I've seen several threads on here about the wireless charging "re-cycling" (flipping between charging, then not charging) of the DT-900 with the N4. The solutions I've seen on here don't seem to be working for me as I'm not 100% certain that is what's going on. Here's my situation:
N4, white one, so it's a new rev. Older revs of the N4 reported issues with this charger, but supposedly it was fixed with the newer revs.
CM 10.1
Stock kernal
Tried with a case, and without.
Daydream enabled/disabled
Completely flat surface. phone is not moving at all
So...I put the phone on the charger, positioned so the bottom of the charger extends a little less than 1/4 of an inch from the bottom of the phone (I've tried different positions on the charger with no change in results. From what I've read, this seems to be the sweet-spot for this combo.) The phone indicates that it's charging, flickers between charging and not charging 2 or 3 times, which from what I've read, is a positive reaction. Then, the charging light stays on from there. The battery screen reports "Charging Wireless" but it really is not charging. The battery does not seem to drain at all, but it does not charge. It just kinda hangs right at the 70% it was at when I dropped it on the charger. I left it there overnight a few times changing one thing at a time (case/no case, phone position, daydream on/off, etc.) and each morning, the battery would pretty much be at he same level it was at when I wen to bed.
Any ideas/recommendations?
Thanks!
Just got one of these for myself and I'm seeing exactly the same results you are. Says it's charging but it doesn't battery level has dropped at times while on it. I have had it on the charger with and without a case and no change. Hope somebody knows a trick cause i'm gonna feel dumb having wasted 50 bucks. I'm also on CM10.1, stock kernal.
I felt dumb wasting 50 bucks on it too. So I took it back to the AT&T store I got it from. If you can return it, do it. Then go straight to a Verizon store and get the LG wcp-300. I think that's the model number. 10 dollars cheaper, works way better.

That's the one I ordered, except it was from a US seller. I use a Seidio active case so I will let you know how well it works with that case, the Nokia one did not work well with a case.

I received the Qi wirelesss charger today and it does work, but not with a case. I have a Seidio active case and tried it with it on and nothing, then tried it with just the silicon back and the charger activated but did not charge the phone. Same results as the Nokia charger, but it was half the price. I have the official bumper case and will see if it works with that.

I read that T989 users where able to use this battery. Although it's a tight fit with the original back plate. Its 2100 mah and sold by Verizon for 25 bucks. I'm assuming that the T989 battery is the same as the i727. Anyone tried it?

The two batteries are identical in size & function.
But the Skyrocket & T989 battery covers are very different. So while this Nexus battery is too large to allow the T989 battery-cover to fit over it, it could be worse or better for the Skyrocket.
The skyrocket is definitely thinner than the 989. My bro has the 989 and I tried my skyrocket otterbox on it and it wouldn't close all the way. Just thinking the battery cover would definitely not fit.
If the cover doesn't fit, people who has a case, may leave it like without the cover...
Although, I wouldn't do that. I'll prefer to look for a battery that fits perfectly.
It sure does fit! Really snug and a slight lift on the sides. But the battery cover snaps on fine. Great 25 dollar investment. I'll post some pics in a bit.

I just got back from the verizon suite to try it. the right side of my cover closed fine but although the left side would close, you could see
The battery poking through the thin plastic cover and the left side kept popping open.
Also noticeably heavier.

I snapped the battery case bottom, top, left, then right. (Reminds me of the Contra code) The left side is shut but it bulges out a bit like the picture. I have a case on it so it doesn't matter. But I guess if you run it naked, then it might matter to you.

battery life before and after battery switch?
Thanks for this. Going to go pick one up tomorrow from verizon. I can get a solid 12 hours minimum from the stock SR battery. the extra juice should help it tremendously.
Picked up a battery today. Will report back after tomorrows full battery cycle.
Thanks, let us know. I'm guessing it should probably make around a ~15% difference, so 12 hours x 0.15 = about an extra 1.8 hours.
I ordered one from Amazon, but it looks like I won't get it until next week. Should have just stopped by a Verizon store...

Saw it on The Verge. I'm wondering if the magnets will be able to hold it up with a bumper on. The image shows that the diameter of the orb is larger than the width of the phone meaning a bumper would stop it from touching the base of the orb... meaning the magnets might not be as strong. I would much rather wait for a video review of peoples experience.

I'm thinking you might need to take off the case for the magnets to latch onto the phone though. I'm worried even with the OEM bumper the phone won't sit properly.

I really hope the magnets will still work when using a case
I'm going to go out on a limb here and speculate that the magnets will still work with the thin TPU cases out there. Reason being, the Nexus 4, when nude, is as slick as greased moose poo and is going to require a fair amount of magnetic pull to keep it from sliding off of the Orb. The TPU cases will probably lessen the pull, but will instead add additional friction, so I'm guessing they'll cancel each other out.
Pure speculation, but that's how I'm rationalizing buying one

I assume they made the OEM bumper the way it is (thin as heck with very little lip) so that it would work with the OEM wireless charger. Only makes sense, but I wouldn't put it past Google/LG to mess this up.
What is the Battery status app being displayed? maybe it comes up when connected to charger 0_o

I laughed at the moose poo! It really does try to slowly sneak towards and edge if you leave it on a glass table or tiled area. I've had a few near drops.
Does anyone else question the usefulness of wireless charging? I think it's quite cool and all that, but it's hardly like plugging in a micro usb cord is especially time consuming. Does anybody know if it charges faster than micro usb? This may be a silly question, but can you charge the phone using both the usb and charging org, in order to charge it quicker?

I'm modding the S4 to work with the Palm touchstone wireless charging dock and found out that even without modding the phone the touchstone has pretty strong magnets that hold the phone all by itself. When I get some copper tape I'll finish the mod and show my results.
If you have the touchstone you can use it as a magnetic dock like I am currently. It's pretty cool, also it holds the phone pretty strongly, In fact I can use the phone while it's on the dock. Even when charging (usb cable connected) it still holds the phone nicely...

I'd like to see your mods to the coil. I was playing with a spare coil and trying to figure out how to position near the bottom and make the electrical connections.
Thanks.

Do all the Palm touchstones use qi technology or is that what you're modding. I have already ordered the module from wiqiqi for the S 4 for $25 bucks but didn't like the big flat plate they sold. This would be a great alternative for work.

No, the palm is not QI. You will not be able to mix and match coils and chargers.. The Palm coil and Touchstone only with work together.
i´ve done it last year with the S3 and Note 2. Now i did it with the S4 and it works like a charm
Here are my Pictures.
great work! Which of the terminals is positive and negative, and also, which ports do you connect
i used .the left connector´s. It was more luck that it works because i don´t know why there are on the right side another connectors .
I couldn´t say which one is the positive and which is nagative because i didn´t test it. I´ve connect it like on my pictures and it work´s.
I´ve used the left connector´s because they are the same then on S3 and Note 2. I think the right connector´s are for NFC because the original Samsung Cover is "extreme" fat
With my solution there is a little camber in the Battery Case and nothing else. That means that you can use any nice thin Protection Cover for the S4 and it charges through the Cover.
That looks really nice.
Did you do any soldering?
Very cool. How effective is charging with this? How long does it take? Thanks.

Let's face it, holding the note 8.0, it doesn't seem like it can take much of an abuse, so a nicely built case/cover is pretty important.
Sadly, the original one costs a small fortune and doesn't exactly feel worth anything near that price. The shop where I bought my note tried to sell me a cheap one saying it is "original", but at 30 USD for a replica I decided not to. Currently, in India, the only place I could find third party covers is eBay. But all of them cost over a 1000 rupees ($20),until a week back.
I was searching eBay for the umpteenth time when I finally found this
http://www.ebay.in/itm/SAMSUNG-GALA..._DefaultDomain_203&hash=item35c7e6bcae&_uhb=1
Costing just about 10 USD, it seemed pretty good, and the ability to make a stand was much needed. I did find the absence of sleep wake function a bit disappointing, but figured you get what you pay. So Ordered it the same day. The seller FedExed it quickly, and it arrived in a reasonable time.
The packing and the whole cover made me realise it was almost the same cover as the one available at the shop, just a little better quality and much lower price.
It fits perfectly and when I opened it first time after fitting the tablet, it woke up the tablet. I figured I would have mistakenly pressed the power button. Tried again, the same thing happened.
Much to my surprise, the case has a sleep wake function, don't know why it wasn't mentioned by the seller. Any ways, it works great, but sometimes, when you fold the cover completely, the magnet on top goes to the back and again causes the tablet to go back to sleep. Of course you can wake it by pressing a button, but this should be fixed.
It is well built and only adds enough weight to the tablet to give you a sturdy feel. The back is nicely textured with Samsung printed on it
Leaving you with some pics of it.

Will this charger work with our phones? Says IPhone but I would assume it's universal?

Yes, this will work with the G3 + circle case. I just got this charger today and tried it.

So you need the circle case correct? This don't work with the stock plastic case.

Correct. I bought a circle case Friday, peeled the sticker out and put it on the original back (still kinda aggravated i paid $50 for a freakin sticker). Works, BUT it wont charge with my case on it so i need to take the phone out the case to charge overnight. also the power mat is VERY touchy on where you place the phone. but it does make a cool noise when you place it on he mat. All and all a horrible experience with this PMA crap so far.

Yes. As mentioned above. Just make sure the case is wireless compatible. I didn't realize there was a non wireless charger quick circle case and one that had wireless charging. Att didn't tell me that so I ended up with a regular quick circle case. Hope it comes back on sale soon....
just found these on Amazon, $7.98 - can't go wrong with that price. I have not personally tried this mat.

I got the Powermat from AT&T. It worked the first night. I took it off the mat and returned it later but now it won't charge. The battery backup pack that came with the Powermat charges no problem but not my phone. Do you think its a problem with my circle case? I'm at a loss.

That particular one, from what I've read, has a carved out profile that fits only the iPhone 3G case that is included. It isn't like the iPhone 4 case bundle that is just the flat normal charge pad.
Wireless charging on this phone has issues - read here
