I dont think that this problem is with holo sandwich i guess, have a clean install and try but if still it happens with u, post it on the Holo Sandwich's thread and report the owner of the ROM.

It's a bug which is not yet fix from CM9 to Cm10

Just dont say thanks, press thanks if we helped and u if u like that ROM use "Camera Zoom FX" u will love it and there will be no problem.

Try the hotfix provided in the Rom section. Or as the fellow Explorers suggested Camera FX Zoom rocks!
And yup its a CM 9 and CM 10 bug.

I never knew there was a problem with the camera when taking photos of faces. I guess I never even tried it as it is only a 3mp fixed focus camera, but camera zoom fx gives better quality shots in general and doesn't have the face bug, so $1.50 well spent. Thanks hsn97.

Try ProCapture + Panorama, it makes a great quality picture too and also a great panoramic pictures.
Procapture + panorama does sound very good and it is is on sale at the moment as well, but it doesn't do videos. I think I prefer just having one camera app. Thanks bluerain28

These will not install, getting errors.. any one have better luck?
I imagine these need to be flashed, not installed with package installer... at least that's what I thought I saw with gApps. Could be wrong though.

Either change permissions to allow all or adb push to system/app then reboot.
make sure you've deleted the other gtalk and backup your camera.apk before removing the original files.
Is there any way to get to work on cm7? Or is the camera for sense roms only? That's the only thing I miss about sense is the camera/camcorder.

HTC camera will not work on CM or any AOSP ROM due to not having the Sense framework, & for the Talk with video, there should be a g-apps you can flash with the 1..3 Talk or look for "root talk" in the market.

thank you! well software like htc sense and samsung's touchwiz and in this case the lg software they all are based on aosp the aosp is heavily modified and the companies put on their own closed source codes so you will have rewrite some of the xml files you find in the apk which you want to port and add some universal code i dont know how to explain it well but i hope this was helpful and thanks you again.

I did and I absolutely got the gapps right. I read something about reinstalling the camera software although I'm sure if it's true.
I have the same issue. using CM10 build 3v2.1. please help
just download camera ICS from play store. it works perfectly on cm10.
Use camerazoom app, works flawlessly on all builds and roms. Google for free apk

Why to put in system apps and have an headache to fix permission and reboot..
It can be easily installed..
Whereas this camera lacks in the panorama feature.
We can't click a wide picture.. So not a good opt over stock camera,
just a genuine review, no attempt to hurt the developer

Does this replace any camera I might have? I have the note 2 camera which I wouldn't give up for the world and then also 4.3 camera for which photosphere is n great. If this is an additional one then I'd love to have it but not at the expense of one of my existing.

if ur not rooted then use app monster to make backup of stock camera .... If rooted thn try titanium backup ... Than you can try the camera ... FOR 4.3 STOCK CAMERA LINK HERE
