Not yet.. I imagine the devs are waiting for ics to drop before any real development will take off. Also, there is an issue with the wifi driver that Samsung will not release the source for...

I had the 8.9 but took it back and got the plus but was disappointed there was hardly any development going on but ICS is well worth the wait. Thank-you.

I don't have any knowledge of how to port webos to the nexus 7 but I'd love to try it if somebody could do it
Still think webos is one of the best OS`s that I've used

Yes! If you could make it flashable via cwm recovery id be your slave for a day lol
Not to crush anyone's hopes I said " might" I have yet to start going through tutorials on xda university and it will take me ages (I have only a small amount of experience with c++ and non at all with c)

Oh and also anyone could have an as good a chance as me as doing this you can just start to learn android development from xda university and that should help understand open webOS a bit more.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Actually we don't need to port I just remembered about the phoenix webos app that the phoenix group have been working on that let's u run webOS within android we don't need to port we can just wait for that to come out.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I heard about the app, but having a limited os inside an app isn't the same as installing the full os on the device
I'll probably try out the app but I still think it'd be better if someone could port webos proper to the nexus 7
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Well I wonder how it would be limited you could just take a ROM and use titanium backup to remove all in wanted apps and just use webos for everything.

Guys have you read this: http://www.androidcentral.com/open-webos-finds-its-way-nexus-7

http://www.webosnation.com/webos-ports-gets-open-webos-and-running-google-nexus-7-video
They've released how to test it on webos ports http://www.webos-ports.org/wiki/Testing_Nexus_7 but u still have to boot it at first via the PC (after its booted to webos you don't need to keep it plugged into the PC) but apparently using it won't affect your android install, now just to figure out what ifconfig is.

Heavily encrypted? It may be closed-source but its not like the OS is completely locked. Look at the HD2

I'm no fan of windows mobile but it would be pretty cool to boot it up, including iOS but the fact is the source is closed on both os's so it won't be happening

Its not up to you whether someone wants to run windows 8 on their android phone. I know it wouldn't be possible but I would love to try it on the S3. Personally I prefer flashing different os's instead of ROMs. Roms can only change so much.
And yes this should be in q&a.

The hd2 was a windows phone.. Its mostly a copyright and license issue.. You'll never see a windows ROM on an android phone, only vice versa.. There was a big discussion back in the day about this when I was on the Raphael forums.. Microsoft surprisingly looks at this stuff
On a side note there is a win 7/8 launcher in the play store.. It looks pretty decent too

Yes it would be very cool; if only from a novelty standpoint. But it isn't going to happen for many reasons including hardware, licensing, IP, and the DMCA and its chilling effect upon research in a legal gray-area.

Hey guys, just in case you're still looking for the android app, it was released this month and is on the market now (disclosure: it was built by a client of mine).
Enjoy!
Can our zooms not handle android 4.2.2 because of Terga 2???

Sent from my Xoom using xda app-developers app
It can handle 4.2.2 fine
Then how come they decided not to update our xooms is it because of the system partition
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
Because no one gives a **** about the Xoom anymore... Especially people at Motorola making $$ lol!

Pretty much what Dyelon said. The xoom is two years old, and it actually takes a decent effort to port 4.2.2 to the xoom because of the system partition limitation's, definitely can't load it with any bloatware, so moto basically says "screw it" They already have our money so they will concentrate on their newer devices.
Besides, it isn't like anything moto would put out could best what the EOS and baked developers already have out so, does it really matter?

Didn't Google buy Motorola? Any way why beat a dead horse. The reason we didn't get it is kinda irrelevant at this point. We didn't get it, we won't get it OTA. Like Drex said, the devs here ported a better version of it anyway. (I would imagine)
I'm still on 4.1.2 because 4.2.x just isn't that impressive to me. I can wait for the 5.0 port, if it comes, if not... 4.1.2 does what I need. No complaints here. Just saying.

Well, mainly that it has been so stable and fast for me. The only complaint I would have is I haven't been able to find a CPU overclock option in the settings. Not a big deal I only overclock when playing demanding games, and other apps do it too but, it was a convenience I had become used too. Not to say it isn't there necessarily, just I haven't found it. Other than nitpicking, I would recommend it if your looking for something else.
