How do I properly set it up on the vzw gs3? It asked me to install a patch file and so I chose Samsung and my model wasn't there, there was SCH-I939 I think but no SCH-I535 so I just picked the first one above cause it was closest. And it works except when I expand or lower the window bar I get "FlashBarService" has stopped and the resize bar disappears while multi window is still going. I created a backup before patching thankfully, should I restore to it and choose a different model number for the patch or what?
I am on stock rooted VRBMF1 by the way

I didn't let it install the patch file and its working fine for me. I just picked "later" the first couple times it asked, and then hit "never". No issues so far. I've only added four our five apps and removed some of the stock apps that I won't use, so I'm not sure what would happen if you added a bunch, or all, apps. I'm on stock MF1 too, just rooted.

Yet again, Google Chrome Beta is broken after the latest update. I have ICSSGS RC4.2 and just updated Chrome Beta to the latest release. And as before, this update fails the Chrome Beta to launch on my Cappy... so beware...
I am using my old copy as before until someone figures out how to fix it... ... again...
Running 4.0.4 AOKP build 32 and it works with no problems.

Have you tried editing your build.prop, which was the easiest fix for the previous chrome issues?

I can and I will but what should the build.prop entry be to allow Chrome to load properly?
The thing is, I can find the new update with no issues. It installs fine, it just refuses to open. It hangs and then dumps me to the main window.
So, can someone give me suggestions as to what the right build.prop entry should be and I will try it.
Thanks
Look at your build.prop and the line that says ro.build.id= should match the line that reads ro.build.display.id=. If either one says gingerbread edit it to match the other and reboot your device.

Chrome is working for me on my Captivate, running Slim ICS (even though Chrome is fairly buggy and annoying in one or two places).

Ok. So my build.prop shows as such.
ro.build.id=IML74K
ro.build.display.id=SGH-I897-user 4.0.3 IML74K eng.onecosmic.20120204.223407 test-keys
So what has to match? Do I edit the display ID=IML74K??? and delete the rest?
Make a backup before doing so, but yes chrome beta does a check to see if that line is correct. If it's says something other then what a stock ROM would say, it won't run. So change it as you already described and it should work fine. But again make sure to make a backup of your build prop before doing so, just in case.

Ok... It seems that some people are using what I posted as a direction to change the build.prop to make the Chrome work... Actually, what I put on my earlier post is my exact build.prop what is NOT allowing the Chrome to work... so some one needs to provide an exact line entry. Please do not use my post as this is how my stock (ICSSGS ICS RC4.2) build.prop looks like...
Sorry for the confusion.
I downloaded chrome beta, but I cannot even install it. Something about a para phase error. Idk

I'm not sure if your situation is the same, but upgrading an existing chrome install didn't work for me. It crashed whenever I tried to open it. I uninstalled the one I had then installed the latest one from the play store. Its been working fine since. Running Slim 3.4 btw.

You guys should tell me why I should bother getting Chrome? Isn't stock browser Chrome based with HW accel by Samsung?
I've just tested this problem myself, and if you have LCD density set to 120 that's the cause of the issue. Set it back to 160 in build.prop or using dalingrin's CWM zip, and it works....
Fixed in latest update to Chrome... now works at lcd density of 120.

BTW Chrome release works. How do you like it? Beta was superbuggy, would not render certain websites, or leave white holes.

What do you mean by "won't work"? It's working on my captivate.
I'm brand new to the SIII, switched from a Rezound yesterday. I'm rooted, unlocked and running CleanRom. I know others have gotten Google Now to work but I'm at a loss for device specific install instruction! This is what I did and had no luck, kept getting force closes and black screens: downloaded the m7_velvet.apk to extsd....rename as 'GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk.....replace in /system/ app....change the permissions to read,write,execute/read,execute/read,execute....rebooted. Any help would be awesome!!

Download the flashable zip of your choice for the ARMv7. I recommend the online only version. Then flash it in cwm.

Dont know what post I was reading that was telling me to just install the apk, but what I was trying to install earlier was now obviously just the update apk. Works fine now, thanks!!
I just installed it today. I think it's a little silly that the back button doesn't work to exit the app. Others having issues with that?

Very true, not going to complain too much and all I had to do was drop a few files. I renamed all the other folders/files it was supposed to overwrite so all is good, didn't need to take a nandroid or anything. Pretty nifty feature to have and takes stock rooted one step closer to JB.

Anyone get wallet working on cm 10.1?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
There is an app that installs the proper build.prop and the modified apk for you. I believe its under vzw gs3 general
VZW GS3. EXECUTIONER 2.5
I used the app by krazy koder that I believe you are speakering of. No dice. I had this working on another ROM but not now.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Original wallet instructions for cm10 worked fine for me. I used gscript to edit the build.prop and installed the .zip.
Installed but didn't work in store
I downloaded the KrazyKoder installer, got it all set up, and then I went to Macys to use up a gift card I have there. I calibrated my card with Wallet, and I tried doing it. The first couple tries didn't work and then I tried holding it for a couple seconds. It pinged like it worked, and was showing it was processing, but then it said "Unknown status" and the cashier said it didn't go through. Luckily I had my card with me. I don't know if it works for other people but it didn't work for me.
I was running the CM10.1 Mastamoon 1/5 build.
Here is what I got.

thats because youre rooted. mine says that on every rom ive tried and its still worked for me.
When I updated from 10 to 10.1 I tried to install wallet the same way I did before (edit build.prop, flash wallet package) and I encountered problems, but was able to resolve them by disabling the wallet app from the wallet website and then starting again.
Every time I update to a later nightly I have to re-install wallet and I have done it manually as well as using the app, both ways I've encountered issues but at the end of the day they work. Once it gets working your good, the only issues I've had is setting it up and activating.
Sometimes I had to flash it again and sometimes go into root explorer and delete all the files and then start again, but the bottom line is it works
I'm trying top use krazyKoder's wallet install on my rooted SGIII with unlocked bootloader but i am not sure which info to select?
ICS TW ,AOSP,JB TW? I am on Cyanogenmod 10.x
Sorry, I can't find the info anywhere.
This is driving me nuts and I need some help, please.
When selecting what app to use as default for things like opening web links or galary, the app won't stick and asks again the next time I do the same action. For instance, if I click on a link in a text it asks me what browser to use, I'll select the stock browser and then "always" so that it won't ask me next time, but then I'll immediately go back and select the same link and it asks again what browser to use. This does appear to be only happening with built in apps. This started about a month ago and I've used several ROMS since then (currently on latest synergy) and all with the same problem whether its an AOSP rom or TW.
This morning I Odin back to stock, rerooted and unlocked the bootloader, flashed synergy and let my apps reinstall from the market rather the using Titanium Backup to do it. I haven't restored any data from previous roms/apps and its still not keeping the default selection.
I've searched the web and other people are having similar issues after a reboot but mine happens constantly whether I reboot or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was on VZWBLK3 for awhile as I haven't been using the GS3 after getting a new phone. So today I went to update it and it updated from VZWBLK3 to the latest VRBMV1. The previous update was supposed to bring Multi-window from what I read. But it's NOT on my phone and the update went smoothly.
It's not in settings and it's not in the notification bar toggles. There's no EDIT feature for the toggles either. I tried booting into recovery mode and doing a factory reset and it's still not there.
Anyone have any clue why this is happening or what I should do?

Yea I know how to activate it... but if it's not in the settings and not in my notification toggles then obviously that won't work either. (I tried)
I just checked again and I'm on VRBMB1 instead of VRBMF1... but it said it was updated to latest version... does it update one by one or does it skip to the latest version?
I thought the update with multi window was MF1, not MV1?

Probably just hasn't pushed to your phone yet. You can skip one, doesn't need to be one by one. My gf just got the MF1 update a couple days ago.
