Hello, i've recently rooted my stock froyo rom (and also installed franco.kernel v18.1)... I installed Titanium Backup also, and there are two LG apps (com.lge.wmc and com.lge.ers) in the list and they are with strikethrough lines...
I also installed Root Explorer to search this files that are stored in /data/data/, and both are with "rwxrwxrwx" permission
The question is, what are these apps?? what they do?? they are safe to delete from /data/data folder???
thnx in advance
Anyone? I'd like to know too.
Echo... Echo... Anybody...
I have the same problem too...too...
Yes update your phone. You are still in froyo...

com.lge.ers
I have some issues with my phone after I rooted it and uninstalled some annoying apps because my phone was running out of memory even if I installed only a few apps (it has only 128 mb). I know it is rather old technology but I got used with the keyboard and the long battery life...
Anyways
So I took a backup with Titanium backup which seems to be useless cause now it appears that there is a file that was uninstalled with one of the applications and the backup does not have it
The file is com.lge.ers and there are probably others because my phone buttons don't work and I cannot put the phone on silent mode
Is it possible to download only those files?
Is there any other solution that would help?
Thank you so much and I would appreciate your help

Hello
I own T-mobile mome (probablly alcatel OT 908) and internal memory is very low. I would like uinstal some apps . I supposed that Titanium backup would be enough but if i want to uninstal some preinstaled app Titanium backup says "APK file cannot be found"
Do you know any other solution (android 2.2)
thank you
need to be rooted
antTek app manager root 0.971
u must make buckups for each uninstalled app, I had problem after factory reset!
I have the same problem
Hello,
I also have an Alcatel OT-908 and I had the same problem as you. What I did was root the phone using Gingerbreak v1.2, and then I installed an application called AndroidMate. With the program's File Explorer option you can go to /custpack/app and delete any unnecessary applications. Be careful not to delete anything useful though, and it is always a good idea to backup first. However, this is only a partial solution to your problem (and mine as well). I still get low memory warnings and the only other solution I could find on the net for people with similar problems (on different phones) was to install a custom rom. I've posted a question in the General Q&A forum,if you find a custom rom that supports Alcatel 908 please share it with the rest of us.
Hello,
i have a small problem, i have HTC Desire running Reflex S and i remove some system apps using Root App Remover but the two apps are annoying me they are called Locations and the Wise Pilot. Locations are getting back after normal restart and the WisePilot i cant remove beacuse i cant find it. Any suggestions ?
Thx.
I would advise you to use Titanium Backup it has a lot more features then just removing apps and has a lot of work put into it but if the app is coming back upon rebooting the phone just freeze the app so it doesnt show up your apps list and is not visible or usable.
Hope this helps.
thx man, but where is the WisePilot stored or how i can freeze it, it does not show in TitaniumBackup
You might be able to remove it with root explorer go to /system/app and delete apk file and reboot

ok but the the question is what is the filename i sholuld know to find it, otherwise there is no problem with searching the file
edit //: solved aj freeze the apps that i do not need, system is now fast
please lock
if you freeze an app and find no stability issues, can you just delete that app? system wise, is frozen the same as deleted?
Yes you can delete the app after freezing it to confirm it won't effect the OS. Freezing just makes it invisible to the system but it still takes up space. Deleting it will gain back the space it is using in memory.
I had a non market apk (smart stay) and no longer wanted it. I froze the app but can't seem to find it in titanium to completely delete. Any ideas

Use a file explorer and navigate to the root of your sd card(meaning back up a level twice). Go to data/app and it should be in there.
These forums have been invaluable to me. You guys amaze me. If you could help with this, I would be forever grateful.
Phone: Verizon Galaxy S3, rooted, CM10.2
Problem: I have suddenly run into a problem where only some of my apps (1) do not retain any of their data after a reboot and (2) do not stay frozen (I've tried freezing with Titanium, Lucky Patcher, Root Uninstaller Pro, etc.) after rebooting (they do keep their data and remain frozen until I power my device off). ONLY the apps I installed on or after about two weeks ago have this problem (i.e. apps installed before that do not have this problem). So basically every time I reboot my phone apps installed over the last two weeks look like I've never used them (for example, a notepad app that I used extensively before rebooting shows no notes).
Solutions Attempted (without success obviously):
1.) Uninstalling problematic apps, rebooting phone and reintalling
2.) Doing a full factory reset via CWM recovery, wiping all caches, and restoring a nandroid backup that was taken before this problem arose.
Question: Is there anything that I can do to resolve this problem or do I need to get a new phone?
Thanks,
Jenna

That's odd... I use titanium backup myself and they stay frozen unless I defrost them. Do you use the free version or the paid version of titanium backup?

Thx for the reply - I use the pro version

That's odd then. I also use the pro version. Maybe instead of freezing them rename the apk files to .bak instead of apk. That might help

Not really no, your not deleting the file, it remains in the system or whatever folder it's in

Thanks again for your help! Ok so all I have to do is go into data/app folder and change the problematic apps name from "xyz.apk" to "xyz.bak"?

So I tried the re-naming of the problematic apps from ,apk to .bak (and then rebooted), but the apps didn't appear in my apps list after rebooting and when I went into the google play store it showed that it was not installed -- am I doing something wrong (I used root explorer to do this)? Or is there anything else you could possibly think of to fix this problem? It's driving me crazy!

Because they've been renamed it won't show as installed
From my Wicked S3 on SOKP
On my (rooted) S7 I suddenly notices that the Google services and play store were GONE. After installing these from GAPPS, I notice that several apps are disappearing.
I don't know why, don't know how, but I do know it concerns both system apps as well as user apps.
eg: I lost Waze (user app) this morning and, after a reboot, es explorer (user app), Google pictures (system app) and the gallery (also system app).
What can I do to prevent this from happening again?
I did make a titanium backup and a TWRP backup, but of cause it's unacceptable to work with my phone: clicking on an icon has about 2% change that the app is gone!
I noticed others that have this problem too, but I have nothing installed to the external SD card (which, btw. is a pain in the @SS with marshmallow)
No one can help me?
Still on every reboot I lose apps, both user and system apps.
Annoyingly is also that titanium backup cannot restore system apps!
I had link 2nd and foldermount, but removed both before. They are not installed, but still this is happening.
Please, please help!
BTW: a factory reset won't get me my system apps back, right?
I'm also having the exact same problem. Tried to search for a solution but to no avail... This is so frustrating...
what apps are missing ?
i have not seen anything like that
Randomly any apps it feels like removing. System apps, user installed apps. Once my google play store got uninstalled.

u say u installed GAPPS , maybe thats the problem
Bright.light did, I didn't.
Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I think this might be because I flashed ExtSD_Fix_rw-signed-v1.9b.zip
This is used to change the permissions for the external card.
It messes with /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml and /data/system/packages.xml
maybe that got wrong, so I made a factory reset and started all over. Now it works, even with xposed and root.
btw: It's only after I lost the play store/google services that I installed GAPPS, so GAPPS is not the problem.
Same here. I tried to revert to the packages.xml before the flash but it didn't work. Apps still getting uninstalled. So a factory reset did the trick for you? Did u flash ExtSD again after the reset?

No, I removed this ExtSD immediately, just to be sure that I won't flash it again.
For the moment I learn to live with this problem. It's possible because most sophisticated apps are already requesting the correct rights. Including the root capabilities it works as I like it to work.
When there is a better solution, I will TWRP backup and try that one, but this ExtSD is not the correct way.
I haven't found the thread, or else I would have put a warning in there too...
I have changed the permissions and ownership of the files in newer versions. Tonight I will release v2.8 with additional logging to help me finish this thing.
The ExtSD Fix thread is here.

Thank rufus! Still appreciate your work on this. Don't take it the wrong way that I'm blaming this app. Users install at their own risk, so it's all in the user. [emoji4]

No bad feelings ?
My stuff does not work as well as I want it to yet and that frustrates me quite a bit...
Please join the testing team to help. If you don't want to mess your system, nandroid backup before flash and then restore. I hope the apps disappear quickly though... I know it is a pain to loose data/settings/texts/call logs...

I didn't loose those things, however, since my backup was 'old', I just started all over, only retrieving some items from backup selectively.
No hard feelings for the ExtSD, I know it's my own risk
I do hope that the development of ExtSD will continue and that there will be a time that we beat this monster problem! :good: Or that Google finally understands that this is NOT wat we want!
btw: I have several apps which I cannot use anymore because of these ridiculous rights.:crying:
I have the same trouble with missing apps on my rooted 5.0 Lollipop phone.
I find that the missing apps usually have two copies of themselves in the data\app directory.
What I describe will apply to all updated system apps and user apps:
For example playstore is a system app but, after it is updated it is stored as data\app\com.android.vending-1 for the first update. Then data\app\com.android.vending-2 for the 2nd update.
Further updates will alternate between these two storage locations.
If something goes wrong and data\app\com.android.vending-1 does not get deleted you will have two copies of Playstore which I think will lead to a randomly disappearing Playstore.
I delete the oldest dated of the two storage locations and reboot phone. If still missing I reinstall the app and make sure there is only one copy in data\app directory, I will delete the oldest again.
I have auto update apps turned off to reduce the problem. I have a TWRP backup so I do not worry about messing up the phone.
Good Luck!
