why dont you just flash the .31 firmware via flashtools?
And if you wanna remove the notification form your phone regarding the available update just use titanium backup and freeze the update center app. That will remove the notification .

I don't know where you can find the Indian firmware, but you can install the Central European Version.
Follow this tutorial - http://xperiafirmware.com/8-firmware/25-sony-xperia-j-st26 and search inside these forums for the Jelly bean .31 firmware ftf.

If you want to install stock firmware, then you have to lock your bootloader in order do pc companion detect what phone you have. In this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327472 there will be a root method to .21/.31 firmware for our phone in a few days time.
What I would do is flash stock firmware, relock bootloader, update to latest version, and then root (and you can also unlock bootloader again.
Don't try to lock bootloader with custom kernel in your phone because you will get a soft bricked phone.
I have Sony Xperia L - Jellybean 4.2.2 - 15.3.A.1.17 - Rooted Stock ROM - Locked Bootloader
For some reasons I have to make a hard factory reset with Sony Update Service program, but instead of letting the program re-download the firmware then installing it on the phone, I already made the FTF file that I downloaded in the past by using the Flashtool.
Now The Question Is:
Have I worry about losing the DRM Keys when I flash this FTF with the Flashtool ?, or this kind of flashing will not affect it ?, or I have to check Exclude TA in the Flashtool ?
Hey , anyone please help me
Hi,
I want to upgrade my bootloader because i want to root using this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/general/unlocked-bl-root-sony-xperia-m2-android-t3214498

hello to everyone if you have had the problem of the "bootloader unkown" here's a simple guide to solve it I tested on my Xperia z3 d6603 but I think worth for each Sony Xperia
1) most likely you will have performed a factory reset you tried relock your bootloader but all this is useless
2) first you need to obviously have drivers and flashtool installed correctly
3) most likely the problem is the version of the firmware so for example I had kitkat so I installed a fw with lollipop
4) Once finished flash fw repeats the process for unlocking the bootloader and everything should return to normal with unlocked bootloader properly and modding possibilities I hope to be helpful
