[Q] Okay to remove com.tmobile.apppack from stock 21y ROM? - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hi Gang,
I recently re-rooted my phone and have Titanium Backup. I would like to know if anyone has tried removing "com.tmobile.apppack"? Were there any new crashes or failures to boot after doing so?
Thanks,
Christian Blackburn

Is this bloatware? There is a really cool app that searched through the phone's directory to find bloat that is safe to remove. I'll try and find it
EDIT- yup, I used NoBloat Free. I didn't find the file you referenced in your post so I must have deleted it lol. I believe nobloat let's you make a backup of whatever you delete before removing it and stores it on your SD card

Hi Pain-N-Panic,
Thank you for taking the time and consideration to respond. The application you suggested doesn't seem to offer anything that Titanium Backup doesn't.
Cheers,
Christian

Just for the heck of documentation: link2sd is another app that allows for freezing and removal.

[Q] Help Please

Hello to all who may be able to help, and thanks in advance. I am kinda new to android, and tried some things i should have researched more, so please no reprimands, i already kinda feel like a dumbass for it. I have a moto droid 2. I rooted using the Z4 root in the app market. I then installed system app remover, also from market. I was not planning on flashing new roms, just getting rid of bloat and maybe replacing some of the original apps with market stuff that in my opinion is better. I realized that the app remover i was using did not seem to show all the system apps. I downloaded titanium backup and gave it a whirl. I removed some of the stock apps, and when i did not like the result tried to reinstall them only to find out that titanium backup only backs up the data, not the app itself(System app remover does, and beeing a noob, i assumed that titanium would be the same). So now i am sitting here with a rooted droid 2, with a complete titanium backup, that still works(minus the apps i uninstalled), and i was wondering if anyone could advise me on how to get some of the factory apps back, and maybe also advise me on better ways to accomplish what i am doing. Again Thanks in advance and sorry to take your time with noob stuff. I did not know where else to turn, the people on this forum seem to be the Samurai-Ninja-Gurus of andriod.
Please anyone, i really need some help.

[Q] bloatware/root/misc question (new to root)

As to not hijack the Sideload thread, I have a few questions for a new thread.
I Rooted last friday for the sideload feature/screenshots because I'm a whore.
How do I remove the stupid AT&t bloatware?
how can I change what loads at startup?
and what do you do you with your root? what extra tool or function to you use now that you could not do with your stock rom
have you flashed a custom rom since rooting? most have the att bloat already removed. From what I've heard you have to be careful what you remove, say removing htc things from a sense rom could screw it up. There are several tools in the market for uninstalling apps. I was using root uninstaller but switched to another because of some negative reviews on the new version

Titanium backup. Don't let the name fool you. It does more than just backup.
Try the free version, but you really should buy it.
Cannot be overstated the value of this app.

I prefer to manage the apks myself. I bought root explorer, navigated to /system/app/ and made a folder called blacklist. After each rom I install I do this, comb through the system/app folder, and move any apk I don't want into the blacklist folder. This uninstalls the app, but allows me to have a backup incase I move an app that the system relies on.

A perfectly valid technique for more advanced users, though the OP might not quite be ready for that.

Titanium is in-valuable for many reasons. For your particular question, you would need the Pro version, go through your applications and 'Freeze' them. This keeps them from loading and removes them from you 'Apps List' but does not remove them.

Anyone know ...

I backed all stuff using tibu, bricked my phone got my phone back and titanium app only shows a couple ofapps when I hit batch_restore.but on my sd card the tibu file shows everything also the file I saved to my pc shows all my apps and stuff..what am I not seeing here. also to go off topic a little I just did the 3e verification mod and got a congratulations your not a total retard you managed to figure it out, but I tried to flash a rom and got a3e message not allowing wth

So you got a signature error?
if you have your titanium backup backups on the external sdcard, you have to tell titanium backup where they are...
I figured the tibu, the stock file manager sucks,i tried astro and was able to inst all apk one by one, got r.explorer back and installed astro. Yea I'm getting the 3e message even though I did the mod / fix and it said it worked

Does anyone know why you used a lame thread title? We constantly remind people to use the search function, but thread titles like this one make finding relevant threads in a search very difficult. Please use more descriptive thread titles in the future.

[Q] com.lge.wmc and com.lge.ers

Hello, i've recently rooted my stock froyo rom (and also installed franco.kernel v18.1)... I installed Titanium Backup also, and there are two LG apps (com.lge.wmc and com.lge.ers) in the list and they are with strikethrough lines...
I also installed Root Explorer to search this files that are stored in /data/data/, and both are with "rwxrwxrwx" permission
The question is, what are these apps?? what they do?? they are safe to delete from /data/data folder???
thnx in advance
Anyone? I'd like to know too.
Echo... Echo... Anybody...
I have the same problem too...too...
Yes update your phone. You are still in froyo...

They are useless shortcuts available only in selected countries, hidden until certain conditions.

com.lge.ers
I have some issues with my phone after I rooted it and uninstalled some annoying apps because my phone was running out of memory even if I installed only a few apps (it has only 128 mb). I know it is rather old technology but I got used with the keyboard and the long battery life...
Anyways
So I took a backup with Titanium backup which seems to be useless cause now it appears that there is a file that was uninstalled with one of the applications and the backup does not have it
The file is com.lge.ers and there are probably others because my phone buttons don't work and I cannot put the phone on silent mode
Is it possible to download only those files?
Is there any other solution that would help?
Thank you so much and I would appreciate your help

A frozen app question.

if you freeze an app and find no stability issues, can you just delete that app? system wise, is frozen the same as deleted?
Yes you can delete the app after freezing it to confirm it won't effect the OS. Freezing just makes it invisible to the system but it still takes up space. Deleting it will gain back the space it is using in memory.
I had a non market apk (smart stay) and no longer wanted it. I froze the app but can't seem to find it in titanium to completely delete. Any ideas

Use a file explorer and navigate to the root of your sd card(meaning back up a level twice). Go to data/app and it should be in there.
