[Request] Notification strip - Android Apps and Games

I just bought myself a Galaxy S4 Mini and there's only one thing that I miss: notification light.
I knew that also before I bought it but I wonder if there's an app or if it's possible to develop an app which would do the following when the screen is turned off:
Upon receiving an SMS, email, whatsapp, etc. the screen lights up grey/black except for a small strip (here in green) which has different colours depending on the notification type.
The device would still be locked but the screen could light up for 30-60 seconds and look like something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Is this feasible or will I have to live without notification light?

One app that comes to mind is Knock² notifications. It doesn't do exactly what you want, but it shows notifications with the rest of the screen remaining blank.
Knock² Free/Demo
Knock² Pro/Full

^^ Xperia M LED
Hi there.
Yes, it does have breathing LED light underneath the display like Xperia J,L...
It also has real notification LED above the screen, near the proximity sensor.
this notification led (the one below the display) is the most useless function i seen in a phone. it's ugly as hell too

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
That is not the notification led. It's just a light when you switch movies, music and photos on the xperia apps. But it's useless yes, they could have done something more with it.
The notification led is like most other phones, a tiny point near the speaker.
A mood light as they call it. Marketing burb. Should be modded as a real notification light.

Back light dose not turn off at all!

Hello,
I've been using an OPO for about a week now, and I really love that phone, everything is great besides the one "slight" problem.
I have a problem with my capacitive lights not turning off ever. (Not even when the phone is off!) I'll post a picture (a bad one) but I hope you can see what I mean:

I don't know why is so hard to take a picture to show that the buttons are glowing .
The best way to describe it would be, that it looks like, like some of the shoelaces that are glowing in the dark (or something that looks like it's radioactive and glows )
But yea, they are glowing much more than you can see on that picture and no matter if the phone is on or off. I just cant get it black!
I am using onscreen buttons but I've tried to use capacitive buttons and turn brightness and illumination off. (It doesn't work).
But I can however turn it up. It's not a major problem, but It gets really annoying especially at night.
If someone has any suggestions what to do, I'll be gladly to try it.
Thanks.

Gallery - picture frame coloring annoyance

Am I the only one that finds the Gallery framing colors so annoying when they keep going from white to black and back to white?
Half the time when I swipe to look at the next pic, the gallery thinks I want to edit, and when the edit row appears the framing turns White... WHY SAMSUNG? Keep it black in edit mode as well!!

I'm with you....it's annoying in many aspects....as well as with the navbar from app to app
Yep, it's annoying. Samsung must sell the majority of their phones to North Korea. The North Koreans use the phones as a lamp when the power goes out. Why else would Samsung put a bright white background on every frickin app. Unfortunately the North Koreans can not eat the phone.

Did you find anyway to turn the background black? I miss my note 3 comprehensive integrated out of the box black UI on Kitkat 4.4!!

Nougat/Oreo quick settings: Another must have app for this phone!

If you're anything like me you have a nasty habit of reading on your phone before bed in the dark. Even at its lowest setting this phone is still very bright stock. I went through several screen dimming apps and all of them required me to open an app and put a persistent notification on my status bar/notification bar.
I stumbled upon nougat/Oreo quick settings (free in the play store) and it offers a full suite of goodies, some require root but most don't. One of the best is the night mode. It's a simple toggle like WiFi, Bluetooth, ect and dims the screen perfectly for night time reading.
I'm sure this feature will be implemented in custom ROMs but as the phone currently stands this is a must have app for me.

Pretty cool toggle, it would be awesome if it toggled the native Motorola night mode with the color filter, rather than just lowering the overall screen brightness.
Better than nothing, thanks
