Hello
I own T-mobile mome (probablly alcatel OT 908) and internal memory is very low. I would like uinstal some apps . I supposed that Titanium backup would be enough but if i want to uninstal some preinstaled app Titanium backup says "APK file cannot be found"
Do you know any other solution (android 2.2)
thank you
need to be rooted
antTek app manager root 0.971
u must make buckups for each uninstalled app, I had problem after factory reset!
I have the same problem
Hello,
I also have an Alcatel OT-908 and I had the same problem as you. What I did was root the phone using Gingerbreak v1.2, and then I installed an application called AndroidMate. With the program's File Explorer option you can go to /custpack/app and delete any unnecessary applications. Be careful not to delete anything useful though, and it is always a good idea to backup first. However, this is only a partial solution to your problem (and mine as well). I still get low memory warnings and the only other solution I could find on the net for people with similar problems (on different phones) was to install a custom rom. I've posted a question in the General Q&A forum,if you find a custom rom that supports Alcatel 908 please share it with the rest of us.

Hello,
I flashed to leedroid 1.3 and i use Titanium backup to remove it like they wrote on the Forum, but it doesn't remove them.
It gets rebooted and then hangs with black screen and android warning picture.
I need to remove the battery to restart the phone.
Any other ideas to remove twitter/facebook/Peep and other social media apps.
THNX for your knowledge input.
you can also manualy remove the apps by deleting them (or renaming their extention e.g. .apk -> apkx) with a root explorer, for example 'root explorer' or 'ES File Explorer' in the /system/app folder.
I can remove it, but it returns after reboot + on "pm uninstall com.twitter.android" I get "Failed"
You need to root your phone first. Visit the forum section dedicated to your phone, read a bit, read a bit more, root it, then wipe that bloatware off.
@Captkiwi just download z4root it works with 99% of phones-use it and buy rootexplorer, open it, go to system/app, click mount r/w and delete bloatware Good luck
Making phone to be S-OFF is crucial. This thread helped me S-OFFing it properly (made bootable USB with unetbootin), and now this procedure works... Previously it didn't while the phone was still S-ON.
Hope this helps people, been struggling with my phone for a month now... Finally it seems I control my hardware
Make sure USB Debugging is on
Install z4root by downloading the apk and allowing non-market apps. Find it on sd card and install with longpress or something.
After you root, install titanium backup free version.
You can use this to backup and then uninstall all the bloat you want.

Ok - looks like there are 2 main options
1) Install Titanium backup and delete bloatware from there (Rooted Phone)
..........This option doesn't appear to work all the time - is it because the bloatware doesn't show up or because its listed with and unusual name like---- SNS 1.0 -- that twitter hides behind?
2) Use "a" file explorer on a rooted phone and go to---- system/app ---and find the apps and delete them ....nope still cant find the bloatware....
.........try another folder ..... /data/app/ ....still nothing
Anyone got any more ideas?
I'm working on an ideos X5
Hi to all,
I read many forums about and I didn't found solution.
I have rooted Samsung Galaxy S2. I have problem with removing some of pre-installed apps, they don't remove from my phone. After uninstalling with Titanium Backup Free in backup/restore list they disappear, but icon on desktop and apps remains. After reboot they come back in backup/remove list of Titanium Backup like nothing happened. I already uninstalled a lot of pre-installed apps but two of them don't want.
Also I tried with Root App Remover but it said syntax error unexpected: "(".
Any suggestion?
Best regards!
you have to root your device with the Customs ROM, search in forum.
Thank you for quick replay.
Is that the last option, flashing the ROM?
Right now I have XWKDD_insecure kernel, Android 2.3.3, Baseband XWKE4.
Could help XWKE7_original kernel?
Go to Market and download Root App Remover.
change rom
Root explorer, use it to delete from system/app or data/app.
Thank you guys, I done it. Without changing the ROM.
Best regards to all!
Also titanium back up is an easy way to delete any app on the phone quick and easy

Hello, i've recently rooted my stock froyo rom (and also installed franco.kernel v18.1)... I installed Titanium Backup also, and there are two LG apps (com.lge.wmc and com.lge.ers) in the list and they are with strikethrough lines...
I also installed Root Explorer to search this files that are stored in /data/data/, and both are with "rwxrwxrwx" permission
The question is, what are these apps?? what they do?? they are safe to delete from /data/data folder???
thnx in advance
Anyone? I'd like to know too.
Echo... Echo... Anybody...
I have the same problem too...too...
Yes update your phone. You are still in froyo...

They are useless shortcuts available only in selected countries, hidden until certain conditions.

com.lge.ers
I have some issues with my phone after I rooted it and uninstalled some annoying apps because my phone was running out of memory even if I installed only a few apps (it has only 128 mb). I know it is rather old technology but I got used with the keyboard and the long battery life...
Anyways
So I took a backup with Titanium backup which seems to be useless cause now it appears that there is a file that was uninstalled with one of the applications and the backup does not have it
The file is com.lge.ers and there are probably others because my phone buttons don't work and I cannot put the phone on silent mode
Is it possible to download only those files?
Is there any other solution that would help?
Thank you so much and I would appreciate your help
Hello I've a Lava Iris 405 running Android 4.1.2 on a Mediatek processor. Likely you haven't heard the product name since its India specific. Still Id like to know how to remove preinstalled apps ? They gave me Facebook twitter rock stand and other crap. Together with three useless games they total up to around 80 MB of the 512 MB available on internal memory.
It'd be great if I could get rid of them permanently as I'm not sure I'll miss any of them or that any are integral to the system. I checked system<apps which listed the core apps but there was no trace of these crapware.
Help please. A non command line solution would be preferred since I'm a coding noob.

You may need to root your phone to remove preinstalled apps. If you goto manage apps and hit "all apps" you may be able to remove it there or at best, delete data and remove updates. If this is no use you will need to root your phone and use a third party app to remove an application. If you want to remove a game, that should be fine but if you want to remove an app you think you don't need but the risk is it maybe important to the operating system. in this case it would be better to freeze the app and see if your device works fine for a few days. If you can do everything as normal, the chances are it is safe to delete.
Be warned that some pre installed apps cannot be retrieved from app stores so if you decide you want it or them back, you would have to factory reset your device or reinstall whichever rom you removed it from.
Hope this helps... you should google or use the search here for answers as this type of question has been done a million times thus the solution has been fully answered too, many many times.
1.root
2.install costum recovery
3.take nandroid backup
4.install titanium backup

Thanks. I primarily want to get rid of Facebook Twitter Rockstand and three games (FlyBoy Private Sheep and Cricket fever). Don't think any of them are system critical.
My device is rooted using the scatter file method, with CWM and Root Explorer installed. Honestly I don't give a damn about warranty since the company isnt exactly Samsung or Nokia.

Hello any help getting me closer to someplace I can find help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a used GS3 on Boost Mobile. the phone is running stock rom, in recovery mode it says it is
KOT49H.L710VPUDND8
Model SPH-L710
Baseband-L710VPUCNJ3
Build-KOT49H.L710VPUCNJ3
Android-4.4.2
No custom recovery installed!
No attempt at flashing any roms yet!
just rooted to do housecleaning .
I rooted using Chainfires CF-auto-root method, everything went correctly. I then updated Supersu to the latest Pro version. I did not uninstall any apps yet but did install a bunch. I installed Titanium Backup pro and did manage to backup everything before this issue started.
I noticed I had an issue with the extSdCard not being able to be used by TB and looked for a solution. I did add a line to /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml but it did not work so I returned it to normal. I then noticed I could no longer make backups TB was giving "insufficient storage" and failed. if i tried to change the backup location in TB I noticed the default now had a red folder with " cannot write to this location"
I know I may have changed something in the platform.xml by mistake or at least that should be the first place to look but I swear I made no mistakes while editing the file.
I have tried to create and delete folder and files on my internal sdcard using root enabled Es File Explorer but it fails everytime. on a side not I can create and delete from the extSdCard.
I feel this will only get worse if not fixed please point me to the correct place for help! Thanks
Oh and I did post this question in the Sprint/gs3/q&a help forum.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The Sprint Q&Q forum is the proper place to post this as you've already done. So I'm going to close this thread.
