[MOD][APP] Camera Modded (Better Quality, etc...) :D

Hello Friends,
Here i am with another mod for u guys which is worth having in every device and ROM....
So First BIG THANX TO rafalense for the post on modifying the camera app....
Thanx to him a lot, without him it was not at all possible...
THIS ONLY WORKS ON STOCK CUSTOM ROMS..... DOESN'T WORK ON CM..... SO DONT TRY IT IF U R ON CM.....
So Changes i have made to the MOD:
audio frequency increased from 16000Hz to 44100Hz
audio channels increased from mono(1 channel) to stereo(2 channel)
superfine quality has been increased heavily
audio bitrate increased to 128kbps AAC
maximum framerate has been increased to 30fps(its variable bitrate so u wont get 30fps everytime)

So guys here is the recommended settings to get highest quality:
640x480 resolution

Just download THIS file and copy it to ur sdcard and reboot to CWM recovery and flash it....
U R DONE....

Video 2 - 01:29 Min | 27.8 MB "recorded from a playing blue-Ray Movie"

a test video of 11 sec was of 3.4 MB.... in stock its around 2.1MB

dude download the zip file and extract it and then open the extracted folder after that connect your phone to the usb (don't go into USB mode) then open the file that has file name install, wait for a sec and then it's done
And I don't know if it works on other ROMs but I'm pretty sure that it will work.

connect ur mobile with the data cable and press "instll" file in the extracted zip and ur done

Camera icon disappears...
Need help!!!!!
When I run the install.bat file My camera app from the phones drawer disappears.
And When I try to launch camera from gallery it force closes.
Please help!!!!!

I am having the same problem. Though I can see the camera app in system via root explorer but there's no camera app in app drawer. So how to make it run now. I have tried it on cm7.1 and 7.2 and got the same problem.

Same problem didnt work in both cm7.1 and cm7.2 removes camera app but on install othee camera app it works

I think the camera app might have got freezer, though I haven't tried this ..but I'm pretty sure that it must have freezer...so use titanium backup or similar app to defrost the app!...

I didn't find an app that uses the power button, but found quite a few that use the volume button. Google "volume button camera android".

wilfred clearly states tht its only for custom stock roms not for cm

I found the option in every cm that I have tried...

I dont think that this problem is with holo sandwich i guess, have a clean install and try but if still it happens with u, post it on the Holo Sandwich's thread and report the owner of the ROM.

It's a bug which is not yet fix from CM9 to Cm10

Just dont say thanks, press thanks if we helped and u if u like that ROM use "Camera Zoom FX" u will love it and there will be no problem.

Try the hotfix provided in the Rom section. Or as the fellow Explorers suggested Camera FX Zoom rocks!
And yup its a CM 9 and CM 10 bug.

I never knew there was a problem with the camera when taking photos of faces. I guess I never even tried it as it is only a 3mp fixed focus camera, but camera zoom fx gives better quality shots in general and doesn't have the face bug, so $1.50 well spent. Thanks hsn97.

Try ProCapture + Panorama, it makes a great quality picture too and also a great panoramic pictures.

Procapture + panorama does sound very good and it is is on sale at the moment as well, but it doesn't do videos. I think I prefer just having one camera app. Thanks bluerain28

-all the roms posted works the 3d content?
-how i can know my baseband?
-which rom would you recommends?

All Rom that already Posted in here should work on your phone, i am noob too in this stuff i took time to read and ask and now i am not afraid to flash any Rom that i like , Yes i've bricked my phone many time but there is always way to fix it.

The ICS ported it pretty amazing , but it still has some stuffs to be fixed like the Camera is upside down but you still can try it though.
And the CM10 is Really amazing too but it doesn't have the 3D specs anymore, but i think later on it will be because Thanks to our Developers they working hard to give an amazing opportunity get better Rom to work on our devices , and they doing it for free. BIG Thanks to all of them.

How did they solve it ?
one thing i found too is that there lots of programs in Korean language on ICS ported, and the 3D video Playback did not work with me.

Go to (with any root browser) /system/app .
You will find the system apps ,, find ArcCamera.apk and ArcCamera.odex ,, delete both of them .
Then copy the file I gave .
That is all :thumbup:

I've tried this but its all failed because my phone is not rooted , i've tried all those way on how to root the ICS PORTED my phone end up crashing after..... I will have to root my phone then i will try to fix the camera by this guide you just showed me now...

first delete system/etc/init.d/40a2sd,then add your a2sdx

You can use ad2sdx.someone test it.unzip it，and use re explorer to copy the 40ad2sdx to system\etc\init.d.Remember to change the permissions.

i tried this rom with cronmod A2SD++. It's too lagy for me & home button didn't work. Did not try w/out a2sd script, maybe much smooter w/out it. Thanks for your hard work but i'm switching back to 2.3.30 gb.

I'm trying it right now with A2SD+, it feels OK. My home button works, my overral impression is good, smooth, a bit under other jb roms, but almost the same of VJ's miui rom. Maybe a bit better though.
I needed to install the play store, even if i was able to configure my Google account.
I stay with this rom at the moment.
Someone knows if Xaomi will release jb 4.2 miui soon ? Then, this rom will have the benefit of lastest evervolv team work.

As far as I know miui is closed source. The only way to translate (the texts) it would be apktool but I don't think that the algorithm and the engine could be changed.
